  1. Past hour
  2. He says he would rather not know. As he will be more himself. He knows the team isn't going to post anything bad.
  3. I’ll be concerned if the D doesn’t improve after the bye when we have our dinged up starters and PED boys back. What I’m seeing now is 2 rookies on the D-line, confusion in the back 7, and horrific tackling. All of that is correctable. Babitch isn’t going anywhere this season. At worst, McD will take over the play calling but never admit it.
  4. Maybe that's why he was ushered out. I always wondered how it would have gone if Beane had kept Hughes and not invested so much in Von Miller. I'm not criticizing the move, which was bold and exciting and might have paid off big time. Hughes wasn't Von, but he was a good player and continued to play well for his new team. Plus, maybe he was right to butt heads with McDermott, especially after the way that game ended.
  5. I think that the Ravens can beat Houston even if Lamar doesn't play if they run the damn ball. The Texans' defense is pretty good but their offense really sucks. I can't see the Ravens beating the Rams with their defense as it is now, which is mostly injured. 2-4 doesn't look good for the Ravens. 1-5 seems like a death sentence for the Ravens in the playoffs.
  6. I hear you, but Their schedule really softens up after the next 2 games. Even if they go 1-5 to start, 10-7 will still get them in the playoffs which I think they will ultimately do
  7. They likely will be much more "buttoned up", hopefully like they were against the jets, a very very different, disciplined, prepared defense. But it will be because McDermott became the defacto DC this week, as I think he did before the jets game and in games like the Denver playoff game.
  8. It is the nfl injuries happen look at the broncos a couple of years ago.
  9. Wow, this is not good, especially coming off a mini-bye--and a game after not playing well against Miami. In all four games, the defense made clutch plays, but in all four them they put themselves in a position of having to. That's living dangerously. I really thought the defense would handle either Miami OR the Saints, both weak teams, competently and decisively. Instead, they continue to play poorly, which makes me wonder what is going on. Winning helps tamp down the urgency, but the coaches have to be concerned, maybe even alarmed. As you say, it's not just the rookies who are struggling; it's the veterans, too. The problems are cropping up everywhere: poor communication, missed tackles, players out of position, undisciplined play. It's not all bad, not by a long shot. Walker, Strong, Bishop, and Sanders are improving in front of our eyes, and Bosa, Daquan, Oliver, and Benford have all played consistently well. It could just be a perfect storm of rookie mistakes and veteran off games, or maybe the defense as a whole just needs to gel, given all the new players (with more to come). I hope so. But I'm not all optimistic about the Pats game. This feels like a team in need of a wake-up call, and the Pats appear to be a team that is primed to be the alarm clock.
  10. Ahhh yes, must be our DC. Or could it be, possibly, maybe, our defensive head coach who has the worst playoff defense in the HISTORY OF THE NFL?
  11. Yes it’s still VERY early in the season and Baltimore is sitting at 1-3 with a ridiculous amount of injuries including Lamar who “may” miss 2-3 games. They have Houston who’s 1-3 as well this week fighting for survival and the Rams the following week. They seriously could be looking if they were to lose these next two games. That would forecast them around 9-7 or 10-6 barring a hot streak. Things could quickly unravel. With Indy, Jax, Pitt, Chargers, KC and Denver, they could seriously miss the playoffs!
  12. Absolutely true, just look at how they performed under this staff for most of the time they have been onboard--one of the best defenses in the league, one of the most disciplined, and one that progressed, kept progressing. The posters you reference are basically just referring to the playoff games against KC, that dynasty, that has won 3 Super Bowls, with an historically great QB, one of the best of all time, and the games the Bills lost to them, often with key injuries, such as Benford and Rapp in the Championship Game last year, to define the defenses of McDermott as awful. Nonsensical, so I have not even responded to almost any of those. They have been beating that illogical drum for years and nothing you or I say will stop them. They want to blame McDermott? Go ahead and blame him for hiring Babich, as I did on here for hiring Dorsey. That is very legitimate criticism. McDermott made those bad decisions, and I believe did so because of his conservative nature--played it safe, he thought, by hiring from within, his own coaches, coaches players liked and maybe wanted, rather than getting the best of the best from college or the NFL. He has been much less conservative as a coach, has committed to doing that the last few years, and now I think he will also start to do that when it comes to hiring coaches. He needs to, and I think learned from this mistake. This year though, as it is mid season, he does hire from within again--himself, one of the best defensive coaches in the league, so that is okay.
  13. He did ok. He got beat a few times but made some nice plays as well. He is a backup for a reason, but he didn’t embarrass himself, IMO.
  14. i'd be furious if my kids school had drag queen events, but how often is this honestly happening? i'm certainly not saying it hasn't happened, but i don't think a few online clips are an indication of this massive movement to turn children gay, trans or whatever.
  15. Absolute monster in college but so was Aaaaaarrrrrron Maybin. I watched him in the SEC and convinced myself he would be great in the NFL, and who knows maybe he will be but early returns looks like another project
  16. Who the hell cares that a third round draft pick was inactive in the first four games of his rookie season????? The angst of the OP and other like-minded posters over Jackson's being inactive in the Bills first four games is more a reflection of those posters' dislike of the Bills FO and coaching staff than reality. They obviously can't find anything even slightly more significant than obscure stats. Reality is that only about 40-50% of 3rd round picks play in the NFL for three or more years. Reality is that only about 16% of third rounders become quality NFL starters long term. That means that most third rounders are going to be role players, backups or special teamers.
  17. I agree legs don't bend this way without serious ligament tears or breaks
  18. Interesting, would you agree this is just one man’s approach to Thousand Islands dressing? I know a guy who’s a well known drag queen in the local clubs. To be fair, I had no idea he was well known until a coworker told me. Nice enough guy, a tad over the top on certain business interactions in a very dramatic sense, his husband tends to temper that a bit. My children are grown, but being candid, I’d have had issues with a drag queen event at their school when they were young. Should they choose to attend drag shows as adults, have at it. I’d be DD as I occasionally have for all sorts of shows. Dude, we’re up to 12? We’re like Bezos in his garage in January 1995. It’s all about to pop! Soon….15….then 20. Then, gosh, who knows?
  19. tbf the turf there looked absolutely terrible. I have a new very high def TV and it's so much more noticeable, could see the seams and worn patches
  20. Im not sure there's a brace that would make a difference when a 320lb man collapses the knee of someone who is a buck 80 soaking wet and wearing boots
  21. It will be interesting to see if Sanders snap counts go down once they have their full group (Jones, Ed, Oji, Walker) back.
  22. Thru 4 games he has 401 yards rushing with 5 TDs and has added 12 receptions for 89 yards. The rushing stats thru 4 games are pretty impressive.
  23. Disagree with you = pretty worked up. Such is the nature of a 12 person sub-forum.
  24. Your 2nd last paragraph where you bolded that McDermott will be in the defensive meetings this week is interesting. Where did you hear that? As if that's true (I have no reason to believe you would make that up) that's not a good sign for Babich
  25. Lack of fluid Movement would be one reason,
