Guys have absolutely learned to do baseline tests at less than full effort to leave themselves wiggle room. And not just in the NFL either; the practice has filtered down to lower levels as well.

the fact he is now back on the protocol hours later after such a recent history of being concussed and the blows we saw him take to his head.. That's my answer to the above bolded. I guess it boils down to wether or not the Dr's are objective enough to make an unpopular decision in a crucial game (taking him off the field) and wether a player can talk his way back onto the field even if he has one. Im not a Doctor. and we don't know how thorough their assessments were or are for that matter. For me it just doesn't pass a smell test . Thank you for the dialogue.

Mods, I urge you to ban this poster for polluting the site with specious, adolescent garbage.

Hahaha- I just can’t stop watching that replay
-
No and no when it comes to do we pick him up

LFG. I want to fight someone now. . . . . . we need you to give the pre-game speech!

Rapp's play last year was the exception. He was much better than I expected last year. What he was this year is the rule for his NFL career.

You are trying to tell me you were a doctor who had to diagnose things and this is the only explanation you have? Possible explanation that are more likely, the two largest majors are computer science and Math and Stats, which are both male dominant majors. Brown also likely promotes itself more to females making it more likely to get female applicants. Now if they show stats that indicate the males are getting in with lower SAT and ACT scores then I will agree but nothing has indicated that and the headline shows no understanding of what it is presenting.

Without who??? You sound like an emotional man who doesnt know football. Gonzalez might be the league’s best corner and Milton Johnson one of the best run stuffers.. I won't go into detail with the other names because you sound like an emotional fan instead of a person who can have conversations on football knowledge. Even I know some of the best players on your team.. though they force Josh Allen to try and do everything by himself which will not work against the Patriots. What is crazy is the fact that even though you guys got beat AT HOME you STILL have this cocky confidence due to the last few years of competing to get to the conference championship game and not the superbowl 🤔🧐 .. Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady, Brock Purdy, Matthew Stafford, Jalen Hurts, Joe Burrow .. at played at least once on Superbowl Sunday.. where is Lamar Jackson? Josh Allen? Be cocky once you actually make it to A superbowl.. otherwise you ain't won sh*t, stay humble

This roster is a disaster however…..

The Bills Sieve D… giving up 32/ are 3-0. The entire NFL Sieve Ds, also giving up 32/ are 6-61-2! You’d have to be entirely deluded to not comprehend that the diff in result is ALL 17! -
Not one 1st round WR drafted since Josh Allen's rookie year is mind boggling!
-
I don’t think this would be from lack of talent. They lost their QB for a significant amount of time. The Bills would be similarly worse off if we lost Josh for that amount of time.

Shaq Lawson is back on our roster as per your edit …signed him a couple of weeks ago …it was widely discussed here at the time …probably even more negatively than Jordan Poyer in this thread

Cooks getting open downfield will cure a lot of offensive ills for us. -
Hmmm. Bahhhhh. Bahhhhh. “Cooked”. “Toast”. Bunch of JV talent evaluators round these parts.

I suspect it’s the case of the tests arent perfect because the body and brain are rarely 100% predictable yet alone by other humans quickly on a sidelines quickly as possible we will see if something more to it but it’s third party outsiders

Why are we so late to adjust defensively?
HoofHearted replied to Ramza86's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, man is taxing. Add in condensed sets that make it difficult to sort out man responsibilities post-snap with all the switching that occurs. Add in the choice routes that just run away from your leverage. Add in a Quarterback who, as you stated, is smart and can diagnose all of this based on your pre-snap presentation. It still sound as good? There has to be a healthy mix in order for a defense to be successful. At the end of the day if you sit in one thing all game you're going to get picked apart. That first drive alone we ran 10 different coverages (Cover 3, Cover 4, 2 Man, Cover 6, Tampa, 4 Buzz, 2 Invert, 2 Sky, and what I call Combo (Split Safety Coverage), and Cover 1). If you're going to feel out a first drive and see how an opponent is going to attack you while still disguising and showing a whole heck of a lot of post-snap presentation I'd say we did a pretty good job of making Burrow think - all while showing tight coverage pre-snap to not allow him to get anything out quick to at least give our pass rush a chance (as bad as they are). At the end of the day, if we don't miss a tackle on a check-down to Perine it's a completely different start to the game. It's 2 man - he blew the coverage. You can see McDermott yelling at him from the sideline. Go peep TJ Sanders dropping into coverage on one of our Sims where we bring Poyer from the opposite side. Hancock blew the coverage. It was 2 man there as well. Left Tre hanging. Young players making young player mistakes. -
Maye played Cleveland and Atlanta and still put up 30 points. He has also played extremely well with out his star left tackle, another lineman and without Kayshon Boutte for a little while 2 defensive coaches.. Mike Vrabel is an excellent coach who also has one of the best offensive coordinators of all time in Josh McDaniels, with superbowl experience.

Virgil's OPs have become too negative for me, but we've already discussed that so no point in doing it again. I'd just like to add one thought. I already said in post game thread that McDermott gets a lot of heat for being too conservative, but he was as aggressive as needed in this game (apart from kicking the first FG, which was a good decision imo). After that, we went for each 4th down. He especially deserves credit for going for it on 4&goal with 3.09 min to go up 32-28 from 3 yard line. It required some Allen magic (with help from OL and Hawes), but it was bold and good decision anyway. -
Cool. If Pats lose this game, gives us the chance to win the division with even 12 wins.
-
As I said, I think it's by design. Nothing happens by accident with McDermott. Thanks. These are good points. When they got to Buffalo, they said their approach was that the team would get better every season. They were clear that they would not mortgage the future to make a quick run to the Super Bowl, followed by a tear down. That is not what they're trying to do.

Let me play devil's advocate. Where is there actual suggestion of malfeasance and/or negligence? Contrary to what 90% of people on this board are professing to know with certainty, hitting one's head and pointing to it does not constitute a concussion. Assuming the team physicians and independent neurological consultants followed protocol, and assuming there was no OBJECTIVE evidence of a concussion despite multiple assessments, including a reported assessment in the locker room at half time, what justification do they have for then holding a player out of the game? The league protocol doesn't suggest they hold players out on the suspicion despite a negative assessment. Higgins himself, after the game, said he underwent multiple assessments that he passed, and was then asked if he was comfortable with returning to play. This is not a compound fracture that is diagnosed with certainty the minute it happens. There is no fool proof test that identifies all concussions. Unfortunately, many of these instances become clearer with hindsight. For reference, here is the NFLPA response to the Tua incident with the "back injury" that outlines changes made to the protocol pretty clearly. Assuming Higgins had no concussion symptoms, and there were no "no-go" findings on his assessment, there was no medical obligation to hold him out of the game based on the current league protocol - https://nflpa.com/posts/concussion-protocols-where-we-stand-now.
