He showed amazing flashes with terrible coaching last year and this year he has gotten light years better and his accuracy is also better (and was a concern coming out of college) his deep ball isn’t going suddenly get inaccurate especially if the line can hold up for a couple of seconds.. does that mean he definitely will get better no? But by your thinking that means Allen could fall off a cliff next year because well it just happens.. also teams have 25 games on him and the Bills didn’t stop Maye the game plan did again 31 points you didn’t stop the Pats O you won a shoot out.. the hole “well in the last 2 minutes” line fails realize the O gave the D the lead with like 4:18 seconds left and they couldn’t hold it for 2 minutes!!  This hole “Maye is trash or average” is just Bills fans wishful thinking.  You won a shoot out because our D stunk just a little bit more than your D.

This is not so black and white. You need to understand context. When Kincaid was out (and usually another receiver or two are injured, benched, or suck), opposing teams stack the box. When Josh has no one to pass the ball to, teams sell out to stop the run. If Josh has a somewhat healthy receiving corps, oppposing teams have to respect Allen’s passing game, even if that means giving up yards to Cook. 
 

Trust us… this is a Bills board… we have watched every single play for the past many, many years. The Bills offense lives and dies with Josh Allen.

I joined the conversation late, so I haven't read alot of the back and forth here. While the bolded is true, so has Allen the last few years. He's got a number 2-3 receiver in Shakir and bunch of other, can't-stay-on-field, receivers. He still puts up big numbers. Maye is good/very good. But the narrative that he's already better than Allen is kinda ridiculous at this point. Such a small sample size. I will say, it looks like the Allen / Maye duel is going to be a good one for the foreseeable future. I don't like it, but have to admit it. Maye's deep threat passing could be a problem if he has weapons. At least the other 2 teams in the division will be something else for awhile. 

 

With all that said. Bills won.....so

Maye had some insane highlights his rookie year too.. not the same as Allen because we’ll be is a Maye not Allen… but he showed amazing flashes with some amazing plays.

If anyone was waiting to see if Maye has a weak spot.. one game doesn’t make a trend, but it’s something to keep an eye on.

I wasn’t saying he has stunk this year but even today.. if the Pats stopped Cook the Bills lose.  This has more to do with the talent around Allen.. outside of Kincaid there isn’t a receiver that will scare a good D.. be honest the team scares me in the playoffs isn’t any division leader right now but the Texans.. that D could bring that crappy O to a SB

Or the Bills won because their O was slightly better than the Pats O. It's the about face of desperately trying to give Allen no credit whatsoever for the Bills won which I find odd considering you were one of his biggest cheerleaders on here when he was struggling.

Such a weird point you're making. We beat Tampa, KC, and Balt and Cook didnt do much.  And you guys did the best against him in week 5, no doubt.

 

But like, we're a dominant running team and Cook is a top 3 RB. So obviously we win a lot and we run him a lot in those wins. 

 

Really though, we're a pretty well balanced team that can rely on both Josh AND Cook to run or pass. Unlike your second half today, when you could rely on basically nothing except one missed defensive containment by the Bills.

That usually doesn’t happen for a hole game teams usually get it for a quarter and they adapt.. they never stopped trying to run because the game was close and the run game was being effective most of the game. (Aka they got the lead witha 65 yard run)
