Return of the Tre! (Tre White signs with the Bills)
TheBrownBear replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hate to say it, but everyone is likely to get their wish soon. Given Tre's age, history and heavy usage it's only a matter of time before he breaks down again. -
Beans and Sean - Should we miss the SB again
DeltaDigital replied to Cubanmist 1's topic in The Stadium Wall
big huge facts. everyones still all starry eyed that he "saved the bills" which he did... but he's weak. the rex ryan hire should have told us that. The franchise simply got LUCKY with Josh Allen falling to them at 7. NOTHING more... without 17, Sean and Brandon would be schelpping auto insurance. -
Wow. Stefanski wasn't consulted and said that the "Joe trade" took him by surprise. What a way to run a franchise. https://www.si.com/nfl/browns-kevin-stefanski-shedeur-sanders-will-back-up-dillon-gabriel

Game strategy continues to elude McD
Goin Breakdown replied to WIDE LEFT's topic in The Stadium Wall
His worst game since Houston last year that just so happens to have Diggs playing on the other side as well. I really hope he can get past Diggs. Getting swept by the Pats is going to make for a long offseason. -
Well Colts just grabbed Pratt. I guess we have Spector though...

Game week thread - Bills at Falcons MNF
DrDawkinstein replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Those were great days in Atlanta. Not only could we get cheap tickets, we often got FREE tickets by going up to the ticket window at game time and saying "I was emailed a code for free tickets, I forget what it was but it was a player's name", and they'd just print us out free 300 level tickets. And for the record the Thrashers had a lot of die hard fans. Hockey was and still is big down here. But there are so many transplants, that games were often 50/50. For what it's worth, the Thrashers consistently averaged attendance around 14,000-15,000 in an arena that holds almost 17,000. The "new" Winnipeg Jets arena that they moved to holds a max of 15,000. Atlanta losing the Thrashers wasnt due to lack of fans. It was the ownership group that didnt know what to do with them. -
It would be pretty shocking, but they better figure it out quick. They have 2 wins against the Giants and the suddenly terrible Ravens. They have the Lions this week and if they fall to 2-4, with both the Chargers and Broncos in front of them, they are looking at the 6/7 seed. Meanwhile, the Colts and Jags are both 4-1 and the Pats* are hanging around too at 3-2 The AFC isnt a cakewalk anymore and right now the Chefs are having trouble closing games

The Upcoming Trade Deadline: 2025 Edition
Blank Stare replied to ryguy101's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not a trade, but go get me Stephon Gilmore to run at CB2 this season. Then sprinkle in Hairston when he’s ready. While old, Gilmore can play man and tackles. Speaking of tackling, go get me another LB, and I don’t care if it’s some mid guy in FA. Tackling is foundational and doesn’t require anything elite. Just a desire and want to. Wrap the F up. We’ve been so maddeningly poor at tackling this year. So frustrating. Hopefully, Shaq can fix it, but he’s basically just Carolina’s version of Milano. Hurt all the time. Like others have said, the need here with respect to a trade is receiver. Go get one of these guys disgruntled or rumored to be available. Olave, Shaheed, Addison, Moore, or AJ Brown. Enough with this patchwork unit that can’t separate. Josh deserves better and this is two years now of a terrible receiver room. Bunch of twos, threes, and fours, masquerading as ones, twos, and threes. It’s embarrassing with an MVP at QB. Doesn’t have to be this hard. -
I'd still rather not see the Bengals in the Playoffs if Burrow comes back in December.
-
You do everything you can the next 3-5 years. Push the cap hits out in the distance. When Allen is done you take the lumps for a couple years. Get an early pick to grab a QB and start the cycle over.
-
Good post OP. More often than not our defensive philosophy is based on fear, bend but not break, keep every thing in front. This is fine against many teams in the regular season as they’re not good enough to exploit it. But good coaches and qbs can and will exploit this, especially in the playoffs as we’ve seen repeatedly over the last few years. This was the Patriots with a young QB but they decided to pass more in the second half because it was plain to see how we were playing. If people think we’re a shoe-in for the one seed, get ready - it’s gonna be a bumpy ride with this D.

Babich was awesome as a position coach. Helping coach Milano to his 1st All-Pro and then did same for Poyer and that group. That had me hopeful, that we would see a fast/improved defense. We are now 20+ games in, and I am I'm hoping for McDermott to take over the reins.

Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)
The Wiz replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd like to know how far the grass goes over the sidelines. Going from grass to turf right on the edge seems like it would be dangerous so I'd imagine it going to carry over a few feet at least. -
buffblue started following Some changes you would like to see this week

This is what I was going to say. People forget that Ingram has looked good in limited duty. He would also bring a more physical presence in run support. There is almost zero risk imo - White has proven (unsurprisingly) that he should never see the field at this point. The excitement when the Bills signed him was laughable. He is beyond washed unfortunately

Bad Bunny will be the Super Bowl halftime act
Pecos Bills replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall
The NFL doesn't pay anyone to play the Super Bowl halftime show (beyond union scale which is about $1000/day), so its entire value to the artists is as a publicity stunt. Also, the NFL is running a "Por La Cultura" campaign over this whole season to cultivate their Latino fanbase, which they claim is already over 39 million people in the US. -
It also was the first time since Brady was here a QB made some legit great plays in division where you had to tip your cap. Don't like that he is on the Pats as it will be an obstacle down the road, but respect Maye a ton and like how the kid plays. Tua I never was bothered by because you could see he was the sum of the parts and while he can be very good he has limitations. It is obviously still early with Maye, but he showed the stuff that makes a QB a long term answer for a team.
-
hes on the field for about 23% of offensive plays
-
The Falcons have a light front 7 that hopefully the Bills can roadgrade a bit. Penix is also a tier or two down from Maye and will hopefully help us with a few misses here and there on key downs. The matchup isn't that bad imo.

Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)
UConn James replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hope there isn't a huge contrast between the real turf and FieldTurf border when things start and as next season goes along. Is there any word on what type of grass is being used? I was reading awhile back about buffalo grass that is slow-growing, doesn't require much for watering, and stays green for longer and was like... just for the name, we ought to be having some of that in the grass seed blend. I'm assuming there will be some testing done on how it holds up to foot traffic & sports use either in a couple of months or at latest in early spring. -
learn german or chinese. much more useful and professionally accelerating.

I do not buy the trap game angle,,, as they had their "trap game" scares when they were huge favorites over Miami and NO and both games were tied or barely ahead in the 4th Qtr. Like every recent season, I think the Bills fall victim to their regular season "greatness" and how Vegas and media anoint them as SB favorites. The players since week 1 feel like no matter how iffy the game is going, they will pull it out at the end...because they are the Buffalo Bills. Well guess what, when the opponent wants the game more than you? a comeback is not always going to happen. McDermott does a nice job trying to keep the guys humble and hungry but it's human nature as a player to think your team is awesome and nothing bad will happen. They forgot about attention to detail in the NE game, and how hard they need to outwork the opponent. Simple as that.
