Nihilarian Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Buffalo had ten receivers on the field Sunday against the KC Chiefs, and all ten were involved in the pass game. Dalton Kincaid#86, 6 receptions for 101 yards, 6 targets, 1 TD Khalil Shakir#10, 7 receptions for 43 yards, 8 targets Dawson Knox#88, 1 reception for 30 yards, 1 target Elijah Moore#18, 1 reception for 28 yards, 1 target Jackson Hawes#85, 1 reception for 18 yards, 2 targets Keon Coleman#0, 2 receptions for 17 yards, 2 targets Ty Johnson#26, 2 receptions for 12 yards, 2 targets James Cook III#4, 1 reception for 11 yards, 1 target Tyrell Shavers#14, 1 reception for 7 yards, 1 target Curtis Samuel#1, 1 reception for 6 yards, 1 target 23 receptions for 273 yards, 25 targets Rushing, James Cook, 27 carries for 114 yards. a 4.2 YPC AVG Josh Allen, 6 carries for 19 yards, 2 TDs Ty Johnson, 2 carries for 8 yards. Clearly, Kincade was the #1 receiver this day. On another note, Cole Bishop is a steely-eyed beast man! 7 tackles, 4 solo, 1 TFL, 4 PD 2 Quote

SageAgainstTheMachine Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago A lot of guys made one big play yesterday while Kincaid and Shakir carried the water. I laud their contributions. It's all well and good, except that we're still missing the equivalent of that Josh to Diggs connection on "gotta have it" 3rd and 4th downs. Any argument that we're somehow better off without an elite WR is just coping with the fact that we don't have one. That's my issue with the everybody eats phrase...it's a matter of circumstance, not intention. 1 1 6 2 Quote

That's my issue with the everybody eats phrase...it's a matter of circumstance, not intention. While I get the idea of having that #1 WR...I'm also looking at the Steelers, who are paying big bucks to DK Metcalf and traded from Seattle for a 2nd round pick, a 6th round pick. If you noticed, so many Bills fans were upset that Buffalo didn't obtain him. Sadly, there were reasons as to why Seattle wanted to part with him, as the first was his contract demands, offering a profile of a low-end WR1 with potential for more, though his overall production has been underwhelming recently due to fewer targets offsetting increased touchdown efficiency. He is a risky pick because his target share is low. This past week against the Colts, he was 6th in receiving with 2 receptions, 6 yards, and 4 targets. Which is pretty sad for a supposed #1 WR. Are the Steelers using him as a decoy? Against Green Bay the week previous, he was the #2 WR with 5 receptions for 55 yards, 7 targets, 1 TD. It looks like Buffalo is utilizing Dalton Kincade as their #1 receiver, much like the Packers were using Tucker Kraft were using him as their #1 receiver. So, it begs the question, with such limited cap space, do the Bills really need to trade for that #1 like a Chris Olave? 2 Quote
Big Turk Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I think Palmer coming back will help as will "Grape" Davis once he is ready to go. Brady at least giving Allen some easy answers tho with some things and it's hard to complain when Allen is completing 88.5% of his passes for 273 yards, but there were still times in key situations where Allen couldn't find people and that's what I am afraid of in the playoffs again, especially if we have to play the Chiefs. 1 Quote
Gregg Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago The best part about yesterday's game is Allen finally looked like MVP Allen again. When 17 plays like that the Bills will be a tough out for anybody. Cook has to be in the conversation for best RB in the NFL. Without him who knows where the Bills would be. 2 Quote
The Cincinnati Kid Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Pretty sure the Number 1 Receiver is Kincaid. In a “gotta have it” moment, he will be the guy. And before you say it: Winslow Sr. Newsome Coates Sharpe Gonzalez Gates Clark Gronk Graham Ertz Olsen Kelce So, yes, the TE can be the team’s top target. Dude doesn’t have to play WR to be a Number 1. I’d argue that people who cannot believe don’t really understand how offensives work. 1 5 1 Quote

Are you under the impression that the Colts Steelers game was some kind of shootout? Josh was basically perfect last night, and yet, when we get stuffed or a penalty on first down and get into 2nd and 10 or 3rd and long, our offense is basically dead in the water. And that comes from not having a threat on the boundary. 5 Quote

Defenses get to narrow the field, as well as crowd the line. When things are going well its fine. If were going to win 3-4 playoff games against playoff defenses. We can not afford to roll out these current guys. When things are rolling like yesterday its great, but you can not let a playoff defense take away 50% of the playing surface. Crowd the line... double Kincaid... commit most resources between hashes, and we become pedestrian quickly. Even if the Olave , Shaheed, Addisons of the world aren't available, we need to bring in a guy thats competent on the outside. Quote

Cook getting banged up, not even knocked out, could sink this team. We g2 find a way to get Davis going, as Ty Johnson is mostly a pass catcher. If we believe that's impossible, im looking for a competent RB at deadline. Were a run first team, with one RB. We're in deep s***, if Cook gets banged up, let alone misses a game. Id prefer we get Davis touches. Can't just be garbage time when everyone knows its a run. He needs real reps and ill die on this hill. Quote

TY hasn’t been great, but Davis looks so different from last year..doesn’t hit the hole right, seems slow in processing where to go and doesn’t have the punch he had last year. Personally, I’d bring Gore up for a game and see what he can do right now. Davis just doesn’t seem to have it this year. Love that they spread the ball around yesterday, makes it less urgent to need a “number 1” maybe. Hopefully our offense is finding a groove and can take some pressure off the defense. Quote
CincyBillsFan Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago And hitting 10 different receivers with a pass is pretty rare. The return of Palmer will also open up things downfield. 1 Quote

Agreed, our outside WRs are just not making an impact right now. Shavers is a good story, but just doesn't offer the offense much. We need Palmer and Davis healthy. Quote

Not playing has that effect on a running back though. Davis has 65 offensive snaps through 8 games for about 8 snaps per game. 18 of his 22 carries came in blowouts, and he has 11 4th quarter garbage time carries (i assume garbage time when Dawkins and McGovern come out).
