He was on a 17 game pace of 980 yards last year. 940 yards this year. Had over 700 yards and 5 TDs his sophomore season. All of this with really bad QBs.

 

He's had one major injury that I'm aware of.

 

Comparing him to Deonte Harty or Goodwin is pretty stupid IMO

he's at 499 yards. He could hit 1K, but he's never done that before. He's also never played a full season before and he's 27 years old. Dude is fragile.

Yep. Right now he's a good #2.  Pair him with a healthy Palmer, Shakir, Kincaid, Knox and Cook and we have a little somethin somethin.

Meyers has played Slot 50% of his career

He's never healthy, and when he is, he puts up WR 4 numbers.He's a Harty, Goodwin, Mckenzie level player. If you want that, we already have Samuel & Moore. He isn't meaningfully better than those guys, he's just used more effectively.

I think the real problem you have with him is that he doesn't play defence.

The reason not to do it is it makes it more costly to get out of Taron's contract before it expires. So when teams do these restructures it's for a specific reason that they need the cap space for.

 

This particular restructure doesn't really add on too much penalty, which is why I am saying it was a no brainer either way. I am familiar with how the restructures "kick the can down the road"

No. I have a problem with him being an oft-injured player who is praised for his potential more than his actual accomplishments.

I'd have no problem with him as a #4 type player.

He has some health concerns (as do all of the guys we are discussing). The reality is, he instantly is the best WR with the possible exception of Shakir. Is he Justin Jefferso? No. Is he Keon Coleman? Also no.
