Superbowl and playoff’s thoughts
SoonerBillsFan replied to Italian Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is why you MUST hit on your 1st and 2nd round draft picks. -
here's some trivia for @Blackbeard et al how many years has Allen had a top 5 cap hit? and would knowing the answer assist you in wondering whether you can improve your team when you're paying a top QB contract
-
I think Indy/Houston will be the week 18 Saturday night game with the winner getting a wild card. Sunday night will be the Steelers/Ravens winner getting the North. Chargers will miss the playoff all together. I think the Bills make it out of the AFC if the QBs they have to go through are TLaw/Stroud/Jones, Maye and Nix. Bills go on to the Super Bowl where the Eagles or Rams await.
-
1. Rams 2. Eagles 3. Seahawks I don't think anyone else has a realistic shot, unless there's a crazy scenario like a starting QB is lost early. I guess it's so hard to understand because we seem to be the only team with this problem despite having only one superstar on the team.

It’s also some of the players we draft and bring in. Chargers fans are all over social media telling us yeaaaaa this is Josh Palmer.. makes a few plays, you think he could be something and then he’s out 6 weeks and nobody even knows how he got hurt. -
the actual point is that paying a top QB contract does NOT in fact preclude you from improving the rest of your roster as many recent teams have shown

I would not be surprised to see that Kraft lowballs pay, but is generous with gift certificates for 'other' amenities... -
All that matters at this point is getting into the playoffs. Not having the Chiefs in the playoffs would make it much easier for us since they are the only team that knocks us out each and every year. Screw the chiefs, Go Texans
-
The Bills were in that position once not too long ago.
-
The point is we don't have money to make bigger signings in comparison to a team at the beginning era of a rebuild. Why this is so hard to understand, i don't know.

Maybe, but his injuries the past couple years have been non-contact. I don't think that's a size issue. The knee injury that popped up on the report yesterday must have happened in practice where there isn't any real contact. There have been constant soft tissue injuries popping up with this team all year long, and really for the past few years. I don't want to automatically blame the training staff, it could just be bad luck, but the problem has been so persistent and happening to so many different players that it makes you wonder if some part of our conditioning process is broken. Things like Josh Palmer randomly popping up as a DNP out of nowhere and McDermott saying "it doesn't look good" in his last presser, that kind of thing doesn't seem to happen to other teams, certainly not with the frequency it happens here. I'm at a loss. -
And regardless of what Miami does leading up to that final game, it would be ideal for the cheats to still need the game to secure the division and/or playoff positioning. Then at least they still have pressure on them to win at the very end.

you act as remaining stagnant after paying a top QB contract is inevitable

She said "I don't believe you're tryin' to find no job" Said "I seen you today you was standing on a corner Leaning up against a post" I said "But I'm tired, I been walkin' all day" She said "That don't befront me Long as I get my money next Friday" Now next Friday come I didn't have the rent And out the door I went

The cap hit isn’t that bad, and he’s Lamar’s favorite target. Probably structured in a way to get out of it after year 2.

I agree with all your points, except the bolded. If McDaniel gets canned, he will, IMO prove to be a horrendous OC on his own. He basically brought Shanny's system with him and added speed. Once teams figured out how to limit the offense, he has had no idea how to evolve. He frequently gets locked into one mindset when calling plays and often abandons the run, despite his most dangerous offensive weapon being his RB. Not ideal when our best offensive player this year is our RB, and we tend to play more than a few games in bad weather every year. Add to that the Shannahan system he would likey run isn't really what Josh excels at. It's more designed for mediocre QBs with weaker yet accurate passing styles. Tua, Purdy, Mac Jones. Guy that get the ball out and don't go off script. That's not Allen and I frankly don't think McDaniel has the ability to tailor an offense around him. -
You act as if the Bills have the same cap space as the Pats. They aren't paying their QB gazillions of dollars quite yet.

“What did Ilhan Omar know about the $1B welfare fraud case in her Minnesota district?” Good question. Moore quotes Bill Glahn: “She had been inside the [Safari] facility on numerous occasions and couldn’t put two and two together? Either she’s terminally naive, or knew and didn’t care.” Good answer. https://nypost.com/2025/12/04/us-news/what-did-ilhan-omar-know-about-the-1b-welfare-fraud-case-in-her-minnesota-district/ -
