11/2/25 GAMEDAY Bills vs Chiefs 4:30pm Post Game Thread

The chiefs needed like 4-5 super man plays from Mahomes just to stay in this game.  I don’t think the Bills got more than the flip pass out of Allen. He stayed within the play script this entire game.

 

That is incredible game planning and execution against a team with a better roster

Broncos x2

Chargers rematch

Colts

Texans

 

I see a lot of chances for these guys to beat up on each other

The attempt there was a game winner if it connects. Not his fault his kicker doesn't connect.

 

So I guess the alternative would have been to throw the ball and if incomplete, allow the Chiefs more time at the end of the game. Wonder what would have happened if Mahomes had that extra 35-40 seconds on that last drive?

 

Don’t know that we could have managed this game any better than we did. I maybe quibble with things like running on thag first half 4th and 2? But asking Allen to rip a first down isn’t exactly a low value proposition either

I get no one is going to feel bad for the 6-2 Bills with the MVP at QB and maybe the best RB in the NFL...

But good grief losing Oliver and Hoecht for what looks like the season for both by week 9 is just brutal luck...

And we need to beat the teams we're supposed to beat. We can't afford to lose games like we did with Atlanta.

I think mahomes deserves some credit tbh I understand the defense taking sh*t for giving up big plays to this guy but he’s one of the best to ever do it. 
 

bills got after them with Trey smith playing even. 
 

people always talk about the playoff defense and I get it but the afc playoffs is three opponents with hall of fame talent level qbs leading stacked offenses lol it’s an absolute meat grinder.  We definitely have to be better on defense but these guys are gonna get their yards/points even in a great defensive game

Most encouraging offensive play of the game was the pass to Knox in the first half, followed by the pass to Cook in the second half.  Need more imagination on offense.

 

McDermott put on yet another master class in timeout strategy 😋

His timeouts weren’t mistakes.  In fact the one he called when they were at the goal line and prevented a TD was huge.  And going for the FG was smart because it ran the clock down and it wins the game.  Even missing it meant he puts a defense out there that held Mahomes to less than 50% on the day to keep him from going 60 yards in 20 seconds.  Which they did.

 

What the hell is wrong with me?  I guess celebrating a win over a major competitor in our conference.  Silly me.

Nice game and extreme encouraging progress from Bishop and Hairston, but I still think that we need to add a couple of pieces before the deadline. Especially with the Hoecht Injury.  Other than that Patriots win, this was a good overall day for playoff positioning.

It also helps we three the kitchen sink at him. Generally speaking Reid didn’t know what was coming at him. There times when the bills rushed just 2 and the chiefs were set up to protect.  The one time reid got him was on the 4th and 17 when he guessed we’d drop 8-9, and then targeted Bosa with a fake screen blocking. Just an all around insane play that was, and it still came down to I think Bernard brain farting

Thank G-d they won because that 4th and 17 implosion could have cost them the game and would have gone down in Mahomes lore over the Bills.

 

Otherwise a solid win.  Still our secondary needs serious work as do our wide outs.

It seems like we'll get Oliver back for the playoffs.

 

It's tough - but every team loses one if not more key players by the end of the season.  At least most of our injured guys will be back this year.  I hate losing Hoecht, but he's really the 1st loss for the rest of the season.
