Loved them like my old dog but time to let go Fans, HC, GM I can understand saying White. But I don't think the plan was to start him long term and stick with him no matter what though. The injuries to Hairston and Strong forced this. But I'm really lost on why you think Gabe Davis, who is on Practice Squad IR and not so much as taking a PS spot and Jordan Poyer, who is on the Practice Squad and played a total of 18 snaps for us so far are "reasons the team is failing"... 10 hours ago, Delete_Delete_Delete said: Why stop there, let’s just keep going back. Let’s bring Doug Whaley back. Hot take alert, but I legit think if he’d drafted Josh, this team would be better off with him at the helm. I hate to break it to you guys - but he's already on the team. Which is why he's being brought up. I also hate to break it to you and I don't know if you've noticed, but we a.) Have an injured WR in Jordan Palmer that may be on the shelf for some time and b.) Don't have anyone beyond Kincaid and Shakir that can get open with any sort of even small consistency. I'm not saying Gabe Davis is the answer by himself. I'm not saying don't look elsewhere. I actually said in the same post that I'd be on the phone with the Saints to try to add one of their WR's as well. But if he's healthy, he certainly couldn't provide less than guys like Elijah Moore and Tyrell Shavers are. They are absolutely useless. Edited Tuesday at 07:19 PM by BillsFanForever19 Quote

He's also a little bit different than some of the other "washed" examples in that... Davis is still 26 years old. 1 1 Quote

Could find a few more glaring examples of his terrible deep ball throwing in the 13 seconds game, also. 1 1 Quote

But that’s just all the more reason to get someone who can make it easier for him. 2 1 Quote
Pete Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I remember lots of Gabe drops and Gave often zigging when he should have zagged, causing many Josh Interceptions. Sanders has not yet done any of the above Quote

Doesn't seem to hit guys right in stride very much. BTW if you want to see a pretty deep ball, check this out: https://www.instagram.com/p/DPzwlB3Aa6Z/?img_index=1 1 Quote

A lot of guys are fast, not many have the ball skills of Smoke, which made him a special player and not easily replaced. 1 1 Quote

Sanders has not yet done any of the above Sanders? Do you mean Shavers? I'll take the guy who might do that at times, but who's career lows with us were 35 receptions, 549 yards, and 6 TD's - over the guy who's on pace for 14 receptions for 140 yards, with a 50% catch rate. Shavers might not "cause" interceptions - but that's because he's consistently not getting open and consistently not being thrown to because of it. Moore and Shavers are providing us with absolutely nothing. Coleman is providing not a whole lot more, but he's not going anywhere. Samuel is here one second gone the next. And now Palmer is "week to week". Davis isn't going to save us. But he's an upgrade over a number of players we're rolling with right now. Edited 8 hours ago by BillsFanForever19 1 Quote
SydneyBillsFan Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I was never anti-Davis, but I was against offering him any more than around 3yrs / 24 million. He would be the perfect WR4 / WR5 with what we have now. All this is assuming that Palmer might be missing a few games and that he can prove his match fitness. He might be limited in route running but he would be our only genuine deep threat. Add in his pass blocking and it's a no-brainer for me to get him onto the active roster. In any event, this should not preclude us from grabbing an Olave type WR before the trade deadline. 1 1 Quote
Blackbeard Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I felt this site was always way too critical of Davis. He had a few drops, and fans couldn’t get passed that. He also was extremely clutch at times and very dependable. Fans forget that. 1 Quote

No one's saying elevating Gabe is the only thing we need to do at WR. But if you think, if healthy, he'd provides less than Tyrell Shavers or Elijah Moore - you're crazy. There's a difference between a player who isn't someone you want starting (Gabe) and a player who is giving us absolutely nothing (Shavers, Moore). And as for him not being signed by anyone else until we signed him to the Practice Squad, most teams aren't in the practice of signing players who are injured. They usually visit with the player and check in on their rehab (as the Steelers, Saints, and 49ers did) and circle back when they're ready to play. Edited 6 hours ago by BillsFanForever19 1 Quote

Shavers very well may be out of the league next year. 2 years ago, we were hopeful we could upgrade on Gabe Davis in the WR room. Now, we are hopeful Gabe can SAVE our WR room. That tells you all you need to know about our WRs 2 1 Quote
T master Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I think Gabe could at least give more to the team in production than Moore has, I hope they bring Gabe in after the by and use Moore as a trade to get another player here that can add to the team because to this point Moors has shown me little bit of nothing from the hype they gave him when they signed him . Colemans also drawing #1 corners more frequently, especially after palmer went out. I feel like AJ Terrell followed him basically the rest of the game. 3 hours ago, RoscoeParrish said: Correct. Also always had a knack for sideline plays, and towing the end zone back line. Quote
