  1. Past hour
  2. The thing is, as much as he needed an attitude adjustment, I am just not sure the physical talent and killer mentality are in there. A fire under his butt isn't going to make him run any faster, improve his footwork and route running, or be able to create separation at the top of routes either through deception or physicality. A lot of that stuff you either have in you or you don't. And until he can prove to get any type of separation down the field with consistency, teams aren't going to respect him and I haven't seen anything to this point that's encouraging outside of a couple great jump ball catches (and even then, he's been worse at contested catches than he was projected to be as well). He couldn't do this stuff in college and the NFL is just an entirely different level. Didn't see it then, don't see it now. But man, we really could use him to be serviceable at least. We'd all love him to turn into Anquan Boldin overnight, but it's more than between the ears, focus, and not missing meetings to get there.
  3. I don't see that change from Joe. Still very sensible. He's always been ultra low on picking Bills or big wins. Guess he wants to maintain cred in that locked on group. Does not want to seem like a homer.
  4. I have a theory that Joe Brady falls in a rather unique coaching paradox. Both paths I see result in him not being here next season. The first option is things remain the same the rest of this season and possibly playoffs. We make an early exit and he is replaced in the off season. The second option is he gets things fixed. The Bills hit the playoffs red hot on offense and go deep in the playoffs. He would then likely be a hot commodity as a HC and likely cash in. The line between genius and madness is often razor thin.
  5. What, really? His takes are great. If anything I think sometimes he's too much in "homer" mode, so it's great to see him actually have legit criticism of the organization
  6. A lot of talking heads saying this is must win for Pittsburgh... I'm not so sure. They have the four spot right now. Baltimore is going to lose more games too. I don't really see it as oh so urgent for Pittsburgh, especially how crappy Baltimore looks.
  7. the bet i put on the offseason was bills/rams.
  8. Agreed…only with the might.
  9. If the Patriots make it to the Super Bowl I think that might actually be even worse than if the Chiefs went back again
  10. So you’re fine with continuing unlawful actions and lying about it. And then acting as an apologist for bad actors when your argument fails. Murder is not justifiable
  11. Will they? You don’t think this team will have injuries today and the rest of the year? Injuries have been the only consistent performer for the Bills this season.
  12. Joe is one of my regular podcast listens. I also love Pat Moran on talking Buffalo to get a more emotional fan based take. What I think Joe does very well is understanding a team’s weaknesses and how to attack them. He was dead right about how to attack the Atlanta D and what to expect, while Brady did the exact opposite and got destroyed. Same with Houston. He was banging the drum about Houston’s defensive ends and the need to keep running the ball to keep them from teeing off, and again Brady did the exact opposite. He’s not a savant, he gets a lot wrong, but he’s pretty straight forward in how he justifies his opinions. You can agree or disagree but you’ll know the why. I think Joe is getting salty because he doesn’t understand why Brady develops the game plans he does because they don’t attack an opponents weaknesses. For pure post-game enjoyment listen to Pat Moran and Joe from Queens after a game. It’s a fun rant when we lose and cathartic. Pat will come back the next day with a more measured take about what he felt went right or wrong, but the post game when he’s losing his sht after a loss is all of us.
  13. Except, it's really not more times than not. I will concede the point of a team loses their starting QB it can derail a season. If a team is missing a couple OL guys or a few from their secondary or so on there are ways to make up for that. It's what almost every other team in the NFL does. It happens multiple times a year to most teams. Yet somehow other teams can overcome. The Bills don't look like they alter plans much when missing a starter. They just expect to plug in a backup and play. That's often not how it works. Good coaching staffs adjust their plans according to guys that are missing. The Bills simply do not for the most part.
  14. I remember lots of classic Van Miller calls where he nailed the importance and the emotion of the moment. I never remember his voice cracking constantly because he was yelling so loud the mic was distorting. Murph used to do it too. Unlistenable.
  15. Their TDS will never allow them to admit it...but the orange gasbag is right sometimes. Including here.
  16. I guess I’d say that while every team has injuries, some teams really do have it worse than others and it legitimately explains won-loss records. Sure, it’s an excuse at times, but at other times it’s just a reasonable explanation.
  17. We might simply disagree here, do you believe people responsible for thousands of deaths, that their lives should be spared so they can try again?
  18. I was going to say the same thing. His podcasts (I've only heard a few) seem like mashups of the discussions on this forum, conventional wisdom on Coleman, the wide-receiver corps, the run defense, Brady, McDermott... I didn't hear any fresh insights or observations. I come here for news and analysis, although I like Greg Cosell and one or two others. But I'm glad to be told I'm wrong. Does anyone have recent examples of Marino commentary they found valuable?
  19. I think he is a non factor again today…gets in for a handful of reps. Just don’t trust he’ll do anything. Hope I am wrong and he comes out with a fire lit under his butt 🔥
  20. The problem with Joe Marino has never been with Joe himself. The problem is that a core group of people treat his opinions (and that's all they are...his opinions) as the gospel truth. People really no longer have the ability or desire to think for themselves on a large scale these days. He spoon feeds them their opinions. How many replies on this very forum start out with the phrase "Well, Joe Marino says..." like that's some kind of end all to the argument. Marino makes a lot of valid statements and opinions. He also offers up clunkers. He states the exact same things we see and read here.
