Report: Micah Parsons requests a trade
Sierra Foothills replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
You're wrong. The Bills didn't even re-sign Defnede after the 2023 season... his 3rd season on the practice squad. Per the rules governing the NFL's International Pathway Program (IPP), Defnede no longer qualified for the program and he's not even in the league anymore. Last I heard he had returned to his native Mauritania and was pursuing a degree in water table management. -
I will give up Mitch Trubisky and a 4th
-
Year before that, we lost DBs and LBs. The 13 second game our DBs actually cost us with poor play. And speaking of playoffs...how many SBs has Micah Parsons gotten the Cowboys to? You are correct. It was insensitive of me. I apologize.
-
I actually agree with you that the Bills need to make a move like this. The problem is that they already chose a different path this season and can no longer realistically make something like this work. But talk to me next offseason when they can make it work. I’ll be down for it. I don’t think Parsons gets moved before then anyway. I expect Jerry to make him play this season and then tag him next so he can trade him. That way he’ll eke out all the “cheap” seasons from him and have a chance to replace him in FA or the draft.
-
As I have stated in every post in this thread, I still very much doubt he leaves Dallas. Especially with Jerry's ego, he isn't going to like trading him when it wasn't "his" idea now that Parsons has gone public about it. But lets assume it really isn't gonna get done there and they do trade him (and honestly, they should as that roster isn't winning anything any time soon, load up on new assets to retool the team). Bills feel unlikely given the cap impact, however, the one thing I will say is never doubt Beane. If there is a GM in football that can make the cap work, its him. And he has proven to make moves when he wants to make the move. I also don't feel like he is a "must" add player anymore - where I did feel that way before the draft. I really like what we did this offseason up front, I like what I am hearing about 2nd year guys like Solomon, etc. Obviously nothing is proven on the field yet for the young guys or what Bosa can be this year, but I think our front 7 is a lot better today than it was the day the season ended. And I think our secondary is going to be better too which also helps the front guys as well. But hey, if we can get Parsons, then damn I would be excited to say the least. I still think its very unlikely they trade him, and unlikely that if they do we can offer the best package.

Smart enough to not spell defense correctly 😂 Look, it’s a stupid trade off. We could get an all pro year out of him. But his perceived value is very down. Find another path, I’m all for it. Including multiple first rounders.

Training Camp 8/1 - Return of the Blue and Red

His selling points were body control, hands, high point ability, Rac, size/strength, change of direction and upside. I wasn’t the biggest fan of drafting him for this team due to Josh’s tendencies as a passer. I figured he’d be best with a QB with pinpoint accuracy that had the tendency to throw into tight windows and give his guys a chance to make a play. If Keon is going to hit his ceiling, he’ll need Josh to trust him and take plenty of chances on 50/50 balls. i agree that his hands better be stickier than what we’ve seen from him in a Bills uniform. I just think he’s going to continue to improve in almost every aspect. -
This is all interesting info, but what does the Circle the Wagons podcast think????😁

Allen will be 32 when that 3rd first round pick is drafted. Must sell out to win now. We have no idea how his body will hold up after he turns 30. Parsons puts them over the top just like Cornelius Bennett did. Think about, is Parsons worth Hairston, Kincaid, and Coleman?? He's worth far more than those three players. -

Yes, there's no question that the Bills are a better run organization than are the Cowboys. You've made some strong posts in this topic but I wish you wouldn't play the Stevie Wonder card. Imagine if he was a Bills fan and read this forum and he read your post... how that would make him feel??? -

You have crib notes? -
Parsons will never hit open free agency, so if a team wants to acquire him it’d have to be through trade.
-
Where did I say Cut Milano? Include him in the trade get the 3M. Space. But I get it let’s continue to roll out a plan that doesn’t work. And at the end of the year we will be once again asking where was the pass rush

Gonna play this bushhoging. Thanks for posting and saving me from finding it! -
We would save less than $400k in cap space this season if we cut Milano. That would be less than even league minimum salary for a replacement. So I’d say you SHOULD about that if you’re looking to create cap space.
-
We had the largest dead cap hit in NFL history just 1 season prior. We whiffed on Von Miller. We are still fine. I think the fears of “cap mess” are greatly exaggerated imo.

Football isn't toast. Accountability is toast. You play football, like any other job, you need to face the reality you take risks. Football isn't even the top of the lists for most dangerous sports. *****, being a dental hygienist as a career is more damaging. These guys are paid handsomely and need to have more than a room level IQ to realize they're not being friendly to their body as modern day gladiators. But it is far and between a player lasts over 5-6 years so by 30 they're done and should be well off.

And the Dead money still saves cap money to make the move. Hence why I DONT CARE.

dead money counts on our cap
