The game against the Bills was the first and only one he was inactive for. Why was he inactive and now contemplating retirement? Got a lot left in the tank huh? Quote
RyanC883 Posted 58 minutes ago Posted 58 minutes ago If we lose Ingram and Slay just retires that's a hit. Hopefully Slay is saying he wants to play for Philly or Det, and we can get a 5th or something for him and Ingram back. I wonder if Philly grabs Ingram now to see if we trade straight up. 1 1 Quote

Why would he want to move to a new city he's never been to before for two months before retiring? I am shocked the bills put in a claim to be honest. You might be the only one here shocked. This is becoming the go to team for past nfl players to go to for retirement after their talent is about gone 1 1 Quote

So we were worried about the Eagles getting an inactive CB, then we would expose Ingram to waivers. So if we have a CB injury our next move would be a guy on the practice squad If Ingram got claimed and Slay doesnt report. Ok got it. I guess the sky in your world is rose colored. Oh yeah and I have to hear about McD loving guys who know his system, because its so complicated for a new guy to come in and learn it. Quote

Not sure they’ll be that petty, but I believe it’s an option. The problem with that is that players talk to each other and word gets around fast. A front office with the rep for screwing players over isn't likely to be very successful in free agency. We also can't trade his rights because we're past the trade deadline. Although if we see the Rams benefit from a late-round swap with the Eagles in the offseason that doesn't make much sense.... just know we were the middleman in it. (Eagles get Slay, we got Cooks, and the Rams got a higher draft pick for backing off and letting Cooks go to us). 1 Quote
Charles Romes Posted 50 minutes ago Posted 50 minutes ago 1 minute ago, Shortchaz said: People keep suggesting trade, how would that be possible? can’t trade now. The Bills should be able to put Slay on reserve/failed to report. That will open up a roster slot on the 53 and they can re-sign Ingram if they want as long as he clears waivers. If anyone wants Slay, they will have to wait until 2026 and then deal with the Bills who retain his rights. 1 Quote
T.E. Posted 50 minutes ago Posted 50 minutes ago They should let him walk and then use it as a rallying cry for the Eagles game in a few weeks. "The guys in the other locker room...they think they're too good to play here! They think they're better than you altogether!" Quote
papazoid Posted 50 minutes ago Posted 50 minutes ago i say he is looking for a team who has an immediate starting role. thats not buffalo. call his bluff.......play for us or retire 1 Quote
DasNootz Posted 47 minutes ago Posted 47 minutes ago (edited) Just my guess... The bills will hold him until Ingram clears waivers. If he does, they'll bring him back and release Slay. Edited 47 minutes ago by DasNootz Quote
