Low Positive Posted September 9 Posted September 9 If you left early, you have to stand at mid midfield at 7:00 pm next Thursday and let the team throw rotten tomatoes at you to hold you "accountable." And then we all get to throw bags of dog poo at McDermott to finally hold him accountable for 13 seconds. 1 Quote

My dad (getting up there in years) wanted to leave after the Henry TD made it 40-25 so that we could beat the traffic on our drive back to Rochester. I convinced him to stick out 1 more drive and to stay if the Bills scored, but then we punted with 9 minutes left in the game. Couldn't justify sticking this one out when my dad was already exhausted from the long day and it felt like we had 1% chance of winning. It's nothing short of miraculous that our DEF forced two 3 and outs and a fumble after that. We had only forced 1 punt (and no turnovers) on the Ravens first 9 drives. Well I guess you’re just a fake fan 😂 …. Kidding of course: as I stated before, I have limited patience with all these so called arbiters of fandom Edited September 9 by AlCowlingsTaxiService 1 Quote

Buffalo ill Posted September 10 Posted September 10 Getting into online pissing contests over who is the biggest fan is some consolation prize mentality. Our team has never won a superbowl so all we have is some arbitrary title of "best fan base". Might as well be a "worlds best dad" coffee mug. Quote

Bills Bud Posted September 10 Posted September 10 Josh calling out the fans was weak. People have to work, to pay his contract. 4 beers 77 dollars. 20k psl… and the other fans that are mad watch the game at home or go once a year 3 Quote
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted September 10 Posted September 10 Maybe people had certain individual reasons...sure, get your 95 year old gramps home...but a *mass* exodus like that when it's a primetime season opener and the best QB in franchise history is only down a couple scores is a straight up weenie move and indicative of a fanbase that expects to be the bug rather than the windshield even though the team has been really good for the better part of a decade. 1 1 1 Quote

Historically the Bills are the bug in that situation. You can’t blame fans for losing a little faith sometimes, especially when the Bills are usually on the other end of those crazy comeback wins. Give people a break, I'm sure they’re regretting their decision Quote

And based on your history here, you should probably say less about others on this board. I have nothing against stay-at-home-fans like yourself but like McDermott says.........know your role. You have no business talking sh!t about the fans who pay the Bills while you are farting into your couch in California on game days. Lead, follow or shaddup. 3 Quote

Alphadawg7 Posted September 10 Posted September 10 3 hours ago, AlCowlingsTaxiService said: Love ‘em both … but we as fans don’t live in their world Which is totally fine - but what Josh said is also totally fine. Reality is that if the Bills were up or game was tied 30% of the stadium wouldn’t have left. All he is saying is the game was still winnable, have a little more faith next time. 30% of the stadium just missed out on one of the biggest comebacks and moments in the stadium history and in prime time of the home opener of the last year in the stadium. If there was ever a night to stay a little longer that was it — but people left cuz they didn’t Bill-ieve and all he said was have a little more faith next time. He didn’t throw anyone under the bus, just pointed out had people had a little more faith they would have witnessed greatness. You compared it earlier to that deuche canoe Watkins, and Josh’s comments were no where that realm is really all I was saying. Im cool with people if they left, everyone has there own reasons and circumstances…I’m just defending Josh and his comments as not being inflammatory like that loser Watkins. 3 Quote
muppy Posted September 10 Posted September 10 this whole debate makes me chippy. Fans pay good money to attend an NFL game and is their prerogative when they leave. In retrospect of course they will forevermore be reminded NOT TO EVER LEAVE EARLY with #17 as our QB. and be regretful they did. But let's be real. It wasn't Allens prowess they doubted. II was the Bills defense ability to stop Henry which appeared hopeless . 1% chance of Victory? come on now. this was discussed at length in a different thread. POINT TAKEN. Lets move on shall we. I watched it with resignatiion and sickness in my heart we were going to lose so I get it. I am a HUGE Bills fan. Sue Me. Thank Goodness they did win BOTTOM LINE 1 Quote

Calling out any fans is a recipe for problems. Just ask Sammy Watkins. Josh has certainly stockpiled plenty of goodwill with fans, unlike Watkins, but still … tread gently here Yeah... this. They paid didn't they? They should be able to do whatever they want without criticism. People have to work and keep up in this capitalist system so many worship. Real life vs. a game..? How about some of you put this energy into the real culprits... the NFL suits. You think they're complaining with their profit margins? Quote
BobbyC81 Posted September 10 Posted September 10 The only game I ever left early was in the winter of ‘96. It was so cold that the vendors ran out of hot chocolate in the first quarter. The Bills were up big on the Jets, me in from California, my brother and wife from Texas, so we got the hell out of there in the 4th Quarter. Even my nephews who live there wanted to leave. Quote
