  1. Past hour
  2. I hate to say it, but I side w the team on this, he wants a lot, he’s older and you are paying more for past performance than you expect to get in the future. It’s tough, but how many more years do you really expect from him? Maybe 2 at that level?
  3. It's only bad when Trump does it. Imagine the Dems bringing back jobs to America and cutting pharma costs. Isn't that what their party is supposed to be about? Trump is beating them at their own game and they don't know how to react
  4. Imagine thinking this police officer intentionally killed some crack head for absolutely no reason. As pointed out, he was using a technique that he was taught to restrain crazy criminals. When you are a cop, if the bad guy is able to overpower you they can potentially get your gun away from you. It's very important to be able to control them and restrain them as needed until backup arrives. If the technique is problematic then so be it. That's another discussion. And none of it has to do with racism. What a joke
  5. My first Bills game was at August, 17th, 1973. I was eight. Been madly in love with this team ever since.
  6. Pete Rose tribute game in Cincinnati tonight. YES I will be there. 😁😁 14 ☝️
  7. Hey Guys, yall have a great forum and i wish each of you all the best. But its probably best for all of us if I move along. Obviously my take on this topic has rubbed many the wrong way and that was not my intent. I have been accused of trolling, got a warning point for crusading and have been accused of being a former member. I certainly didn't mean to troll (not certain i know what exactly that denotes) . As far as crusading, im a little foggy on that one as well. What I am certain of is that i am not a former member. I joined this site because when just lost the afc championship game and like many fans i was hurt and wanted reassurance that better days were ahead. I live in TN most of the yr and bills fans are few and far and since we have the titans as our home franchise- no one cares about pro ball. It’s just big orange talk down here. My account wasn’t validated for several weeks so my first posting window was around the NFL draft. Hopefully that explains my timing. Just wanted to share my love of the bills with like minded individuals . i will always be a bills fan and i know that we have the best player in the game. But i have always been more impressed with him as a person and the difference he makes in the city i love. I watched his pro day when he was overthrowing receivers 75 yards downfield. I watched his first yr when i know he had elite skills and competitiveness that were in the rough but could be refined and i have suffered with his attempt's to will a carry an incomplete roster over mount mahommes. I know he will get there and i hope each of you will be there to celebrate it. I could share similar situation where these kind of matters have caused issues down but i wont bore you anymore. moderators feel free to delete my account if needed. And once again, I hold zero hard feelings to any of you. Go Bills
  8. Good. Sucks for their fans.
  9. Happy for Gurtler. He goes way back on Sabres broadcasts and has paid his dues in the NLL. Kudos!
  10. And check the discussion the two of us had earlier in this thread. He had said the Bills never play good defense in the playoffs. But when I pointed to the many good, even great games they played in the playoffs, he told me he didn't mean that statement, and thought it was a given that I would know he had meant against good/great quarterbacks only. He completely moved, in fact flat out changed, the goal posts with a very different take. Now, he moved them again, clearly, in this exchange with you. Now, in his discussion with you, it is NOT the quarterbacks that are relevant, but, instead, the records of the teams the Bills and others beat! Like I said, when you move the goal posts in a debate it usually means you do not have a good argument. You don't have a sound, thoughtful argument you can support. When you then just change the goal posts, and repeatedly do so, well, it is extremely telling. I was all on board for a game breaking wideout late in the season and then after. (For example, I wanted Metcalf and think I started a thread on that.) Mainly because it was the quickest fix, as it may allow the Bills to overcome their weaknesses on defense. (They seemed to have a lot of needs on defense, so it would be hard to fix in one off season. ) But once the season was over, I had time to digest and learn more, I realized if the Bills were to become a great team, it was the defense that needed to be focused on--and like a laser. I did not think that hoping over and over that the Bills could win shootouts against the best teams was a sound way to go. It is not. I had seen enough football in my life to realize those one dimensional teams almost never win Super Bowls. So I am not against the idea that the Bills should get a game breaking wideout, still want that. But it is maybe the last piece of a superb puzzle Beane and his staff have created. I will not repeat their offensive accomplishments again here--we all know most of them, and those just bashing and bashing and bashing do not care, close their eyes when they see them. Listening to the arguments in this thread, like this one I am commenting on here, and in so many others, they are often just irrational takes, that cannot--and so are not--supported by real, concrete evidence and reasoning. Anger and emotion rule, not reason and facts. The important facts are ignored, over and over, and unimportant ones are the name of the game. And they ask many comically loaded questions-- yet another dead give away they don't have much to work with. And some just keep changing their arguments, over and over, as it is all they can do when the facts are presented to them.
  11. My first game at Rich Stadium, I got to go with my friend and his grandfather to work at one of the concessions his grandfather ran. We got there early and on the way to the concessions carrying supplies, I darted through one of the tunnels just to see the field for the first time. such a cool few moments. Got chills. Fortunately I was invited to help for many more games. Too young to work concessions, my buddy and I were tasked to do pregame and halftime prep. but for the rest of the game, we just found empty seats to watch. Plenty in the mid 70s. Much more fun years after tailgating and watching, but those were good times.
  12. I'm torn on this. On one hand, Pete Rose is a Cincinnati institution. He is as Westside Cincinnati as a person can be. The westside is a weird place. It's a really insular working-class community that does not accept outsiders. Think South Boston or South Buffalo with all that goes with that. Except for the Irish thing, because here, of course, they are mostly ethnically German. Went to Western Hills HS. Graduated from high school (Western Hills) and got a tryout with the local MLB team and made the roster out of that first spring training. Really a local boy made good in every way. And when he opened a restaurant, he opened a diner across from Western Bowl (like saying "on Seneca by Caz Park"), not a downtown steakhouse (although he might have had one of those too). Pete Rose also lived in Western Hills. He never left the neighborhood. This was both good and bad. Pete got himself into debt. Everyone knows a bit about the gambling. but it was much worse than he admitted to. It has recently come out that he bet on baseball all during his career as a player, and owed lots of money to organized crime figures all around the tri-state area. Here is an article from the Dayton Daily News: https://www.daytondailynews.com/local/part-2-the-pete-rose-tapes/U7NP35XRMFAYTD3VBLQP5WMUIY/ So for his entire career he was in debt to organized crime because he was betting big money on baseball while he was a player (he owed $30,000 to one bookie 1973 and tried to pay it off by betting with another). This is a lot bigger than placing a few bets at Draft Kings. But then again, there is no evidence that he threw a game. In fact, he played at 100mph every second he was on the field. So, like I said, I'm torn.
  13. I'm afraid I very profoundly disagree. And I think societal pressures are a large part of the problem.
  14. The 2023 WR group was bad. And some of us were aware that was going to be the case heading into the season. Others were irrationally overconfident in guys like Sherfield and Harty and are like that every year in thinking guys will just be better because of Josh Allen. Allen and Diggs were producing at a high level early in 2023 but that was basically IT for positive WR play until mid-season. As teams got tape on the 2023 version of the Bills it became evident that the Bills passing offense was "chuck it to Diggs or Allen should run". So they began to adapt the passing offense to decentuate their feeble 2023 WR corps. Dorsey began it against Tampa and then after McDermott blew the Denver game by not keeping his defense on the field for the FG they handed the keys to Brady who began running the ball more and using designed runs for Allen that they had been strategically AVOIDING for the prior two years(over 9 carries per game under Brady in 2023). The Bills WR corps has gradually declined each season since 2020. They reached the point early in 2024 where they were so bad that there weren't many teams that had worse. Whether they are better than their 2023 or post-Cooper 2024 groups probably only matters if they get HUGE improvement from Coleman and both Palmer and Samuel play better than their 2024 seasons. They need to be much better than the 2023 group.
  15. Chiefs only playing in primetime this year.
  16. Which bit needed fact checking? Payton losing playoff games to non-elite QBs despite possessing an elite QB isn't an opinion. It is a fact.
  17. Anyone paying attention to the conflict saw that coming when the Islamic fundamentalists al Qaeda linked group too over because that's what they do.
  18. only if it cost $81
  19. My top ten games at Rich/Ralph/Etc. in no particular order: 1973 first home opener vs. Jets, a Bills 9-7 win. 1980 home opener vs. Fish, the streak is dead! 1980 vs. Rams, a 10-7 OT win. 1981 vs. Pats, the Roland Hooks game. 1990 vs. Jets, a comeback capped by a Jamie Mueller TD reception late. 1990 AFCG vs. Raiders, 51-3. 1991 home opener vs. Fish, Bills come back from 14 down to win in a wild shootout. 1993 AGCG vs. Chiefs, Thurman runs wild. 1995 playoff vs. Fish, the Tim Tindale game. 2012 vs. Vikings, Kyle Orton to Sammy Watkins for the win.
  20. I'm an outsider. Have not lived this but I can think of several ways for a discouraged male to improve things. Many women love to dance. Learn ballroom dancing at a studio and you'll meet many women. There are invariably more women than men at the social dances. Besides that, in lessons you frequently switch partners so that you learn to dance with everyone, up close and personal. I would suggest having a special interest in latin dances, especially salsa and rhumba...Also, join a gym. It will help with appearance, self esteem and is an opportunity to meet women. I agree that if the u80/20 rule is real, we are in big trouble. Like you said, free flowing bitterness, frustration and anger everywhere. Finally, I think that toxic masculinity turns most women off. They see self absorbed and insecure. they see someone that resents their success. that's not attractive. Dare I say, young men might do well to embrace their feminine side more.
  21. I usually just rub one out when I'm feeling this way, then I come to my senses
  22. I really wish it was that cut and tried. Human emotions are evert changing and they ebb and flow. I wish i had a dollar for everytime a had a client that was okay with a situation that has occurred within the relationship until the next session when we were once again back to stage 1. But you are correct that my personal concerns profits any of us very little (if any).
  23. The roids/HGH is a different thing altogether. Those people arent banned. They just can't get enough votes. I wonder if Rose and Jackson get in... and also a fringe HOF player like Cicotte.
  24. Gotta buy what former Bills players support.
