We do have a slight problem coming up
Roundybout replied to BringMetheHeadofLeonLett's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I’m anti-AI because I see it as ceding our humanity to soulless, unfeeling machines. We squishy bags of meat separate ourselves from the animals because we can make art and music. I find it highly disturbing that people would give that up just to save themselves time and effort to sit on their couch. -
Trade Deadline has come and gone
Buffalo Ballin replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall
There wasn't much available. Slim pickings. Also, takes 2 to tango in a trade. When the other side doesn't wanna deal, can't force them. One new DL guy, in our current situation, with all of these injuries and washed up players, not going to help. One guy will never be the cure all Magic Pill unless that ONE guy is the QB. Also, just ONE receiver? That's not going to help us. No chemistry/rapport built with Josh Allen and doesn't know the system. That's always built in the Summer. -

It's not right. That's life, but that doesn't make it right. 24 years old. -
do they miss Obama or life in 2012? I miss life in 2012. I made 45K and felt rich. 3.5% interest rate on homes which were 70% cheaper in asking price as well. Could go to the bar and get a mixed drink for $2 (and I did that a lot), and stop on your way home for a $4 combo meal at Burger King (I didn’t do that AS much)

RIP Marshawn Kneeland. 24 years young. Heartbreaking. -
One thing is for sure, there is not a day that goes by that Minnesota doesn't thank their lucky stars that they made that deal.

Awful. RIP. -
Exactly. If you allow for hindsight on the Diggs trade, then you have to allow the 31 other teams the benefit of that same hindsight. In that case, Jefferson would probably be the first overall pick, given what we now know about Burrow's injury history. At worst, the second pick. Tee Higgins probably goes top five too.

Awful. I hate to speculate, but I will. In absence of a police report / accident report, etc. perhaps this was some sort of congenital health issue / defect. You hear about athletes at all levels, dying suddenly from previously unknown health issues. Very sad. Prayers to his family and friends, whatever the circumstances are. -

James Cook, and the Underrated Value of Running Backs
ddaryl replied to Magox's topic in The Stadium Wall
RB Durability is the main issue here. Its hard to give a man 8 digit salary when the odds say the player will probabaly miss some significant time during the contract. This is changing somewhat, thanks to what we witnessed with Derrik Henry Saquan Barkley, and now Cook and some others. WR became over valued when the league shifted away from top RBs and used the pass to set up the run, but it appears that the run game is witnessing a resurgence across the league to take advantage of defenses designed heavily at stopping the pass. I agree the game is won and lost in the trenches, no RB is worth it if the OL can't create the holes, and same can be said about a DL that can plug those holes and rush the QB. I put a premium on the OL and DL because nothing can really work well without solid lines. No matter the phase the league is in the OL and DL have to work well for the offense and defense to work well IMO -

James Cook, and the Underrated Value of Running Backs
BillsShredder83 replied to Magox's topic in The Stadium Wall
Everything is cyclical! League has really started shifting back to running dominant in ~2021 (may be off a year?). Browns, Pats, Colts, Titans all had subpar QB play and doubled down on running the ball well to compensate. They were all teams we were better then that year, but I didnt want any of them in playoffs because of bad matchups. We were high flying air assault with the best of them... good - great at stopping pass. Tre Edmunds great in pass game, awful vs run. Those teams got further/did better than their talent suggested... they were bad matchups for a league that had went extra light w/ dfeenses to prevent/limit the pass game, while sacrificing in run defense! Everyone else with subpar QB play saw this, and it started to catch on and more and more teams went that way.... now its almost in full effect. But guess what, within 3 years, i bet we start to transition again! When we got Brandon Spikes, he was pretty worthless on most downs after being a dominant player for years.... Spikes would be coveted again if he came out now. Leo Channel was a throwback coming out. People loved his college gme, but thought it wouldnt bring much value in NFL. Chiefs were ahead of the curve though (knowingly or unknowingly). Gibbs is best RB in league IMO. Great OL hes running behind too -
I can go back to every draft since 1960 and do what if stories. Moving on.

James Cook, and the Underrated Value of Running Backs
Gregg replied to Magox's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cook has been the Bills best player this year and that includes 17. There are a lot of great backs in this league with Barkley, Henry, Taylor, Robinson to name a few. Cook is right there with them and now in the conversation for best RB in the league. In just 8 games this year Cook has 153 carries for 867 yards with 7 TDs and an average per carry of 5.7 yards. The Bills still have 9 games to play. If he stays healthy the stats he will put up this year will be outstanding. I don't know if he will get 2,000 yards but he will be close. -
B365, everyone is jumping on you. I hear you, man. Believe me, I do think about it, too. So do they, even if they won't admit it. Like that comedian, whose name escapes me, said a long time ago, "I wonder what chairs would look like if our legs bent the other way."

Josh Allen Returns to MVP Form-- Jim Kubiak BN
hondo in seattle replied to Casey D's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree. But Josh needs some of the credit even for that. How many times does Cook see a loaded box? Hardly ever. Teams typically play nickel with two-high shells against the Bills - what old-timers like me call "pass prevent." Generally speaking, opponents would rather give up a 5-yard run to Cook than a 20-yard pass from Josh. -
Serious question how good are 7-2 AFC teams (and LAC at 6-3)
Buffalo03 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I said on here earlier this week that as long as the Buccs don't turn it over multiple times and give them the game like we did, then the Buccs should win. People disagreed. We will find out
