  2. It's the difference between your average fan watching a Bills game, and what's being discussed in coaches' meetings. You're an average fan and get your info from average sources.
  3. The flood alarm systems were state legislative proposals that the Texas GOP repeatedly turned down, dating back to 2017. The weather balloon equipment is federal government property of the NOAA and NWS, with the DOGE cuts this year hampering their efficacy. “Hindsight is always 20/20,” you say. “Science is foresight,” says Kay. Criticize me for politicizing a natural disaster, if you’d like, but I think it’s disgraceful how reactionaries are shirking responsibility for their failed policies. Whatever. Let’s see if the fossil fuel-obsessed citizens of Texas can at least learn lessons from these floods. Maybe consider taking climate change seriously? Maybe have an actual state income tax to fund disaster relief and prevention measures? I’d rather not hijack this thread by spending too much time on the Gaza topic. A few notes: 1. You meant to say “Hamas,” not “Hezbollah.” Hamas is in Gaza, while Hezbollah is north in Lebanon. 2. Ethnic cleansing is defined as “the forced and systematic removal of an ethnic group in a particular area, for the purpose of making that area ethnically homogeneous.” This is EXACTLY what Israel is doing in Gaza. The northern portion has already been ethnically cleansed. Likud party leaders and Trump have already publicly declared their intentions of a full ethnic cleansing in Gaza. Israel’s food and aid blockade, destruction of hospitals and schools, full city razing, and well-documented war crimes on civilians and journalists is fulfilling their ultimate objective: make life there so intolerable that nearby Arab nations will be pressured to accept Gazan refugees en masse. The West Bank is next, by the way, according to Likud party leaders. Apartheid isn’t enough for these sociopathic degenerates. 3. The conflict didn’t begin with Hamas on 10/7/23. This has been a turbulent back-and-forth between Israel and Hamas since the Second Intifada. Neither side has a clear conscience. Since Gazans are the descendants of ethnically cleansed Palestinians in 1948, I’d actually set the genesis of conflict to the very conception of Zionism. And since Zionism is an illegitimate political and philosophical and religious movement entwined with ethnic cleansing, then yeah…I’m blaming Israel for starting it all. Don’t steal people’s land and expect them to not fight back.
  4. Improve: Coleman, Samuel, Dalton, Cook, That WR from Cleveland Regress: probably Taron, maybe Milano (if he plays log enough) For those saying Daquon, he already regressed. Not sure he makes the team this year. If so it's a spot role, so maybe he actual improves.
  5. This is the advantage of the McD scheme that everyone hates so much. You don’t need the Uber Expensive lockdown cover CB’s, so you can afford the rest of the team.
  6. Just know you’re supporting the greater good, Roundolph. You’ll see that, when you’re older.
  7. This move and yesterday's move puts them squarely in Dick Jauron territory for the next few years Just good enough for a few wins against the real bottom feeders, but no QB - and thus, a very low ceiling Plus, maxing out against the cap just to chase mediocrity It's wonderful being in a division with the Jets and Dolphins having similar roster-building philosophies The Pats deserve at least 12 more years of mediocrity too
  8. Yep. It’s all about the “fan experience” and all the amenities that implies. Creates more unshared revenue streams for the owners, which has been mandated by the league for all intents and purposes. Many folks have been priced out as a result.
  9. A contract based off of his rookie season.
  10. In the year twenty five twenty five, if man is still alive....
  11. The plan is to draft a QB in a year or 2 with key players locked up while the QB is on a rookie contract for at least 3 years. Not a bad plan if they find the right QB, but the last time the Jets drafted the right QB was 2000 when they drafted Chad Pennington, and even then it was the same year NE drafted Tom Brady 5 rounds later.
  12. Seems like a fair amount of effort for something nobody other than billslander is going to read. I’m sure it did something for you. Congrats.
  13. Christian Benford - $17.5m per year. Sauce Gardner - $30.1m per year. I like the Benford value more.
  14. Is MTG really that dumb? (Obvious answer is yes). Epstein killed himself when he was awaiting trial. He would have received a much longer sentence, like Ghislaine Maxwell, who got 20 years .
  15. No surprise here. They locked up two key players going forward that they can build around.
  16. I am just gonna put it out there... thats a lot of money to commit to a player that honestly is all world talented but really seems to be a bit of a physical and mentally injured problem... obviously the Jets feel different. I am feeling like he is turning into a bit of a head case... that will likely get worse if the Jets dont get better.
  17. This team is going to stupid themselves out of the market for a Qb
  18. Pretty much what I am saying... like you get what you get... if you are looking for a game wrecker probably not happening... so to me expecations need to be farily good starter with flashes... that said he needed more consistency last year...
  19. Last year an argument can be made that Allen did his best he could and Kincaid failed him. But then you can also say why didn't Allen recognize the perfect blitz the Chiefs were sending at the time? The year before, I really questioned Allen's decision to go for the end zone - I was thinking what Mahomes would do or Brady would do in that exact situation? Allen may never say it but I think that play may be one of those that drove him to make better decisions all of the 2024 season. I certainly hope Allen learned a lesson last year (there is something about making one less mistakes than the opponent) and keeps up this year and forward. In that sense, he closes the biggest gap between him and Mahomes/Brady. Speaking of Brady and making less mistakes than your opponents, isn't that the biggest strength of the GOAT? Pure football talent wise, Brady may rank outside of 100 of all QBs, and during his time in NFL, you can insert multiple QB names each year that analysts and fans said was better than Brady. Yet Brady won the most and that's what it counts at the end. For Mr. Joshua Patrick Allen, until he wins superbowls - yes probably needing more than one - no one should crown him the best QB.
  20. I kind of used that word tongue and cheek because I know the natural reaction by opposing fans is to point out all his flaws to make it seem like a bad move. He's top 10 to 15 at this point at 24 years old. His new average salary after next year currently ranks sixth in the NFL. By the time he's in the middle of that contract he'll pry be between the 10th and 15th highest aav per year. He definitely didn't give the Jets a hometown discount but it's a fair contract imo. I think his yardage will improve a little once they get a competent QB in there but I agree targets are targets no matter who's throwing you the ball. It's why I don't share the Elijah Moore enthusiasm.
  21. Aside from Benford, that was last year. Or at least, that was the most healthy a team can realistically expect to be at that point in the year. Pretty much everyone is dealing with injuries by January (we beat the Ravens by 2 points, and they were missing Zay Flowers), so last year seemed like our best shot. Our problem is McDermott's defense in general. It puts up very little resistance against good QBs come playoff time, each & every year. Their only saving grace is turnovers. Other than that, we aren't as clutch as the Chiefs. I know that's an abstract concept, but we had the ball in Josh's hands, with the game on the line, the last 2 losses to the Chiefs. Him & the offense couldn't get a 1st down & had to settle for a long FG 2 years ago, then last year we had 2 shots to take the lead, or at least get in FG range, but couldn't do that either.
  22. I think we would have beaten the Rams by two scores. I'm not sure we get by the Bengals. That actually might have hurt worse than 13 seconds.
  23. But he ran the fastest 40 time ever, BB is absolutely clueless.
  24. Lot of the NFL stadiums built in the last 25-30 years are now being replaced because they are considered not fancy enough.
  25. If we ever have a year where our defense isn't full of injuries and 3rd stringers by playoff time, that's our year to win the whole thing
