The Rams? The team who won the SB after “ 13 seconds” game. Then did their own version of a rebuild and look to be back up to snuff and on their way to another one possibly. Those Rams? Thank goodness we didn’t start over ourselves after that. Getting to the SB and getting our butts handed to us does not sound like a consolation to me.

Our front 6 - 7 😏 is currently the worst in the NFL of the playoff contenders - largely due to the injuries to Oliver, Hoecht, whatever it is with Bernard, Milano, and now Bosa. Our 2nd round DT has done almost nothing and I think Walker has hit a rookie wall. And Taron has lost a step. This is why I can’t fathom we will do anything in January. If we even get there. Someone convince me we can win with that group without saying Josh can go on a heater. The good news is the Secondary could be on to something with a core of Benford, Max, Bishop, Hancock.

A bit too much negativity here. For starters, this is a depth move. Because we have had more than our fair share of injuries on the defensive side. While it would be nice to sign a pro-bowler, there aren't too many of those floating around at this time of year. And we have no idea what we'll get out of Lawson, if he ends up playing. He's 31, which isn't exactly over the hill at his position. But we need players. Too many guys have been hurt.

Gruden or another Rex type of candidate would make me put my fandom on hold. This will be unpopular, but I don’t hate what the Bills are doing as much as some of the fans who just look for things to B^&%* about. While we have some intelligent and informed people here, I don’t think the average Bills fan is half as smart as he thinks he is. Look around. This may be even more unpopular, but I wouldn’t care if Gruden lucked into another SB ring with any team. I’d rather be without a ring than have him as our coach. I think I just may have different values and sense of what is important than some people here. I won’t sell my soul for them to win a trophy. It’s fine if others want to feel differently, that’s just me. I’m not telling anyone else how to think or feel.

He's been quietly lately but Deone Walker looks like an improvement on what we've had in recent past when comes down to depth DTs. Larry O while not always noticeable been a solid contributor. TJ Sanders meh but at least he's healthy now, will he be anything more than depth? Time will tell. So, yes Beane has made efforts and tired of the tribe that seems to think he rests on his laurels which he hasnt. He did it in adding veteran WRs Palmer and Moore this past offseason as well. So effort is there just not the results we/he'd hope.

That’s not how it is served, that is how it’s prepared. My wife’s brother was visiting my wife with family for Thanksgiving one year and he said “Hey mom, this isn’t all dry the way you make turkey.” He was young and stupid, and I’m sure correct. To be fair, their Thanksgiving is a middle eastern feast and the turkey is an afterthought. My first Thanksgiving with them I watched the tabouleh, hummus, grape leaves, kibbeh, etc come rolling out of the kitchen before that dry bird ever showed up. It was eye opening for me, like they had never heard of Thanksgiving or something.

I'm a pro Schobel guy, biggest issue is he came after a true franchise DE in Bruce Smith. There really hasn't been anyone as good in the league this team as good minus Myles Garrett. Though Schobel never had a Kelly or Thurman to assist him on the other side. Otherwise we would have never had the playoff drought.

I’m not sure if it’s such a mystery that the Bills and Chiefs are struggling somewhat this season. I remember after the four year Super Bowl run people were pointing out that the Bills played close to a full extra season in those playoffs and it took a toll. Chiefs and Bills have played a lot of extra games over the last several seasons. Maybe it’s taking a toll. Why weren’t the Patriots impacted the same way you might ask. Well, they almost always had a bye and almost always were at home. Plus, they were ruthless in turning over veteran players and bringing in younger, cheaper players.

At the start I chalked some of the behind the scenes rumors to Michael Thomas being terrible to work with - as cooks had no such reputation it’s still wild that we haven’t heard more stories/off hand comments from reporters or past teammates though.
