Texans here-

looking for the worst team in comfortable with not the obvious blowout.

At home, vs a bad team, back against the wall. Demeco vs a rookie qb.

I'm going with the Lions.

Cleveland's defense is darn good. I just don't think the Browns can match them score for score. Lions are at home. I considered the Bills, but I just want to hold that card back.

Wk 1: Broncos

Wk 2: Dallas

Wk 3: Bucs

Wk 4: Lions

Houston and Denver.

Chargers would be a good pick but they have more future value so worth saving.

The problem with your strategy is that you've already burned two of the top four teams in the first four weeks.  You're alive, but down the road you'll have a struggle.

Still Alive is the Key ... Thankfully it's only a 18 week season and there are 14 teams I won't need to touch. I get what you're saying about using better teams up early but you never know if there is a next week in a single loss elimination game. Ask those who picked the Packers or Falcons this past week you just never know.

I've gone Jaguars, Cardinals, Bucs, and now Bills.

Still a lot of good teams left in the arsenal.

Green Bay will destroy Dallas.

Dallas has a horrible defense. Dallas doesn’t have Lamb either.

Yeah Cleveland beat Green Bay but if you look at all of the stats in Cleveland games they held Cincinnati to 140 total yards.
The Ravens to 230 yards and Green Bay to 240 yards.

Cleveland's defense is good. Only reason Ravens won by so much is they got a fumble return for TD and some other turnovers inside Cleveland’s 25 yard line to get an extra 24 points. Game was closer than the score. Cleveland actually outgained the Ravens.
Cleveland will be a handful for Detroit this week.

So the Packers will destroy Dallas.

Rams will be pissed and beat the Colts.

Ravens will beat the Chiefs.

How often do you play survivor pools, and how many people are in your pool? If you want to actually win the pool, the correct strategy is to stay away from the “most popular” picks each week and hope that by the time all of the upsets have knocked most entries out, you still have strong selections available.

But there are certainly lots of players just picking the biggest spreads each week and “trying to stay alive” — and I hope they are in the pool I’m in! 😉

I've used Denver, Dallas and Seattle.  Trying to save the very best teams for when I really need them.  So, gonna try and avoid the Bills if possible.  Detroit could have some hangover after that big Baltimore win and Cleveland can play defense.

Chargers are an interesting one to me this week.  Yes, flying across the country is not ideal, but can anyone realistically see the Giants winning that game?

Actually, yes.  The Giants D is REAL, the offense may be much less offensive with Dart or it may somehow be worse.  The biggest thing is, there’s no tape on the guy and he CAN move and one would hope he can at least throw the ball to his WRs not DBs, we’ll see on that.   The Chargers have been rolling, but I’m not a believer yet and the Giants are a dumpster fire, but I’m not sure a LOT of that wasn’t just Russ’ cookin.

I don’t like Detroit at Cleveland either, again that D is something else.  The O scores in spurts, it wouldn’t shock me to see a Det let down and Cleveland find a way to win.

The Bills are the clear safe pick.

I posted that before the Dart news. I agree with all of your points.   I decided to go with Houston this week.

picking bills for week 4. have been wisely picking the first 4 weeks to not pick some of the contested ones.

i'm saving matchups against giants, saints, browns, and nfc south opponents, as well as dolphin opponents. i cna't pick the jets opponents when they have a good defense

I just play in the ESPN one, in a group of thousands. I've survived a season before only to get knocked out week 1 the following year. I usually get knocked out when a team that shouldn't lose loses, hopefully this isn't that week ... Who is your pick ?
