Game week thread - Dolphins at Bills TNF
TFBillsfan replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hopefully, we come out of the Miami game with a W and healthy! The mini bye will be good for Ed, Matt, Cam and Shaq. -
The Chiefs offense really hasn't been anything special the past couple of years. They play close games, rely on D, and then rely on Mahomes to make key drives when needed. That's such a thin margin. I mean, they have played in 5 Super Bowls already, so it's obviously been successful. They are a quality team with great coaching and some great players, but there's nothing about them that is scary. They remind me of NE back in the day: Brady, Belichick and then whoever. Not in the conversation a lot of the years as a top team then there they are at end.

I think there was real critiques of Beane to be had as a GM but if we have to go all the way back to Benjamin that's a stretch. I think in 2021 and 2022 Beane missed a big window to take advantage of the rookie deal Josh was still on. Von Miller in 2022 was obviously a big whiff but that was more so due to a rather freak injury as Von was really good the 11 or so games he played in 2022. But in 2020-2021 I remember the Bills bringing in a bunch of JAG to OK D-linemen on big contracts. Mario Addition and Butler types. Where the Bills could have probably just spend more on one or two really good players to complement the players they had as opposed to having 5-6 OK players rotating in and out. I also think the in ability to address the interior O-line was frustrating at the time. However, I would say the Bills since 2017 even if you wanna cherry pick post Josh and say since 2019 the Bills are a top 5 drafting team in the league (Eagles, Rams, Ravens, KC are maybe better not sure if you can find any other team that's consistently been drafting better in that time period) and they have done a good job in free agency of supplementing parts even as Josh's contracts have tightened the cap and they have had to get out from under veterans and take big cap hits.

Nice topic/stat OP. Josh's current pace has him scoring 9.29 rushing TDs per season. If he were to keep that pace (and Hurts doesn't surpass him), Josh would have the most rushing TDs in league history in about 10.5 years (at age 40). Now whether he can keep that pace as he ages remains to be seen, but even if he just kept that pace for 5 more years, he would already be in 5th place all-time. Unbelievable! At his current pace, he would pass Cam Newton in week one of next season to be the QB with the most rushing TDs. And with two rushing TDs in the first two weeks this year, he is actually on pace for 17 rushing TDs this season (not that I expect that to happen)---but, if he did that, he would pass Cam around Week 11/12 this season. It really is amazing. At his current pace (27.86 passing TDs/year), if Josh played 10 more years (to age 39), he would be 5th on the all-time passing TDs list. If he played 12 more years at his current pace (to age 41), he would be 4th all-time on the passing TDs list (behind only Brady, Brees, and Manning). But none of them were running QBs or anywhere near Josh's rushing TDs (Brady had 28 rushing TDs in his career, Brees 25, and Manning 18---Josh already has 67). It would take Josh 12.25 years (Manning), 13.5 years (Brees), and 16.25 more years (Brady) to pass their passing TD totals (at Josh's current pace)---which would mean playing at a high level to 41, 43, and 45 years old (so that probably won't happen). But, he could literally end up with the most rushing TDs in history (or close) and say 4th/5th all-time in passing TDs. Currently Brady has the most combined TDs for a QB with 677 TDs. Josh had 262 TDs in his first 7 seasons (or 37.43 TDs/season). If he played 11.1 more seasons at that pace (to 40 years old), he could actually eclipse Brady for total TDs by a QB. Again, not sure he can keep up that pace that long, his body is taking a bigger toll than guys like Brady and Brees did (due to the rushing, extending plays, etc.), but it's amazing none the less that he even has a shot at it. We are truly blessed.

So I guess we can make this yet another thread where we show what Kirk actually said vs. the lies of RoundyMao. Cancel Uncle Ruckus though as he is backing up the claim that Kirk never made. -

Tougher to do a lot of that stuff on the road at least, especially with snap counts. Bottle up the run game. Force them into 3rd and longs. Kill the Quarterback. -
Remember when it was a necessity because those goofy Montreal Allouettes uniforms we wore had mismatched jerseys and pants? The blue top and white bottoms didnt even look like they were meant for the same team.

That's Howard Johnson's AKA HoJos. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howard_Johnson's The Mets had a 3rd baseman named Howard Johnson. Harvey Johnson was a reluctant head coach, but Ralph would tell him to after he fired a head coach & needed someone quickly. The 1st time was in season, the 2nd time after John Rauch quit in preseason after a dispute with Ralph. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harvey_Johnson_(coach)

The Bills receivers may be becoming the league's best unit in the Fire Drill. Who needs initial separation from elite cornerbacks if you can utterly flummox them by running around randomly after the initial play breaks down--and do so all game long?

George Floyd was convicted of a variety of crimes including aggravated robbery and they put up statues in his honor. You don't have to be perfect to be a martyr. Honor October 14th!

Miami will be playing for their lives this week. This game is a hell of a lot scarier than the Jets game to me -
