I think it is the other way round. If they keep asking McDermott to coach a Beane built roster it won't get any better. But they are tied as far as I am concerned. One goes both go.

That’s what I’m saying, if they allow beane to rebuild the team and allow McD to remain the HC, nothing will change. It will be the same broken team and same broken philosophy

beane, the OC, and DC need to go. we need wrs that aren't slow statues. we need lbs that are bigger than 220lbs. pegula needs a GM who will light a fire under some asses. open completion at every position except Josh and cookie.

I don’t even know where to go honestly.

We just handed out 4 bad to meh, at best, extensions.

We have a good bit of dead cap.

Have to make decisions on McGovern and Edwards.   Desperately need a true WR1.   If they let those two walk, they need to draft IOL early/mid-rounds and hope SVPG, Anderson and Grable are ready to compete for the spots at a high level.

Defense is a friggin warzone.  Needs everywhere.  Safety opposite Bishop, NCB, probably 2 LB’s, Defense will get back Hoecht, Oliver, Jackson and Carter.  Probably need a run stuffing DT to round out the room, which they don’t believe in.. and a legit pass rusher off the edge which is next to impossible to get with our cap situation and draft position.

I forgot to add

another part of my rebuild is to extend some of our homegrown players

id start by extending Keon Coleman for 4 years, 80 million

probably Dawson and taron johnson I’d also give extensive to as well

I have an idea to rebuild

In free agency, start by overpaying for someone’s gadget wr and pay like a number 2

Then the draft is simple

round one

Overdraft a middling prospect for need. I’d start with an undersized, injury prone linebacker in round one

Round two. You can never have too many lineman. So I’d draft a 3 tech d lineman who will get placed on ir week 3

round 3: you realized that the 3 tech d lineman will get injured week 3. So you draft another 3 tech that is a hard working, undersized guy. He will tear his acl in training camp

round 4: now we are getting serious. We need to double down. So the choice is between another undersized, injury prone linebacker

vs an undersized 3 tech. I think you choose the undersized linebacker

round 5: it’s time to trade down for pics. I’d take 2 injury prone cornerbacks that will likely end up on ir around week 6

round 6: time for a 7th o lineman

he will show progress. Then he will retire after week 8 due to multiple injuries

round 7: time for a wide receiver. My goodness, he looks great in camp! He will solve all our wr issues

now he will get placed on practice squad. And you guessed it. He will get called up week 9 and get placed on ir week 11

thats my plan

This is my fear and I think is basically 100% correct.  It could be some dark times.

key word is “arrogance”

Is Beane drafting the players he wants or is he drafting the players McDermott wants? To me, I feel like we are definitely drafting the players McDermott wants. I still say fire them all and start over. But I have a sneaking suspicion McDermott is the man responsible for all of this because he's also the first to scapegoat whoever he can.

They’re trying to rebuild it on the fly right now to be honest. That’s why they have had so many draft picks the last two years. Unfortunately he didn’t hit on enough 2024 picks it appears.

I want 2 LBs or 1 LB and a Nickel in this years draft. The LB has to be 230 plus who can run and the Nickel has to be 205 and can run.

I think they realize after 8 years their small slower players aren’t working. Problem is it’s too late in Allen’s career to just now realize that should have happened years ago

Samuel and Milano will be cut. Knox will be asked to take big pay cut or will also be let go. That's just the beginning,  Beane has a LOT of work ahead  of him and better be bold. His neck is definitely on the line now

You realize that we're the only AFC division winner from last season that's in the playoffs as of today, right?  But teams like KC and Baltimore have multiple year MVP winner QBs and team we just defeated has the best defense in the league and 3-0 with their backup QB. Yeah our coaching/GM staff sucks.

I agree with speed. They lack it almost everywhere. Don't have a speed edge rusher. Don't have a fast receiver. They finally have some at corner with Max but he is still a bit up and down at the moment. They used to have speed at the second level that was the trade off for lacking size - if you threw short of the sticks to the flats Milano and Taron chased you down and tackled you. But the injuries have taken their toll on both.

But fundamentally, even more than speed.... they just don't have enough talent.

We have a drought era team that lacks talent everywhere but manages to scratch and claw their way to double digit wins because of the generational QB.

Looking at the terrible contracts Beane has handed out and all of the draft pick whiffs, it's no surprise why we are in this situation.

Look at all the cap money we're going to have tied up paying guys to not be on the team. The ones who do manage to stay on the team aren't difference makers that help us win games either.

Extending Coleman?? He'll be lucky to last his rookie contract at this point, and even then, I doubt they'd resign him. I can't see him turning things around that equals production equal to his draft spot. Josh apparently has trust issues with him, not to mention immature behavior. If you're gonna do a rebuild, WR1 is the first place to start, and Coleman doesn't fit

All cards on the table IMO. It’s sad because I feel like our roster could be kept to this without any second guessing on my part.

defensive keepers = walker, Hairston , Bishop

offensive keepers = Josh, cook, Torrence

They don't need a full rebuild. It's not impossible to find good receivers in the draft. Or non injury prone defenders. A new HC/GM combo may breathe new life into the organization.

Not happening anyway with Allen at QB and the new stadium opening.

Josh Allen masks 90% of this team's problems.

And it still is likely that Allen will get the Bills into the playoffs as a wildcard this season.  And given how well Allen plays in the post season they might even get a first round win. And that will ensure Bean & McD stay and might even encourage the Bills to double down on their current roster building strategy.

And I get why Pegula, at the moment the new multi billion dollar stadium is about to open, would play it safe here and not rock the boat.  So yea 2 more years are wasted with Allen's clock ticking.
