It’s definitely the run D. Massive problem. Perspective: Bills have rushed for 654 yards on 133 carries for a 4.9 ypc Our opponents: 657 yards on 109 carries for a 6.0 ypc. A little skewed bc of Henry - who has done absolutely nothing since facing us.

0-4 against the Bills is all that matters right now.

Basically what I expected. Best part was Jordan Phillips firing up the crowd for 5 minutes then taking out our best defensive player.

My thoughts on McDermott are still the same. He’s one of the best things to happen to this team in the last 25 years but he also might not be the guy we need to win it all. Both things can be true.

If our Defense lets us down again in the playoffs I don’t know how you keep running it back. Especially now that McDermott’s Defenses are meh to bad in the regular season too. Im just amazed at how we keep having the same issues, throw more assets at it, keep having the same issues. At least this year we have the hope of growing pains and young players, but this - so far - might be the worst version of this that I’ve seen.

Agree. We basically play a prevent defense, continually 12 yards off the receivers, we give up easy underneath yardage because our DBs are too slow and the pass rush seldom gets home. The D is based on making other teams drive the field and hope they make a mistake. And it works, if the O puts up 30+ points a game. Issue is, great teams with great QBs that we meet in the playoffs will chew up that D. This Defense makes every game, regardless of the quality of the opponent, a white knuckle game in the 4th quarter.

They are doing that so people bet on the Patriots. Bills ate better. But that point spread is too big.

We still complained about those same things when Tyrod was QB, and Losman, and Fitz.... Same as it ever was.

I wouldn’t touch that. This is the best Pats team in a while. Would not surprise me if the Bills split with them this year. If the offense can perform against a good Pats D we should win.

If they could more often than not get a stop on their opponent’s opening drive, the Bills might be able to better leverage their offense to produce a snowball-rolling-down-hill game script. But they can’t get early stops. Seven touchdowns allowed in their last 12 opening drives defensed (including all three playoff games), along with two field goals. What they consistently allow their opponents to do on opening drives is a huge issue, and it leaks into the rest of the game (today was a great example). It’s unacceptable.
