This game could go either way, but the Bills have to bring their A game on offense and defense.

With a better roster the Chiefs can probably get a win without a stellar effort on both sides of the ball.  A little Mahomes magic and some help from the zebras could be the difference.

For the Bills, they may need a couple of takeaways to flip the script.

Will the James Cook show continue or did they blow their wad with the performance against Carolina?

We shall see.

I think this contest could be an accurate gauge of what to expect the rest of the way.

I thought the Chiefs looked like hot garbage most of the Washington game.   The Skins handed them a victory by not capitalizing on anything and making dumb mistakes.    Mahomes throwing motion looks all weird to me also this year.

Virtually zero expectations.

We are wasting the best years of Allen's career. The ascending Reid / Mahomes led Cheafs are hardly a good match up for a team with a lame duck passing offense and injuries to 3 starting DT's in defense. Spagnolo sure as hell won't let Cook run amuck like Carolina did.

I will be shocked if we pull off the epic upset.

If Kansas City doesn't come in with a plan and commitment to stopping Cook I'll be shocked. At this point who would be afraid of our passing game???

The bills haven’t looked good all year.  The chiefs are ascending.  This could get real ugly, but….. any given Sunday

They looked good against the Jets and Panthers. They also have 5 wins in 7 games. I think this game will be close like most of the games between these teams. Something like 31-28 or 27-24 type of game. Who wins is anybody's guess. I will say Bills as they are a tough out in OP.

Shell of Allen??

Thats pretty harsh.  Some of you on here talk about Josh like he is Nate Peterman 2.0.  He hasn’t been great. But he certainly hasn’t sucked.  If anything blame Brady for his conservative game plans and unwillingness to send guys deep.  And Beane for putting together a joke of a receiving group that has very limited ability.

But this team will be ready come Sunday.  These are grown men who are a proud bunch.  I think we see a revved up group on both sides of the ball.  And have a solid chance to win.

Well, a shell of arguably the best player in NFL history can still be a lot better than Nathan Peterman, or even most other quarterbacks in the league. But you're right, it was too harsh, reflecting my anxiety. I get it that he's playing with a set of receivers who are just a cut above practice-squad quality, and I also get it that this mediocrity downfield might have gotten into his head, thrown off his rhythm, etc., even if he's given (and gives himself) oceans of time to make the throws. But even so, I'm increasingly concerned that he might be broken, at least in the short term, maybe the lingering effects of a concussion, a mid-career slump, or whatever. The contrast between the announcers mechanically intoning that he's the "best player the league" and his play on the field is jarring. I keep waiting for him to snap back into the jaw-dropping Superman we know so well. Maybe he'll do it against the Chiefs, but if he struggled against the Panthers, Saints, Pats, and Dolphins, is he really going to suddenly come alive against a Spagnuolo defense, working with the same set of mediocre receivers?

As others have said, my heart is hopeful but my brain is not. My intuition, lying somewhere in between, tells me that to save this season, Dr. Beane needs to inject some adrenaline, fast.

50/50 game. Who wants it more that day is my vibe. No excuses.  Coaching needs to bring their very best. I feel a little better knowing McD will call defensive plays. Mafia will no doubt provide juice.

Go Bills!

Epic upset. What lol? Buffalo has issues. But I don't think beating KC at home would even qualify as an upset. This is a 50/50 game.

I think the one seed is important because the Bills get a bye for the first time under McDermott. If someone were to upset a superior team in the postseason, the Bills could potentially get an easier playoff opponent at home. And the Bills have won two postseason games under McDermott a few times. But it's always been WC and second round. Doing so this time=a SB trip.

Yep.

I wouldn't be stunned if the Bills get amped up and play the best game of the season and win.

We'll go all out and win. Spags will hold back. We'll be on a path to home field advantage.

Who knows how it'll go in the rematch in January

how much can he “hold back” at this point? These teams have seen each other so much and it’s not like their entire personnel is different from the past couple of years. If you mean the Chiefs want to run more base with less blitzes and aren’t as concerned about confusing the oline or Josh, ok. How does that serve them? The Bills played them last year in the AFC championship game. Pretty sure they didn’t hold back then.
I could really care less about this game. Part of me wants the Bills as a wildcard team, maybe a chip on their shoulder would serve them well. Problem is that the Bills are always a favorite or maybe a 1-2 point dog like last years AFCCG.

I am assuming we’ll be a wild card team so I don’t see this as a have to win game.  But I do think we’ll win.  I think the Dcreally showed more this past week.  Granted it was Dalton but the line got consistent pressure and helped the back end play better.  Having Hairston and Hancock available to me improves things as well.

On offense our O line decided to get nasty again and allowed Cook to run wild.  I expect to see a lot of that again Sunday.  And I also expect Josh to be Josh again, more decisive with reads and I see him running the ball more.  By using the dominant run game we keep the ball out of Mahomes’ hands.

The vibe is much better after dismantling Carolina with our run game. If we can have a balanced attack and keep Mahomes from running wild, I think Josh will find a way at home with the 12th man. I like our additions with Hoecht and Okunjobi with a revitalized Rousseau and AJE. The LBs Thompson and Williams looked better than Bernard and Milano( who never plays). Throw in Hancock and a more active Taron Johnson and the secondary looks equipped to deal with the Chiefs receivers. I think the game comes down to TOs and Josh having his best games since the Baltimore miracle.

The game is IN Buffalo, which is a huge factor, and the Bills are somewhat healthy. The Bills' run game and defense showed up big time last game, so there is that. This is a four o'clock game, which sort of favors KC.

Alas, unlike previous matchups during the regular season, the Chiefs were not in power mode, and currently they have three losses on the season now so they realize that not only is losing home field advantage a possibility, it's also a possibility they lose the division, so they will be extra motivated to win this game. They still have yet to play Denver twice, and that team is their next opponent.

That might be a big reason as to why they might lose this game, as they just might be looking forward to playing the 6-2 division leader, Denver, next week.

Buffalo needs Lady Luck on their side with some turnovers and that defense to get to Mahomes like the Eagles did in the last SB. Pressure, pressure, pressure, sack.

Then Josh Allen needs to find his game, should the Chiefs play like Atlanta did with stopping the run and blitzing a lot. A loss here won't be earth-shattering, but all the McD haters will jump on that bandwagon again after the game.

I hope Buffalo wins by three points :D

I'm feeling pretty down on the Bills at the moment. I don't like our O and Mahomes will find a way to slice up the D with short little zone hits and dump offs.  I think it will look a bit like the Falcons game.

The Bills win.

Historical precedence "the Bills have won after a win which followed a bye week preceded by back-to-back losses"

Am I doing the NFL records routine right?

i think the game will be won or lost on how Josh deciphers Spags’ blitzes.

Go fast the entire game.  No motion, on the ball, snap it with 20 seconds to go.  Either it works or fails spectacularly - no in between.

Broncos on historic start: Defense has NFL-best 36 sacks, offense allowed NFL-best 8 sacks. The Broncos are the first team in NFL history with at least 35 sacks on defense and 10 or fewer sacks allowed on offense in the first eight games of a season. They are currently the AFC West division leaders at 6-2.

KC could be looking past Buffalo!
