https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14688153/midwest-city-downtown-locals-scared-mad-max.html Midwest city's downtown is now Mad Max-style hellhole where locals are scared to go out after 8pm Surging crime and a diminishing police presence has turned a Missouri city into a hellhole, leaving locals afraid to step outside after dark. Downtown Kansas City has become a hotspot for illegal street racing and reckless ATV and dirt bike riders tearing through the neighborhoods - chaos that escalated last month when a police officer was hit by an ATV, Fox 4 reported. Now, frustrated business owners and locals are weighing whether to abandon downtown altogether, blaming the Dem-run city's leadership and law enforcement for failing to curb the chaos and restore a sense of safety. 'This isn't a race issue, this isn't a political issue, this is a safety issue,' David Lopez, a local business owner, told Fox News, noting how chaos right outside is a constant occurrence, posing extreme danger for the surrounding community. 'I feel as though this city is about unsafe as it's been since my family has been at 207 Southwest Boulevard, and that's 45 years this September,' he added. 'When things out of your control start to chip away at the very foundation of what you've done for four generations, it hurts.' Not only is the community feeling the impact as they return to the safety of their own homes by nightfall, but long-standing local businesses are bearing the brunt - watching foot traffic vanish and revenue slip away. 'People are going to leave - that's it,' Lopez, the general manager at Manny's Mexican Restaurant, added to the outlet. Democrat Mayor Quinton Lucas has faced growing anger over the mounting chaos.

I like these two... I do think that a Bills / Ravens opening day matchup is a real possibility from a league appeal perspective... -

Steelers don't ever seem to tank but if there ever was a point where they have reached an impasse and should somewhat soft reset and not be afraid of a bottom 10 record it would be this season. They have attempted to be somewhat competitive despite not having a QB since Big Ben (and Big Ben's last few years were rough) and while it is admirable they squeak out .500 or better seasons they won't ever get past a 10ish win round one exit team leaning on defense and cobbling together offense. Steelers had a 6-10 record in 2003 and it led to them getting Big Ben in the 2004 draft. Probably would be better for them if they get a top 10 pick in this years draft and have some extra premium picks to trade up. -
His total payout was not 39 million--it was basically his guarantee 24.7. But yes, by all means lets look to the JAGS as the standard fro FA signings (or any FO competence at all), lol. Tebow! Bortles! Foles! Bills carried 30 million to get rid of Diggs.

This is EXACTLY what Michelle Obama was crucified for. Why?

I hope the first game at the new stadium is also on Thursday night for the obvious reason but even if the Bills don't win it all this year, I still think the first game at the new place will be a primetime game. You know how the NFL likes to make a big deal out of everything so they will probably want the Bills new home to be in the spotlight nationally for the first regular season game. If it's not the Thursday night game, then it will be SNF or MNF. IMHO. -
Who’s your defensive surprise of the year?
billsfan89 replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Cole Bishop is gonna give this team really good quality safety play and I think Forrest is also a dark horse to start but I think Cole is gonna make a big impact in year two. My reasoning is that in addition to Cole being a high draft pick who most pundits thought got draft right around where he should have, Cole also got 4 regular season starts and played heavily in two playoff games and I think he generally got better with more snaps. I think his biggest issue his rookie year was getting a feel for his role in the system. The more snaps he gets the more he will get a better feel for the game. With 6 games of experience under his belt and an entire off-season to work on his game and watch his tape I think he's gonna come into year 2 in the McD system and excel into a quality starting safety. Hamlin was decent last year and I like having him back as depth (helps he is a willing and capable ST player) but I think if the Bills defense has aspirations to go from a average to slightly above average defense to pushing to be a top 5 defense in the league again Cole is gonna have to step up and lock down the SS spot. And I think he's gonna do that and play well. -
I agree with that. The Sabres make me feel like I am a fan of the worst franchise in the league. The glassiest of houses. Completely irrelevant and the Leafs travel to worlds we cant even comprehend as Sabres fans. Eichel too. I hated him, but now, you know, he was probably right. Why should he be expected to waste his career here?

1. Injuries are always a factor in football. 2. Moore has earned nothing. His signing is similar to Dane Jackson at db. He wins a job or doesn't. 2a. Davis was most efficient and effective in the wr 4 role early in his career. Can back up multiple positions and is suited for the dirty aspects of the position Samuel, Moore and even Shakir are not. Ideally, Coleman takes that over. Again Coleman has to prove it. Im not saying this is the best situation for Gabe. Im looking at is a fan of the Bills. I would ask Gabe is 30 catches from Josh Allen passes equal or better than 50 catches from any Giants Qb or any Pittsburgh Qb? I think an argument could be made they are. If any of Coleman, Shakir or Palmer don't make the progress we hope Davis has produced with Allen. Samuel and Moore are anything but sure things at this point. In football competition rises the floor. Davis puts everyone in the room in an earn it mind set. How as a Bills fan is that not a good thing? No one is going to pay him more than 11 mil. Thats what he is making from Jacksonville so he would be on a minimum deal from Buffalo while Jax covers the other 10 mil. Maybe Gabe is shot from the injuries and doesnt make it. Its cost the Bills nothing.

I think the drama has been dramatically reduced. The Bills did not trade him. The Bills didn't even draft another RB. To me that means Beane clearly expects J Cook to play. If Beane thought Cook was going to sit for the first 11 games I think Beane would have taken a different approach. Glad to see it didn't happen, we can't just replace Cook he is an exciting top tier RB. And to go one step further, depending on results this year (Superbowl + running offense) I think it's possible Beane puts in a big offer to retain Cook. Hasn't been his philosophy to date but things can change.

They want Rodgers. They wouldn't even be considering that if they weren't in win-now mode. They have a lot of aging veterans, and just traded for Metcalf. Admittedly it's a weird state they're in with the QB. If they can't get Rodger, I'd expect them to make a run at Cousins, or perhaps they'll talk to Tannehill. -
It's probably going to gall me watching Brashard Smith on the Chiefs at the draft slot they got him. He's the right guy to have waiting in the wings but a year early for the Bills. The Cook equation, if you're thinking in terms of letting him walk and qualify for the comp formula, this is the trade: Bill get: 1 (contract) year of James Cook. Bills give: A (potential) 2026 4th rounder (by trading him) for a (potential) 2027 4th rounder (comp). To me, this status-quo is so much better a deal than the 10 games they got from Amari Cooper for a straight-up 3rd.

I feel like I don’t really hate any NHL teams anymore because it’s been so many years since the Sabres had any meaningful rivals. The hate has kind of faded to indifference. Years ago I would’ve hated the idea of Toronto winning a Cup. But now I don’t know if I care. Their fans are die hard too, it’s been a long time since they won anything meaningful and they’ve been through a lot of heartbreak. They still aren’t my choice to win the cup but I’ll be happy for their fans if they do. I am rooting for a Canadian team to win it this year though, just because it’s been so long since Canada got a Cup and I know how much it would mean to the country. The team I want to win it all is the Winnipeg Jets. They are the smallest market in the entire NHL and the #1 team on no-trade lists. If they can win it all it’ll be a nice middle finger to Kevyn Adams and his palm trees/taxes comments. 😂

You can tell its a slow time of the year when we are analyzing DK skinny pics... lol... He needs to show us something this year... for sure... I think he can I hope he can...

Ya know Roundy, I am a reasonable centrist, fiscal conservative, progressive to some degree. I have no issue with gay marriage, but don't talk to my child about transitioning, teach them math. Etc Sanctuary cities are 100% wrong, illegal immigration or migration is wrong but immigration is great. Spending by government is out of control IMHO. Yada yada. I say this to put the following in context. BUT, you must recognize that Muslims, Muslim nations around the world are at war with Christianity, and we are dumb enough not to see that. IMHO, called upon by this country to defend this country against a Muslim country or follow their Muslim teaching against Christians, a huge percentage will choose their religion and listen to their clerics. Christianity was used to help spread Europe around the world in 1497 and on. Muslim countries are now doing the same thing. The crusades ended in the 13th century for Christians, not for Muslims. There are only 4 countries in the world that are Muslim based that are democracies, more than 40 that are not. Sharia law is 100% opposite to democratic principles. Virtually every Muslim organization would want Sharia over our system. Just ask the direct question. So, there are many who have reason to have a bias against Muslim religions, because their leaders are bias against us. Still!

Yup, DaRick , and Duke, all wall of preseason fame -
He was amazing last year and he wants a raise and the benefit of a new multi year contract. Exactly like every other player in every sport who is an important piece to the team and is underpaid. again, He has not missed OTA's yet because they have not happened yet. Not really that hard to understand. if he skips the mandatory OTA's and doesn't show up for TC then there is an issue. Until then it is just people belittling him and saying he is worthless and can be replaced by anybody from their local over 50 flag football league.
