Mack Hollins is a National Treasure!!
BillsFanForever19 replied to Peace Frog's topic in The Stadium Wall
Again, it comes down to money and role. A 31 year old journeyman WR who overachieved the year before is going to want to cash in. We paid him 2.6m last year. Having someone sign you for multiple years for up to 8.4m is a big jump. Good team or bad team, no 31 year old WR is going to pass up more money and a bigger role for less money and a smaller role. This could be Mack's last contract. -
AJ Brown and Barkley yes. Mailata and Carter aren’t elite. Neither is McDuffie.

You needed advice because you said you weren’t sure if Purdy is better than Fields which is why you got jumped on. Everyone is sure that Purdy is better than Fields. So here’s the thing. I’m mot saying Goff is terrible. If I was defining him by a 5 pick game, he wouldn’t be a pretty good QB. He would be another Peterman. what I am saying is it exemplified the kind of QB Goff is. A QB that can be very good in a good situation with a good team. A QB who can unfortunately meltdown not uncommonly. And a QB who looks better than he is because he has a very good team around him, good enough to beat a playoff team despite their QB actively trying to lose it. -
No, but that makes it sting more. There are a lot of ways to get superstar talent. Honestly, Beane has a pretty good philosophy. He LOVES high-ceiling guys in round one. Guys like Ed, Josh, Edmunds, Groot, even Elam, had All-Pro potential physically if they could reach it. It’s just that outside of Josh, none of them have. I think TBD would be very boring if one of those guys had hit their peaks, because we’d have one Super Bowl and there would be very little to complain about.

Mack Hollins is a National Treasure!!

Elijah Moore isn't his replacement. They're different kind of players. Josh Palmer was brought in to be a more talented version of what Mack was and with a bigger role than Mack had. He moves Keon to the Z, with Shakir and Samuel (who I'd expect they plan on having a bigger role this year). Ultimately, between Shakir, Palmer, Coleman, Samuel, and Kincaid (out of the Slot) - I don't think whomever is WR5 is going to have much of a role. And honestly, I don't think they expected to use Hollins as much as they did. Between Samuel's Turf Toe to start the year, Coleman not being gangbusters out of the gate (and then being injured), and then Cooper getting injured almost immediately - he was pushed into having a bigger role than they anticipated. Bc of that, New England offered him a 2 year, 8.4m deal and a bigger role than he'd have here. I don't think they wanted to pay that for the small role of WR5, I don't think he wanted the smaller role he'd have here after we signed Palmer, and I think they wanted a speed element in the WR game (which Mack doesn't provide). He was a great locker room guy and a fun presence on the team. But they wanted an upgrade in talent on the Outside, as well as some speed as well. It really didn't make sense for either side for him to return. He'll have a bigger role and be paid better in New England. -

I don't think Goff's documented production or his tape supports such a dismissive assessment of his ability. "A less talented Kirk Cousins" is a crazy claim. #1 overall pick with a better athletic profile and college pedigree who's had SO MUCH more NFL success...it's just not close. I get that they're both pocket guys who throw a nice intermediate in-breaker, but come on! -

If we had one ring let alone enough to fill up nearly two hands we wouldn’t be talking about this. So I guess I don’t get the comparison.

Can one believe anything a democrat claims anymore? I think the definition of democrat is lacks integrity.

The only advice I can offer is that if you're a betting man, bet the Bills to beat the spread in that game.

Purdy and 49’ers extension. 5 years 265 million

I think Purdy is good, and he will probably play "good" not great on this deal. I think he can win a SB, and is a little bit above a pure game manager. But he can't elevate his team like the best QBs. Not even close. -
Maybe The Bills can have some game shoes made for Prather with flubber outsoles.

At first I did not get this, the Cowboys getting to the playoffs, or possibly winning the division!? I was thinking Milton was a defensive player they got in free agency. But then realized it was their backup QB! I had not read a lot of this thread, so that is likely why I didn't get it at first. If Milton does start, and if he looks like he did against the Bills, and I had never seen a better rookie first game my entire life, then the Cowboys may actually have an outside chance to make the playoffs. But with Jones' leadership, his obvious lack of ability as a GM and team leader, and his huge desire for the spotlight, any real leap this year is much less likely. But Milton may end up being his best move, a low risk shot worth taking. As Dak will never lead a Cowboys' team to consistent playoff victories or the promised land. A different kind of bad leader than Jones, but not a leader of men either. I cannot think of one supposedly good, long term starting quarterback who has looked more confused, out of touch, and out of his league when playing good teams, good defenses, than Prescott. Thank our lucky stars the Bills have significantly better leaders at every level of their organization. This is a vital part of the Bills' success, and the opposite is true for the Cowboys. -
Won't find it there my guy already looked. Thank you so much exactly the insight I was looking for. I watched week , 14 against kc last year his most productive game and I noticed 2 things. He is capable of creating separation on short to intermediate routes with crafty route running, he made several big time chain moving catches, and hes good st going deep over the middle.

I'd want to play at a place where I wasn't standing on the sideline as much. I know they get paid either way but when I used to play sports I hated riding the pine.

As a 31 year old WR on a 2 year contract…. You’d rather join a team with zero percent chance to win the SB over those 2 years and join a bunch of guys you’ve never played with before. 🤷🏻♂️ maybe he just loves McDaniel and would rather play with him. If that’s the case, no fault on Beane. Whoever it may be- Mack made big plays catching passes and blocking for long gains

We'll there's going to be one more game this Saturday at 4:30. It will be on ESPN2. But if you live close enough you ought to go. How often do you get to see a championship final? Bandits fans are a trip.
