When I suggest we move him to the slot it is not because I think he will flourish but it's because I think it's the only chance he has to contribute on the field.

I really hope this guy breaks out someday

he's  immature,  he cant even get to practice on time.. he's to slow the break out, he might improve but he never going to be a #1 we would be lucky if he turns into a #3 WR. .

What in the Sam Hill is a negative separation route?

Nice pick Beane.  You don’t know ***** about WRs - it’s your Achilles heal.  And you had the nerve to yell at WGR for speaking the truth

Who’d win that matchup?

Paddy cakes championship

What "negative separation" means

Struggling to get open:

A receiver with negative separation is having difficulty creating space from the defender, forcing the quarterback to make riskier throws or overlook them.

Poor route-running:

This can be a symptom of issues with a receiver's route-running technique, speed, or timing with the quarterback.

Sounds like it describes Keon perfectly

He is who we thought he was. I hated the Josh Allen pick at the time and I am delighted to be wrong. I hated the Keon Coleman pick and am sad to be right.

No doubt. The Keon pick was infuriating for reasons beyond just not liking the player. The entire process was a failure. The way that the Bills chose to “address” the WR room after trading Diggs backed them into a corner. They had an incredible WR draft to work with. They needed to come away with at least 2 guys and AT LEAST one of those 2 ready to play 65+% of the snaps and be between 800-1000 yards. They needed a 100+ target guy day 1. Those guys were in the draft even if they didn’t work out. The Bills had to factor in “floor” because they didn’t have starting caliber NFL receivers.

What did they do instead? They traded down twice. The first trade down allowed their biggest nemesis to get the fastest player in combine history. The Bills then settled on a prospect that had MAJOR red flags. That doesn’t mean Keon was destined to fail. It does mean though that he was WAY too big of a gamble for the situation that they were in. They couldn’t risk him being exactly what he is (and exactly what he was in college). So while, I didn’t like the player coming out, the fit was even worse.

This is the guy that they bet on:

outside boundary WR against lesser tier CB's isn't hard to have success.

coleman is so slow yet so massive his gravitational pull is negative and sucks in the defender to his soul

I was hoping to be wrong about the kid,but he is honestly horrible.

Beane just cant scout well, esp. WR talent.

I have playing in my mind lately whether Keon Coleman could be part of a trade and what he'd bring back. Much the way you car depreciates when you drive it off the lot I think our former #33 pick brings back much less than his investment. I'd trade him and a draft pick for one of Olave, Jeudy, Shaheen, Ridley etc.

I'm predicting he'll be traded for pennies in the dollar before we have a chance to exercise his fifth year option.

Seriously....if Beane fell into a box of nipples, he'd probably come up sucking his thumb.

Being a second round pick I don't think he even has a 5th year option so the window on his development is closing fast.

They probably just keep him through the 4 years for at least depth and then let him walk if he doesn't make a leap.

If he doesn't improve or show anything during the playoffs I can see him being off the roster before the end of the '26 season.

I just don’t think that they can admit that failure. This offseason they were feeding the narrative of how improved he was. They were telling us that he was in line for a big year. The Bills are driving, and have been driving, the Keon narrative since he was drafted. If you go through this board for the last year and a half, you will see Keon truthers EVERYWHERE defending him and pumping him up. He is almost certainly the 2nd most worn jersey on Sunday’s in th stadium. It doesn’t feel like they will walk away.

One can argue that he is must worse at picking the D line. I was hoping we traded Coleman during the buy and were done with this clown

Possibly, but that is a lot of confidence in the FO being able to find a handful of guys good enough to push him far enough down the roster to make that happen when their track record on acquiring WR talent lately has been pretty poor.

Idk about the 2nd most jersey worn. I see more Flutie jerseys than Coleman. I also hang out with an older crowd.
