I really dont know, but given there's a nine page thread about the pick of him tells me SOMETHING is. Then again, the only "bad bunny" I know of is the one I squashed on the bike path a few weeks ago with the front wheel of my Enve. 😶

 

If I may, however I find the pick of someone who sings in only Spanish to be an odd pick. Not in some sort of a jingoistic "speak English or shut up" sort of way...just in a "mass appeal" way. Im a promotion/marketing man and I just go by "appeal to the biggest audience possible always" mantra and I dont think this pick does that. Then again, I was really digging "Despacito" when I was down 10 pina colada's at the Punta Cana Hard Rock's central pool this winter, so there's that.

actually, the controversial part for many is that he is not an artist that caters to the fanbase of the football product.

 

to me it's a bad call and therefore controversial because i'd prefer anyone who doesn't suck. it's a football game and not a publicity stunt for the artist.

People really worked themselves into a lather when Shakira performed during the half time show.  Literally, speaking of course.

I didn't realize that he was there and have been meaning to listen to a song or two of his. He did an amazing job in happy gilrmore 2, also.

If you don't look for all the hateful comments online you don't see them , just a heads up.. I don't listen to bad Bunny's music, but my pants are not in a tizzy that he's at the halftime show 

 

It's a show for entertainment, if you don't like it don't watch

It doesn’t matter if it’s in English or Spanish, I can’t understand what most of the recent halftime entertainers are singing anyways. It’s more about the dancing and beat than the lyrics.

it remains interesting to me that jayz received so much leash with what amounts to only a slice of the industry. 
 

not a knock on him or rap music- heck, I went to his show last time he was in town… and rap has a large slice of the market right now….  But even within rap, there are those in and out of his clique. 
 

it’s cliche to say Metallica but in a Bay Area game it could’ve been interesting. You probably couldve also written a script for some sort of west coast punk mash up of Green Day and/or blink…. A call back to Green Day’s Katrina set would’ve been nostalgic.

 

honestly, post Malone as a genre bending nfl fan was one I’ve had circled that could’ve been pretty interesting - could’ve dropped everything from rap to country and had Dave group drum on a nirvana cover in between

He was suspected of murdering Bugs Bunny.  He refused to play in the 50 states in protest of the ICE raids and it seems hypocritical that he accepted the halftime show.  Plus, I can either learn Spanish in four months or can just watch in confusion.

He didn’t tour in the US because he didn’t want ICE harassing his Hispanic fans at concert venues. Since most of the fans at the Super Bowl are rich whites, it’s not an issue.

SMH I lived in S America for a calendar year and traveled extensively EXCUSE ME @-@

I honestly didn’t even read your post, genuinely sorry you took it that way. I just can’t get on board with the crowd who seriously says “learn Spanish” for the halftime show. Nothing wrong with learning languages, but this learn Spanish or your an idiot crowd has come out. I’m not saying that’s you, I’m just saying I’ve seen it, and it’s dumb.

What does it matter anyways.. it's just a bunch of dancers. Half time is a time to go outside and get some fresh air and then grab a few horderves... lol

 

This bunny thing isn't as big of a deal as some make it out to be. Most don't care.
