Keon stats for Tampa

it's repulsive because what else follows:

 

Samuel: 12 snaps, 2 targets, 1 catch, 27 yards*

Moore: 6 snaps, 1 target, 1 catch, 8 yards

Shavers: 4 snaps, 2 targets, 1 catch, 19 yards

 

12 snaps: 4 passing plays, 8 runs

"Unfortunately, the two uncatchable passes that I charted in this game were both on deep balls to Coleman on reps that Coleman actually had separation. On the first instance, Coleman had his man stacked vertically with inside leverage, but Allen threw the ball out of bounds to Coleman’s outside shoulder. The other was severely underthrown, and the defensive back swatted it away while Coleman had to turn around for it despite having vertical leverage."

 

This was in line with what we saw live. But then again, Keon is the whipping boy of TBD, so carry on with making him seem ridiculously useless, instead of what he is, a struggling and so far under-performing young player that gets utilized oddly.

Shhhhhhh we have to go from the narrative that Keon is slow and can't separate because there's no way our GOAT QB can have an off day. We need a scape goat and the majority have chosen to make Keon just that.

I think both things are true. 

 

Allen shares some of the blame. But whatever the reason, we know it's not working. 

 

I want palmer and Gabe starting at outside wr for a few weeks. 

 

If there's big improvement then it is what it is.

 

I honestly think Keon needs to reset regardless. 

 

There's also probably some nuance of the wr position that is above my head that keon is not picking up on.

 

In the Steve Smith video for example when Keon Coleman was lining up he was not even looking at the defender whether he was far off or up close or his body language at all so when he caught the ball he was almost anticipating like he was going to get hit right away when nobody was there... those are the intricacies of the position at wide receiver that I think a lot of us are not noticing that Keon is failing in....

 

This is also something that falls on McDermott as a head coach though

Are people being sarcastic, of have people seen enough of Keon over the last year and a half to know not to expect too much from him? No matter how weak people think the Bucs are outside, they are All Pros compared to what Miami trotted out last week. And even then, and then force feeding him opportunities....he was still largely unimpressive. 

 

It hardly knee jerk to think he won't produce Sunday. It's actually the safe bet.

Frankly, if Gabe is ready, I hope he is inactive. Just for the fact that he has displayed immaturity,  selfishness, and loafing. That ALONE should put him on the bench.
