Hard to believe we sit here in week 12 and both the #1 seed and division are all but out of reach, Instead, we find ourselves jockeying through the muck of a competitive wild card race...Lots of ways to look at week 12 rooting interests given our current predicament. Who you got?

  • Steelers/Bears - go Yinzers. Keep the pressure on Baltimore for the division (Ravens should easily handle the Jets today). We can hopefully handle our business with them next week and earn our head-to-head tiebreaker
  • Giants/Lions - don't care
  • Jets/Ravens - go Jets, but chances of them beating the Ravens on the road are 0%
  • Patriots/Bengals - Bengals of course but hard to see a win without idiot Chase
  • Vikings/Packers - don't care
  • Colts/Chiefs - as stated above, the 1 (and even #2) seed is all but out of reach for the Bills, so I'm not worried about "catching" the Colts anymore - we just need to hang on for dear life for a WC spot. Chiefs lose this game and their chances of even making it to the playoffs takes a major hit. Screw Kermit and Kelce. Give me the COLTS!
  • Seahawks/Titans - don't care
  • Jags/Cards - conflicted on this one as we are in direct competition with the Jags for WC positioning. While the Colts have a brutal remaining schedule, not sure I see the Jags leapfrogging them for the division. Part of me wants the Jags to win to keep ahead of KC & Baltimore for that last spot, the other is worried if they stack too many wins and we drop more stupid games, they could box us out of the playoffs
  • Browns/Raiders - how depressing is this one? Guess we'll see if Shedeur flashes any potential? Sure hope not, as after the Texans debacle I can see their D steamrolling our O when we play them in December and us losing if they can find even remotely competent QB play.
  • Eagles/Cowboys - screw Jerry (also, thanks for giving us picks for Elam lol)
  • Falcons/Saints - meh.
  • Bucs/Rams - give me the Bucs for strength of schedule, but hard to see them going into LA and beating the Rams with how banged up they are
  • Panthers/49ers - see Bucs/Rams - give me Carolina for strength of schedule...

Honestly, if you really feel the division is out of reach (I do at this point) I'm pushing for the Pats over the Bengals. Keep them pushed down and out of the hunt.

Likewise, I'm pushing for the Cards over the Jags to keep the Jags down lower.

Unless CIN runs the table, they shouldn’t be an issue for us.  10-7 is probably the line and unless we lose three in a row, we’ll have the tiebreaker over PIT & BAL and/or knocked CIN down to 8 losses with a tie-breaker over them.

Im pulling for them to beat NE, not only for the faint hope of the AFCE, but I also want that game on Thursday with Burrow & Chase returning to have as much juice as possible.  It’s do or die for them either way, but looking at schedules, even more real coming off a win.

My rooting interests for the rest of the season are basically Bills get in and Baltimore, KC get left out.  If NE beats CIN, I’m probably to the point where I’d root for them to beat Baltimore, because I wouldn’t see them losing to the Giants, Jets or Dolphins.

For whatever weird reason this year, I’ve been very avoidant of watching other games when we lose. It’s like none of the outcomes have really been going our way. I do think the division is completely out of reach. But as long as those squads behind us loses, and the Ravens don’t win their division, I’m confident being a wildcard. The Bills have shown even with all of their turnovers and terrible defensive showings, they’re still within reach of winning those games. If we can eliminate the turnovers to no more than 1, and 1 not at a bad time during a game, they’re very capable of being successful in the playoffs. Of course I want the Chiefs, Patriots, Ravens, and Chargers to all lose. But they all will more than likely win today. 🤣

Yeah, I really think there is no "wrong way" to look at it. I think it's based now on if you see a path to the division still for the Bills. I see the path, but I don't have confidence the Bills will be able to take it. I'm out on our division title opportunity and focused on Wild Card.

As such I just don't want a Cincinnati team that still feels like they can make the playoffs. They already lost 3 in a row and could easily drop the next two to New England and Baltimore before facing us. I would love that for them.

Kind of a weird week. Almost all of the AFC teams are done after the 1pm slot. I think the dream of the #1 seed is pretty much dead unless we win out (I think there is a pretty good chance 13-4 is the #1 seed record this year). The division is hanging on by a thread, but need the Pats to lose today. Come on Flacco! Unleash the elite dragon!

I actually think the Pats could lose today. Vrabel is a good coach, but an away game against a bad team is the type of game a young team doesn't necessarily get up for.

They are not going on a run with that defense.  It even makes our defense look good in comparison by a good bit.

I see people saying they don’t want to face Denver’s Defense or Indy’s running game in the playoffs.

I am 100% going to bet on Josh Allen vs Daniel Jones, Josh Allen vs Bo Nix and honestly.. Josh Allen vs CJ Stroud as I don’t think the Texans, who are a horrible matchup for our Offense, would do that twice, in one year, in the Playoffs.

We’re going to have to play someone.  Give me any game where we have the decided QB edge in the postseason.   Only games where that isn’t decidedly in our favor.. Burrow, Jackson (moreso due to his running game), Mahomes.

Not putting Maye there until he does it in the playoffs.. I see Herbert look good most years and in his playoff games, disasterclass.

I seem to remember having to play an elite defense in the WC last year.  Allen & Cook went bonkers on them.

Sometimes we get "fan scared" lol.

I keep reading posts here from fans wanting to avoid KC & Baltimore, even Cincy.

We know the Bills are schizoid, but look at those 3 aforementioned teams....they're schizoid as well.

The AFC is wide open. If the Bills can't make any noise in the playoffs, it's time to clean house, bottom line.

i’m sorry, but the only thing I’m keeping an eye on today are AFC injuries. That’s what the NFL has become. Which good teams have the least injuries which helps them to make it to the big dance.

I'm at the point does it even matter anymore? Whatever I want to happen today won't happen.

Bills will maybe make the playoffs if they finish 3-3. Big IF

Then get curb stomped on the road in the playoffs.

Tell me why the division out of reach? The Patriots lose a game or two outside ours and we're right back in discussion. They get an injury to a key player and it can happen. Such a defeatist attitude. The Conference is tougher sure but on any given Sunday anything can happen.

Today would've been alot more fun had the bills won thursday (obviously). However, I can't shake the feeling that even if the bills get in the playoffs, they're just not gonna go anywhere. So I kinda just feel Meh about the outcomes of today's games. Obviously it'd be great to see the pats lose and kc lose though

Well, they did lose one of their two star defensive tackles for the next month. But the football gods conspired to make sure Burrow and Chase wouldn't play against them this week. That, combined with the rest of their schedule, makes the division pretty much out of reach.

Why would you want Pitt to win any games? Knock any AFC contended down at this point in time unless they’ve run away with their division.

There is a good chance that our first match up in the playoffs is an away game against the winner of the AFCN. Our defense matches up pretty poorly against the Ravens rushing attack (as evidenced by the last 3 match ups in a 15 month period). So, I could see people hoping that the Steelers win the division and the Ravens miss altogether. I mean, somebody has to win the division there...
