KentuckyBillsFan Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Beane for me.. Josh Allen has never played on an above average roster. 3 Quote
BVBILLS Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago All of the above, for sure, mostly how the roster was filled and bad draft picks. Quote
BVBILLS Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Does Mc Clappy realize he is just as guilty of this? McDermott added, “I believe in our offensive staff,” but it’s clear that the offensive scheme needs to get better. Right now, the whole Bills’ offense revolves around expecting Allen to make plays, even when he’s under relentless pressure. That’s not a winning formula. 1 Quote

Freddie's Dead Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago All of the above, add in Babich and Tabor and the entire training staff, etc.... Quote
SCBills Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Beane, followed by Brady. But the reason we’re in this mess year in, year out at OC is because we have a Defensive Head Coach who can’t seem to field a competent Defense. Good times! In all seriousness though.. It’s Beane by a mile. This roster is in rough shape and he blew our reset/JA second window on a dumpster fire 2024 Draft and recent extensions that look horrible in hindsight. But even if Josh had weapons on the outside.. does it matter with Brady? He couldn’t make it work with Diggs. His concepts in both routes and protections are JV level. Quote
Success Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago It's both Beane & McDermott. One thing that I will never understand is why we do not hire REAL COORDINATORS. We have a puppet on the defensive side, and a promote-from-within with no OC experience on the other. How is that even possible when you have a talent like Allen at QB? Why aren't we taking coaching seriously? 1 Quote
MJS Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I think Brady is the biggest issue by far. Next I would say Beane. He is too obsessed with bringing back his own players. He gave bigger contracts to Samuel and Palmer who we barely use (maybe that's on Brady, though). 1 Quote
billsbackto81 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I'm going McDermott. The perceived notion that this defense at one time was considered elite (statistically) during his tenure is such a fallacy. Just look at this units playoff success and not regular season beating up on AFCE tomato cans. I won't say his beloved nickel scheme can't work, but he doesn't have the right make up of players currently to make it formidable. Its basically the same scheme Houston runs but theirs sure looks a whole lot different doesn't it. It was fairly successful when main cogs like Taron, Milano and Tre were in their prime, but that ship has sailed. Sure, offense is a problem at times but it's still capable of putting up points in bunches. Yeah, it's McD for me. Until we get the Dawgs that can excel in it we're just spinning our wheels as we continue to keep and restructure washed players. 1 Quote

He gave bigger contracts to Samuel and Palmer who we barely use (maybe that's on Brady, though). This is the biggest fault I have for him. Look, in theory I do get it. We hear it at every end of season presser he does. To paraphrase: "We don't feel we are far off. We had a few key injuries, a few young guys in there and we still were two or three plays away from winning". He's right. We get close every year. And being close puts in his mind that if we "run it back" and make a few tweaks, we will accomplish the goal. It's not a horrible train of thought. But to run it back, he only sees the positives taking place. - Injured players will return and be at full health. - All young/developing players will take a step forward - Zero older player will regress. In the real world however, it doesn't always play out the way he plans. And while Beane is focused on beating his White Whale in the playoffs (Kansas City), other teams have rebuilt, caught up and passed us. For YEARS, Beane has gotten to rest on his laurels because we get the guaranteed path to the playoffs with the AFCE title. Easy peasy, right? We're in and then anything can happen. Times are changing. The division, at least in this season, runs through New England. Beane likes to say "the playoffs show you exactly where you need to improve" or something like that. Well, what about not making the playoffs altogether? Houston, right behind us with a tie breaker. Kansas City can always rip a win streak and Baltimore is back healthy with momentum. There's a real chance that after the final week we are on the outside looking in. 1 Quote
ColoradoBills Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Everyone in the organization needs to take a bite of this crap sandwich. Even Josh (who admittedly is the least to blame) needs to be accountable. I will just bring up an example that yesterday's game shed a light on. Josh does not like to do quick throws and hasn't his whole career with maybe the exception of Beasley. The O sure needed a bunch of them last night. Brady and O have to make schemes like that available for times like this. That is just one thing that shows the disconnect of the team in general. There isn't even anyone in the wings that could take over for Brady and that is on McDermott. Brady's playcalling obviously has so many "tells" that the opposing Ds might as well have the call sheet. He also has zero sense of stringing the plays together to keep the D honest. It really is bad. The deep handoff on 4th and 1 make me just shake my head and say, "He has to go". Whether Beane/McDermott around next year is an offseason question. Right now, the offense has to get fixed in 10 days. Quote
DaVinci Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago The owner let's this circus marygoround go on. Bean was giving multiple chances to build a better roster but has failed. McDermott seems to collapse in critical situations. The issue is if Bean and McDermott get another chance and it doesn't work Allen is most likely done. Quote
Bill51390 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago It’s Beane all day. He’d been fired long ago if it wasn’t for Allen. Thankfully we have Allen and this could get turned around this offseason, if the right decisions are made. If we gotta stick with Beane and McDermott they better wake up and realize their philosophy on players doesn’t work. Quote
billsfan714 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Both Beane and McD. I think we have already seen their ceiling with a generational QB and are going to see their floor in the coming years. How many years in are we and there is not one difference maker on the defense, not a one. Quote
Old Coot Posted 56 minutes ago Posted 56 minutes ago Bills have had 8 turnovers in the last 3 games. Conclusion: fire the coaches; it mut be their fault somehow. Quote
