Way too early Playoff picture (not anymore)
CincyBillsFan replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall
And Tampa Bay did it in 2021 winning three straight road playoff games to make the SB which ironically was a "home game" for the Bucs. -
ok, but that door is slammed shut if la wins.

There’s something different about McD this season…

I'll admit i haven't seen much from Ogunjobi, but he's only played 150 snaps this year. Appears Phillips has taken over some of his snaps after he signed to replace the injured Oliver and Sanders. Sanders coming back has seen him play a bit on the outside at times because of injuries and ineffectiveness against the run, so ogunjobi seems to fall somewhere behind Walker Jones and Phillips. I do think he profiles similar to oliver, but he just doesn't seem to disrupt things as much. -

Totally agree and am pulling for that, as I’m holding out hope the Bills can slide into that 1 seed 😎. If the Bills do that, they’ll be like +300 to win it all, heading into the playoffs. -

The GIF of Gesicki's TD celebration needs to go up next to Zay Flowers' Queen wave on the permanent bulletin board. Both reminded me of Haywood Jeffires twerking for the camera before the planets shifted in the Comeback, and Bryan Smolinski's smirk after scoring a late goal in that crazy 7-6 Ottawa-Buffalo playoff game (yes, Virginia, the Sabres used to play in those once upon a time). Karma is an absolute b1tch and I love her for that. -

that’s what made the first game against them so dumb. For whatever reason, it felt like Josh (or Brady or both) wanted to challenge the patriots corners or get Keon going. They have great corners. Why throw at them? -

That's kind of a contrarian way to look at it. If Reid/mahomes, Burrow/Taylor, Harbaugh/Jackson, Shotty/Dak, Campbell/Goff don't even make it to the Playoffs it would seem McD making it again would be thought of in a more positive light. The plan had been get many bites at the apple - they are doing that. The more shots the better the odds that one will hit. Looks like another attempt is going to happen this year whereas it won't be happening in Dallas (and maybe not in Detroit, KC, and even Baltimore). If McD didn't make the post-season it would not be better for him, not at all. -

I was listening to the all 22 review LockedOn Bills podcast and had the thought of just how much one player can change a unit. Joe Marino remarked how Shaq was sprinting behind Benford during the pick six. Shaq just brings an attitude and confidence to the D we haven’t had during McD’s tenure. Allen Cook Benford Shaq Bosa Kincaid is 5 B -
Was at the game... can confirm it was to avoid a delay of game. Team was busy celebrating and not getting lined up. He called it with about four or less seconds on the play clock. I think he was also trying to argue that they set the play clock too soon, but the refs didn't budge and he was forced to take it.

I mean the stadium itself was absolutely bonkers at that moment. You have the sideline and stands going berserk. Poor conditions on a side of the field that has accumulated some snow, so you need to brush off the ground. It was too important to go up 4 there to take a penalty and potentially miss the kick.

There’s something different about McD this season…
Robert Paulson replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
The defense has improved from the first half of the season. Players have been substituted ( i will add that it appears to be reluctantly under the guise of injuries) but weak lb, both safeties are much better now. There is almost no pre snap confusion now which helps- that improved with the play call switch. I still don't like it that they try the rush 4 deep zone philosophy to start every game before going to a style that works- blitz packages and press man. Sometimes we cant get out of the hole we dig. -
1) Bad for 6 and better for 5 is how you have a "bad" 115 passer rating against going into week 13. I think there was a premature rush by some to point out that he wasn't giving up much yardage after the bye........when the team itself was leading the NFL in least passing yardage allowed......largely because they were getting trampled so easily on the ground. He's gotten back to himself and may even be leveling up even in recent weeks. 2) Yeah certainly appeared that he was playing tentatively. 3) Contract slotting is really just a GM/agent tool. Contracts are first and foremost about timing. I think you have to judge a player on their performance relative to their peers and how that relates to the highest aav at the position. It's simpler and also very imperfect but more genuine because you don't have to exclude players with less than 4 years experience and players who are over performing their poorly timed contracts etc. etc. That's why I never use slotting to support or discredit a player but will use PFF.

You mean like the Rams getting bold and winning a Super Bowl? Yeah, sign me up for that. -
I wouldn't say it was the only choice, but I was surprised myself. Mostly for two reasons: the playing conditions would seem to give you a (slightly) greater chance of recovering the onsides kick, and the fact that the Bills hadn't punted the whole game. I would have thought Taylor would want the ball more than hoping his defense could stop the Bills offense. But I can see it both ways. Now back to the OP topic...
