Happy All Hallows Eve! 🎃 👻

Ok, we’ve wept, grumbled and yelled enough. The frightful 2 terrible performances and a Bye week to stew on them are behind us. We now find ourselves looking up at NE* in the Division while stumbling hard in other rankings the League uses to tell the current story. Inept play on Offense & Defense and a week off from competing finds us relegated to also-rans and out of the spotlight. But this changes this afternoon with yet another inter-Conference road game in North Carolina vs the Panthers. It’s an opportunity to show we’re still alive and need to be feared as a perennial Playoff Power.  Other big changes include roster additions and probable position options. Ogunjobi & Hoeght -our 2 biggest FA signings are finally eligible to play and are expected to add significant upgrades to the DL. Not a minute too soon as we’re currently ranked DEAD LAST vs the run and the Panthers are ranked 3rd in rushing! The pairings of Oliver & Hoeght along with Ungujobi is now a formidable DT room. D. Jones is in the proverbial week to week.. 1st round pick Max Hairston is back practicing and looks pretty well healed from his preseason knee injury. How quickly he gets comfortable will determine when he gets playing time with the 1’s. Milano is still not practicing and I fear it’s time to write his career epitaph. Poyer has ascended to starter and this will continue. For all his disappearing skills, he’s still better than Rapp (now on Ir) & Bishop. The BIG news is Maxwell Hairston has been activated. We might as well start him! Better pass rush, better run Defense and a DB with world class speed? Whats not to love? Our OL should be rested and hopefully refocused. 30 penalties in 3 weeks, missed blocks, sacks and turnovers have derailed us the previous 2 games. They ARE better than this and we need to see a return to what they’re capable of! Utilizing Cook more in the 4th quarter and in pass routes hasn’t been used when it absolutely should be. He’s a game-breaker, but not if he’s on the sideline.. Kincaid should be back, which is welcome news! His absence was startling! Some guy named Milano may play as well.. As for QB1, when Gramma calls, GITERDONE!

Our opponent today, the Carolina Panthers, are another team trying to escape from the perennial outhouse. They’re 4-3 now and have won their last 3, so they’re no pushover. It’s a relatively nearby away game and many Buffalo transplants have relocated to the area. Plus, the Mafia has been known to take over their stadium in the past. Expect nothing else today. Their QB Bryce Young, who’s been the catalyst of their resurgence, suffered the dreaded high ankle sprain last week and expected to be sidelined. This brings in a ‘Buffalo hero’ Andy Dalton to try to keep their winning streak alive. Biggest key to this game is the Panther run game. It’s VERY good as is their OL! In contrast, our run Defense is threatening to set League records for futility averaging nearly SIX YARDS PER CARRY! So, Somethings gotta change here for the Bills to get off the shnide! 🤦‍♂️Panthers are overall a middling team with key stats showing they’re around 22nd overall ranking. Oddly enough today’s game is their final AFCE game and have beaten all our Division to date. What that means is no one knows how good they really are in their Division nor Conference as slapping our hapless Division around isn’t really much of a measuring stick..

So snap up your chinstraps, take a strong sniff of smelling salts and let’s get after it today! Given our recent level of play, we need to raise the bar NOW!

We GOT THIS!

GO BILLS!

I have a gut feeling that we will lose to Chiefs next week and then finally beat them in the playoffs.

But to make this 4D chess master plan work, we really need to win tonight.

If you’re Brady do u stick with the low event short game but just do it BETTER?  Or do you pivot away from that … because it’s too easy to defend??

Our receivers -minus Kincaid- are too easy to defend.

HAPPY GAMEDAY TBD! It's been a long three weeks, but I feel our luck is about to change. How can it not be, with our old friend Andy Dalton making an appearance (I didn't even know he was still in the league)? And the cavalry reinforcements have been brought in on defense—we won't even recognize this side of the field. Yep, " I got a feelin', That tonight's gonna be a good, good night."

LET'S GO BUFFALO!

RANDOM THOUGHTS BEFORE GAME

Bills win this one comfortably. The attention on them has been largely negative for the past 2 weeks. Despite what the players/coaches say, they do listen to what’s being said.

It is so important for the Buffalo Bills to establish an early lead. This is the key to their success for the entire season. If your defense can’t stop their RBs then let your offense stop them.

I think (hope) Brady opens things up a bit more. We’ll see an offense w/ more James Cook in the pass game and heavily featuring Tight Ends.

Keon Coleman needs to be phased out of the offense. More throws down the middle of the field. We need Josh to consistently extend plays and give receivers more time to get open. Also big scrambles up the middle. Vintage Josh

Sprinkle some James Cook runs in there, but don’t fight fire with fire. The Panthers will be trying to keep Allen OFF of the field. Brady needs to MAXIMIZE drives. This is what you do against Mahomes, not Carolina.

final prediction: 34-17 BILLS

The keys to winning today ...

1. Hold the Panthers to less than 200 yds rushing.

2. FREE JOSH ALLEN AND HIS OFFENSE ... You have a Unicorn for a QB, don't use him like he's Tony the Pony. And I feel I'm stating the obvious here but, have Cook on the field on 3rd down.

While Ogunjobi, Hoeght, Walker & Max definitely raise the floor for us on Defense, our Safety’s and WRs are where every opponent will challenge us. If the OL raises their game and Brady uses the run more -AND in the 4th quarter, we should get where we need to be.

***** Brady uses Josh like a Yugo.  It’s like Brady has a Ferrari and never goes above 3500 RPM
