This changes everything. Browns readying Deshaun Watson's return.
Nihilarian replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
What's even crazier is that I believe that they were paying like five/six QBs at one time this season. Joe Flacco Dillon Gabriel Kenny Pickett Shedeur Sanders Deshaun Watson Bailey Zappe too? Just think, in the 2018 NFL draft, Cleveland not only passed on Josh Allen with the first overall pick. They also had a second shot with the number four pick. Baker Mayfield #1 and Denzel Ward #4. Thank you, Cleveland Clowns...the factory of sadness! -
The inherent issue with the structure of our defense is that if the offense flips the offensive strength via motion/shifts than we also have to flip our personnel to match. That's why we see so much more movement from our defensive front than you see with other teams. All of this is necessary so that we aren't forcing our Nickel to be a box player whenever a team shifts the offensive strength. In large part our issues in the run game are on plays where there is backfield motion as the ball is being snapped. We get caught in movement and often over pursue or get reached because we are too slow with our movement. Largely though we have struggled to stop gap run schemes. Our first level defenders are getting washed far too often which is creating enormous gaps and our second level defenders have not been good (Shaq included) at recognizing pulls and fitting according (especially with fast flow motion going opposite the pulls). This is mostly your backside backers (Milano, Williams). Bernard's biggest issue has been fitting too wide which then compounds when he tries to take on blockers with athleticism rather than shocking for a stalemate (when he does do this is looks good, when he dips and rips he often just gets kicked). I will say a lot of the blame being put on Bernard in the run game isn't justified. People see runs going his way and assume it's his fault. Often it's the fault of the backside backer not scraping over the top and fitting tight off the down/down and the play hits inside Bernard who has to set the edge when our ends spill the first puller (think Counter), or we are just completely getting washed down on the defensive line. Our run game has looked better the past few weeks largely because of scheme. We've been pinching our 5's and 3's and bringing someone off the edge far more lately vs the run than we did in the beginning of the year which is forcing the ball to go more sideline to sideline than north and south. It also allows our backers to stay clean and work over top of the trash to clean things up. As far as the two players - both Shaq and Bernard play with an edge. Neither are afraid to throw their bodies around or be physical. Shaq plays with his hands more which I personally like to see from a Linebacker standpoint, but ultimately what it comes down to is whether or not you can set an edge off a down/down and not allow the kick to widen you. Bernards key recognition is really good. His attack steps are quick and concise. His biggest weakness is he plays out of control at times. Shaq is a hair slower, but has fit things tighter (partly because he is a half step slower) and is more willing to use his hands to stalemate kicks. Last week the whole defense benefitted from the Steelers refusing to run an gap scheme which makes it easier on the fits as a whole (largely your gap pre-snap is your gap post-snap - unless there's movement from the DL or we play a crash 5 and plus the backers).

NOT REAL SMART, ARE THEY? Democrats Humiliate Themselves AGAIN With Another Epstein Drop. House Oversight Democrats embarrassed themselves again on Wednesday with yet another stunt masquerading as transparency. They released what they hyped as never-before-seen photos and videos from Jeffrey Epstein's private island. Dems postured as noble seekers of justice in their post on X: “These new images are a disturbing look into the world of Jeffrey Epstein and his island. We are releasing these photos and videos to ensure public transparency in our investigation and to help piece together the full picture of Epstein’s horrific crimes. We won’t stop fighting until we deliver justice for the survivors,” Rep. Robert Garcia, Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, said in a statement. “It’s time for President Trump to release all the files, now.” There was just one problem: The images weren't new at all. The post turned out to be the latest humiliation of Democrats in their attempts to anoint themselves as the party of transparency regarding the Epstein files. In fact, investigative journalist James O'Keefe and his O'Keefe Media Group had already made those same images public roughly seven months earlier. Even more ironic is that Democrats slapped unexplained redactions all over these previously released images. O'Keefe pointed out that his organization had released the same photos in May without any redactions, yet Democrats were "now redacting Epstein photos" for reasons they didn't bother to explain. https://pjmedia.com/matt-margolis/2025/12/04/democrats-humiliate-themselves-again-with-another-epstein-drop-n4946693 Honestly, I think they haven’t caught on that the legacy media can’t protect them any longer.

It’ll be tough for sure, but the odds of that happening aren’t nearly as difficult as people are saying

Big Ben on Mike Tomlin's Future in Pittsburgh
RyanC883 replied to ryguy101's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tomlin is totally stale. He won 1 SB with Big Ben, AB, and L. Bell, along with a great defense. That does not scream "elite" and "untouchable". Only the doofy Rooney's would continue to employ him and treat him like Lombardi or something. Heck, even Bill Bellicheck was shown the door after winning 6 SBs. Tomlin needs to go. And yeah, you can fire a guy like him, and you should. Why can't you. That's what Tomlin and Harbaugh (and perhaps McD) are best at. Culture reset pros. Nothing wrong with that. These guys rarely get the max when they have talented rosters, but they setup a system that another coach could come in and build off of. Wonder what happened of the rumors regarding Brady (OC) to PSU? Perhaps he is one of the next options? If so, and McDaniel got canned, he'd be a good OC here. It's funny. Tomlin has done a lot (or all) of the draft selections, and Pittsburgh's roster is really bad now. -

Bills 30 Bengals 28 -
It was Babich. I said after the Falcons game if McDermott takes over the D (and he needed to) the two things he would fix were 3rd down and pre-snap.... because those were coaching issues. And he has. There are plenty of other issues still with the D.... but the things that were very clearly coaching were fixable and have largely been fixed.

I don't think that Sanders is particularly divisive or controversial to his teammates. He's got some significant physical limitations as well as some terrible tendencies for a pro QB, but he seems to be improving and to be capable of motivating his teammates. -
That's crazy and seems almost impossible. Certainly would not be possible in the today's NFL.

Very embarrassing. You have jumped in feet first on “fishermen” being obliterated. Same as with every other republican-centric “scandal”. Please try to show some self-awareness. The NYT saw fit to comment. -

I remember a few health officials who lied to us. The Covid vax "stops the spread." It's "safe and effective."
