You're probably joking, but there is a lot of truth to this. Younger NFL coaches, of course, grew up playing Madden, like any football-obsessed kid. There was an article about college coaches using Madden verbiage to explain plays so that Gen Z will understand them, but I can't find it right now. But here is Ben Johnson talking about Madden in a very interesting way. Clearly, he played more than "occasionally."

We have 1 guy who can win 1-1 against man, and that's Kincaid. Palmer, Shakir next on the list but both are not sure things --- especially against the teams we've played this season with strong #1 corners. Our 2nd outside WR is almost always shut down against the #2 corner. Samuel can get separation, at times, but is hurt literally every game. And Kincaid can't stay healthy. Gabe/Keon is basically 50/50 or less. It's either mesh concepts, or we do what we did against NE and try some 1-1 downfield shots. I think what could help: 1. Using the RBs more - swing passes, angle routes, chip/release in the flat 2. Using TE or RBs to "chip" the DEs --- with our OL not playing as well as LY in pass pro, I think we need to give Josh more time with chipping with a back or TE on the edge. It also gives the WRs more time to get downfield with intermediate routes --- and often times, chip/releases by the TE or RB to the flat or dump offs, work for easy 4-5 yard plays/occupy a LB(s). We need to manufacture more, you can do that in a variety of ways --- but to me, it's give Josh more protection/time, which will lead to WRs getting downfield and into their routes and Josh more freedom to move around in the pocket.

Only a month until Festivus...and the front office parallels to Kruger Industrial Smoothing are striking. 🤔 As for firing Canada, maybe Rodgers just making a place for Jonathan?

Ironically, regarding clothing, when I was doing Asia trips, which are overnight as almost all lengthy international trips are, the first class cabin passengers were provided pajamas if they wanted them. The seats are like recliners, so sleep was easy. -
Big difference is their coach is an offensive mastermind and ours is a defensive master ... clapper.

Yeah. I get it. I agree with a lot of this. I think we're conditioned to only see and respond to negativity. You're right in that there is plenty to be thankful for and appreciate. I think what this season has reminded me of is that this is a game and really it has no barring on my life (other than emotionally on Sundays lol) but I need to enjoy it a little more as we are watching a great team. Yeah this looks like a down year but there is still hope. -
Disagree. Any suggestion that this is a QB and not OC problem on the Bills must be met with laughter and derision. Brady is a bum, a nobody--like Dorsey before him. A "QB coach" here in the NFL. Maybe he should take a job in the MAC. If anything, it's a HC stat. Looking at you, McD and Tomlin....

Which is the complete opposite of the Bills process

That was the correct call , otten didn't have control of the ball at the point the knee was down

Canada was terrible in Pittsburgh so I'd want nothing to do with him.

OMG! Never saw that. Hysterical and spot on. Thanks, made my day. -
A shame they won't be out longer

Honestly, it was a whole series of things, not just one thing. I actually think our Offensive Line has been very overrated. They absolutely stunk on Thursday. All five of them.
-
Lowe was awful last year, yesterday he wasn’t awful but I think him being in sped up Maye clock in his head.. I was expecting injuries rather it was elsewhere lol
-
It's not that he can't do it, he just doesn't like to do it Like you can tell the games/stretches where he does his homework and the ones he doesn’t. The start of the 2024 season predictably was a trainwreck in large part due to his postseason "I'm the best athlete in the world/I'm not much of a film guy" arc Still obviously an amazing quarterback but he has yet to come around to WANTING to kill teams with homework, and it does limit our offensive options to an extent
-
That's a very fair question. I'm not sure I can answer it well, but I'll try. To me it is the constant negativity, that all is lost and there is no hope. Constant bashing of Beane and McDermott as being incompetent fools who should be working at Walmart when they took a disaster of a team in 2016 and turned it into a franchise that is thoroughly respected, gets teams up to play against them(especially in the frequent prime time games we never had much of before), and have movies made about the fan base. Winning 5 Division titles in a row. Endlessly complaining about poor draft picks and taking for granted the good ones. Saying other teams are so great and we aren't-- poor little old us. There are lots of things I wish were different too. I wish we had a Chase or Higgins at WR. I wish the big decisions made to shore up the defense had not come up short because of injuries and the like. I wish there were fewer injuries overall. But it is what it is. 10 years ago we would have been thrilled to be 7-4. Now anything short of a SB appearance/win and the whole organization-- outside of basically Allen and Cook-- is entirely inept. That is whining to me, feeling sorry for yourself and endlessly talking about it. Best I can do.

We're Heading to Pittsburgh... The Stadium is Haunted
Rubes replied to ryguy101's topic in The Stadium Wall
Great story. Well, not great that you had to go through it, but still great. People tell me all the time that they're not concerned about the flu. I ask them if they've ever had it, and most say "I'm pretty sure I had it before." My response is always: there is no "pretty sure". If you've had it, you'll always remember it, and you'll never want to risk it again! -
Bills fans sitting here complaining that we never draft WRs in the first round. Brandon Beane telling us he's never in position to draft a WR as good as Tee Higgins. Les Snead over here grabbing Cooper Kupp in the 3rd round and Puka Nacua in the 5th round. Yikes.

But do they have a Carolina Panthers retread pipeline?

Its good that some teams hold their coaches accountable for incompetence. In Brady's case though its more than just a poor offensive gameplan. He almost got Josh killed on Thursday. That combined with the ineptitude in the play calling should get him canned.
