Poyer enables Bishop to play lose and it shows.  Bishop has been playing very well the last few games.  If Hancock can elevate his play the Bills are set at safety for years.

Agree. But the Chiefs were one of the hottest teams in the NFL.  Beating them by a TD was an accomplishment.

he matured into a crucial role pretty quickly IMO he did have a learning curve .  dude now has real confidence and it showed today

 

we  all knew he had  game after he made that one handed INT earlier this year. that play was a thing of beauty

 

foretold of the future in a way.

What a difference McDermott has made. Bishop has looked like the athletic safety prospect we thought we landed.

That is what stuck out to me as well. PBUs have been a problem for us all year. It was nice to see a Bills player repeatedly knocking the ball away.

 

Always hard to tell on broadcast footage but I thought Bishop was playing a good amount of man in this game and that seems to fit his skill set better. No thinking, just use his natural athleticism to plaster and make a play at the catch point.

Last year, the Chiefs were sooooo lucky to remain undefeated for so long. This year, they are one of the best ever 5-4 team  They might even miss the playoffs! And yeah, I'd love that ha ha. Both teams looked Superbowl caliber today.

I think it's been critical in Bishop's development.  You could see him coming on last week and I think Poyer helping set the defense and in-game decisions have buoyed Bishop's confidence.   Kudos to McDermott for making it happen.  It settled the entire secondary.  Now utilize Poyer to get Hancock up to speed and hopefully we can roll into the playoffs with Bishop/Hancock.

I don’t think the offense was perfect and Palmer despite being a good not great player was a big loss imo

 

i wouldn’t put it on Josh but that bullet to a wide open hawes that went incomplete definitely hurt just as one example.  Missed the recognition on a few blitzes also not sure if that was a qb or oline thing

New England and Detroit last year, the Jets this season… I read the same thing this was it. His coming out parties. Then to fall flat. That certainly would equate to being here before on this board. That doesn’t mean I doubt the kid just that I’ll hold reservations and hope. 
 

There’s only 4 guys I’ve ever bagged on in 38 years of watching this team; Mr Playbook, McCargo, Maybin and Hamlin. Cole Bishop isn’t one of them for context.

? Chiefs were 5-3 coming into the game.  Are you thinking because they beat up on the Lions, Commanders and Raiders?

The Lions seem just OK this year and the Commanders and Raiders are bad.  Last night's game with the Seahawks and Commanders was boring.

Our D did manage to make Mahomes look pretty bad though.

One of the big selling points for Bishop out of Utah was that he was incredibly smart and had great instincts. Having Poyer next to him instead of Rapp is going to be huge for his learning.
