Two or three,  barring injury,  but I don't expect a dramatic decline or anything.  He will probably still be a Pro Bowl level player into his late 30s if he keeps playing.

I'm not tossing the season aside I'm shifting the conversation to what this really needs to be about. If you think landing a 30th-40th ranked WR and a 10th ranked TE in the future is the answer, I imagine you and Beane would get along well.

Then whys it work in KC?

And all of that has gotten us to be the 2nd best record in the NFL for how many seasons? Some fans are acting like this franchise has been the Jets the last few seasons. Truth be told were not horrible. Also I'm tired of it's "only cuz of Josh". He has been excellent no doubt but no man is an Island in the NFL.

The Bills roster is objectively worse than it's been at any time in the last 6 years.  Beane's penchant of drafting undersized injury prone players, and avoiding getting weapons for Allen is yielding the inevitable fruit.

With sports science, including recovery, nutrition, and rehab science, at their peak, I think we can count on having this Josh until his mid-30s.

If he played a completely different way, then he could've been great longer like Tom Brady.  But I don't think you can force those things.

Let Josh be Josh, and have the urgency of knowing that we have about 5-6 years left. Basically the length of one regime.  Fire McBeane after this season, put a search committee together, and take your shot at finding a Super Bowl winning HC / GM combo.

I'm going to get crushed for the following comments, and it's because I feel bad for Allen getting stuck in a going-nowhere franchise, but here it is....

I honestly hope he goes to a franchise that has the capability to win a Super Bowl. He's given this team a ton and I don't want to see him end his career without winning one. I would hate for him to have a Marino career, or worse, having never been to a championship game. It just doesn't look like it'll ever happen for Buffalo.

This franchise is stuck in neutral. Or more appropriately, the transmission is shot. I don't know what can possibly change, but the coaching staff is mostly inept from top to bottom.

I would start with HC

Okay so show me an Andy Reid type we can replace McDermott with that is available. Not hypothetical trade for McVey or Shanny as pretty sure that not plausible.

Because they have an offensive genius at HC, an elite DC, QB, and are experienced at SB wins.

Not to mention, a hall of fame TE, even if eroding in skill, is consistently open. They bring a lot of speed and scheme players open. You can watch 1 quarter of Chiefs football and see more open WR's than we will have an entire game. The comparison is laughable.

Yesterday felt like the first game in a long time where Superman seemed a little more human. I don't blame him for that, when you're asked to literally do everything, that is a situation that can only be sustainable for so long.

The main theory around here is we have 5/6/7/8 more years with Josh. While Josh could "reinvent" himself into more of a traditional pocket QB, that just isn't the player he has ever been for this team. So it's hard to just assume Allen will successfully transition into that player. Allen is probably more dependent on his physical skills than any QB in the NFL. You know Josh is going to put in the work to be the best version of himself. But one thing is for sure, he absolutely can't become a more age neutral QB if he's being asked to be the entire offense.

Now is not the time to leverage the last couple years of peak physical skills Allen has. The front office has to position him to be more of a traditional QB. This goes beyond the standard pleas to add offensive talent we have had for a few years now. It's more about building a roster and system Allen can age in gracefully and elongate his career with where he isn't being asked to create 40% of the offense with his physical abilities. What we are asking him to do right and what we have asked him to do for years is going to shorten his career. This crap needs to come to an end. Get the man some tools to be successful for gods sake. This feels like drought era QB malpractice right now.

I would say about 8. This is the time to cut ties with our losses and get in a qualified coach/GM asap. Ask yourself this. If we switched Head Coaches tomorrow, could the production really be any worse for the remaining season ? This defense is performing at historically crappy levels. At least we know a fresh coach may be able to scheme something up at least for both the O and D. Sadly, it’s not going to happen

I'm just throwing this out there, but what if Allen has already peaked?!?.........what if, what we are seeing is the best he could have given us and maybe the ambition and motivation is just not there under this coaching staff anymore?

I don't know and neither do you

Oh yes, the standard rebuttal of the McD fan club. Wait each year for every promising candidate to be poached, then mid season say, see! Nobody is available. Works every time.

The only person who can change it is Terry. If this season ends up a disappointing one, then I would at least hope Beane and McDermott are on the hot seat. Terry will be asking Bills fans to pay a lot for tickets with PSL's at the new stadium. He can at least try to put the best product on the field for Bills fans to watch. After 9 years of same old same old with McBean that probably means a different GM/HC to come here and run the show.

MVP level? How he plays, I'd say 3-4 MAX barring a major injury.  So far this year he already appears to have a lost a step, but that could be temporary.
