That team under Kosar went though almost as much heartbreak as the 90s Bills did! Then they had their team stolen from them and had to watch them win titles!

Good for Bernie.  Solid NFL QB for his time.  QB in probably the best college game I ever watched in real time (Flutie Hail Mary game)

I was at that game.

Good luck to you, Bernie.

And even better luck to your surgeon.

The original cardiac kids led by Bernie Kosar were a fun bunch to watch.

I threw in the Highland games for many years with his former center Mike Baab.

That was led by Brian Sipe not Bernie Kosar. Anyway, best wishes to Bernie on a full recovery.

He is  both elated and very calm. I had my kidney transplant in February 2024. They called me at noon on Valentines Day.  I was elated that I only had to wait 2 ½ weeks for a match! And then  a calmness came over me. My sister drove me to ECMC and she was so hyped up that she almost went through a red light.  I told her "relax, I'm the one getting the transplant"😃. Just before I had to strip down for the operation, I said to her "Say hello to my little friend" when I come out.

He was awesome, sadly an elbow injury in the opening game of 1988 messed his game up a bit. I considered him one of the best deep-ball throwers ever. Smart as hell.

If the Browns had a pass rush back then, they would have won at least one SB. Two of the greatest lockdown CBs on one team ever, Hanford Dixon & Frank Minnifield.

Not to be a tool here, it was actually Brian Sipe who led the Cardiac Kids, he was clutch too.

Before Howard Cosell got fired for his Alvin Garrett comment he insulted every mechanic in the country on MNF. There was a sign in the stands that read "SIPE IS A MECHANIC". Cosell started talking about how he disagreed with the sign because Sipe intelligent and quick minded. Gifford commented that mechanics were also intelligent. Cosell responded "Not necessarily."
