The answer to that is quick slants, RB screens and running it inside. We do slow developing routes down the field. Cook is actually doing really well up the middle and they totally go away from it in the 4th. Just not a tactically smart OC.

There is no such thing as a quick slant with Keon Coleman and crew, that play is eliminated.  Every one of our passing routes is a slow developing play, even the quick slant

This game was a total and complete coaching failure for 3 out of 4 quarters. What else is there to say? 

 

For an entire half the secondary got spanked around in probably one of the most embarrassing performances I've ever seen.   It was a total and complete failure. 

 

The offense is getting way too cute for its own good. Brady doesn't know what the hell to do on third down. I think most fans do. Give it to Cook. Give to Allen for a power run. Keep the ball in the hands of your best players. They galaxy brained themselves out of a win they could have stolen even though it would have been undeserved. 

 

The D-Line continues to create pressure, but the secondary is such a dumpster fire that it doesn't matter.

 

Deone Walker looks good. That's pretty much the only positive from the game.

3 out of our first 4 picks have had damn near zero impact on the field.   We needed better than that.

Agree.  Inexcusable especially on that 4th down stop/fumble.  Cook should have been the guy. Not a craptastic WR.

I think #Bills Joe Brady and Bobby Babich should both be fired over the bye week.

 

It's the only chance to salvage this season.

 

And if the Bills don't turn this around significantly, a full reset is needed in the offseason -- no more Beane and McDermott.

The talent on this team, is just abysmal.  

 

Sure we might make the playoffs, but this is one of the least talented rosters in the McD era.

The stat in the first half, Bills give up 3.5 yards before contact.....wow that is mind blowing bad.   And it didnt improve tonight.

They're not terrible if they're healthy but if Palmer and Samuel are going to miss time they will need to make a move.

Even when they come back I wouldn't be shocked to see them toss a draft pick to bring in a more reliable pass-catching threat, like Cooper.

The one thing about this team in the Dabol/Diggs/Beasley era was...you just felt like anything they dialed up in short yardage was going to work...

Tonight short yardage killed us...again...

The Coleman pass... The flip to Ty... The Moore fumbled handoff... Josh had Shavers wide open and the pass gets tipped... Just murdered on short down situations... It used to look easy...

I'm not defending Coleman anymore. He hasn't progressed at all. Of course I have been consistent in wanting way more investment at that position. I'll take the L on Coleman as a prospect, I was 100% right about the room though. It's deflating to watch my worst fears come true.

 

McDermott has made 3 coordinator hires since Daboll and Frazier left. Babich, Dorsey, Brady. 3 internal hires, two of which turned out horribly, one of which is turning out mediocre. So yes he gets his share of the blame for the team falling out. We have these ridiculous godawful slumps every single year and this year it might have finally cost us the division. That if nothing else should spell his fate.

I'm kinda getting the feeling Coleman isn't totally bought in on the everybody eats thing and it might be affecting his attitude

We lead the NFL in rushing attempts 

 

We literally haven't asked him to do much at all this year.. this is the balanced offense everybody wanted and it's clearly still not the answer
