Freddie's Dead Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Well we have the first installment of the GAME BALLS thread. Josh, Cook and Shakir get automatic game balls and I pick three O, three D, and let you have at it. Without further ado, this week's GAME BALLS: Matt Prater - Ice water in his veins, he calmly kicked the GWFG as time expired. Ironically, the bills would have won the game in real time if McD had just allowed him to kick XP's every time. Joshua Palmer - Big catches down the stretch led directly to the comeback. Keon Coleman - Shook off the error on the two-point conversion to comeback and make clutch catches on the final drive. Jackson Hawes - Sometimes you get a game ball for a single play. Nice catch to take it down to the one yard line to get us within a score. Ed Oliver - One of the few to show up on defense tonight. Had the forced fumble that turned the game around. WHO YA GOT? 3 1 Quote

Coach Tuesday Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Allen, Oliver, Coleman, Cook. Cook is the outlier but I thought he ran almost every play perfectly and in some cases overcame a bad play situation. He looked pretty elite tonight. 1 Quote
Walking Tall Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago A little love for Dorian Strong. Low round rookie had a decent night. 6 1 1 Quote
folz Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Allen Oliver Coleman Benford And welcome to Buffalo Matt Prater, Jackson Hawes, and Joshua Palmer. All had big plays to make the comeback happen. Loved to see how excited and happy Bosa and Prater were after the win. I think this game/big win will really help the new guys settle into the culture more quickly. 2 Quote
Peace Frog Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Offense: Josh Allen Defense: Ed Oliver ST: Matt Prater And sorry, I had to troll the Ravens on Twitter. 3 Quote
Maine-iac Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago How does Bosa not make this list. He was the first one to force a fumble and he was putting pressure on Lamar all night. 2 1 1 Quote
Logic Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) Josh because he's the ***** GOAT. Keon for making big time plays in big time moments. Palmer for that slick route that put the Bills in game winning field goal range. Ed Oliver for having a GAME and for the strip of Henry. Prater for getting off a plane, coming off the practice squad, and storming into our hearts. John Harbaugh for deciding to punt the ball away to super Saiyan Josh Allen instead of trying to gain 3 yards at the end. Jaire Alexander for tripping Keon up instead of leaving his Ravens with 40 seconds to answer back. GO BILLS!!! Edited 3 hours ago by Logic Quote

Most of the offense. I know it's everybody eats and that's not sexy but Shakir, Kincaid, and Cook all had pretty key plays at different times. 1 Quote
Ben Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Its really exciting that Colemans best pro game came against a great defense. It looks like the talk of his improvement in camp was legit. 5 Quote
sven233 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) The first page of the final chapter was just written..... OFFENSE: Allen Coleman (2nd half) Palmer (4th quarter) Cook Hawes (I mean come on.....the dude was blocking guys all night and then makes one of the biggest plays of the game on a catch he juggled like 3 times) Prater (obviously.....what a pro. I don't need to see Bass kick for this team again. Prater is not the long term answer, but it was nice to not be extremely nervous for every kick tonight.) DEFENSE: Oliver Strong (For being a rookie under the brightest of lights, he didn't get mentioned much. Yes, WRs were running open at times, but I am not sure how many of those were on him until I watch the All 22. I reserve the right to remove him if the tape tells a different story. HA!) Bosa (Had a few good pressures, got fooled a couple times, but I think his presence really helped Oliver out tonight. OTHERS Harbaugh for punting the ball on their last possession instead of trying to win the game on 4th and 3. JOCK STRAPS McDermott and Babich (months to put together a game plan to at least slow Henry down but instead, barely touched him the entire game except for the great play by Big Ed at the end.) Whoever forgot to block Hamilton on the game winning FG. That was a fingertip away from being a complete disaster. Look....this was a wild game. Maybe the wildest regular season game ever? It's up there. There is a lot to learn and take out of this game and it's much better to take the lessons from a win than a loss. The defense was terrible outside of a couple of players and plays. The offense until sometime in the 2nd half was way too conservative as usual. I'm hoping if nothing else comes out of this game on offense, it shows Brady that we are at our best slinging the ball down the field and not the dinking and dunking he's been doing recently.......really since the Lions game last season. Allen wants to sling it. The WRs are more suited to make plays down the field. Are weapons just aren't fast enough or shifty enough to create separation off the line. But, what they can do is use their size to their advantage and when you give them some space, they can make plays. I'm not talking 40+ yards down the field, just in that intermediate 20-30 yard range. Allen is the best player in the world and when you reign him in and force him to throw east and west with unathletic and slower weapons, you are basically neutering him. Let Josh be Josh. Trust him to make the right plays down the field and then take off running if it's not there. I am not going to get started on the defense and McDermott. It would be a 5 page post. Obviously they have to be a lot better. Anyway, I don't want to bring the high down. It feels nice to be on the right side of one of these all-time great games for a change. Clean this stuff up and get better. Edited 2 hours ago by sven233 2 2 Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Instead of game balls, I'm giving steak dinners. First knock the obvious ones out of the way: Allen Oliver Prater Coleman Then the ones I feel deserve some love. Maybe they get a smaller steak with a side of shrimp. hondo in seattle Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago It's hard for me to give a whole lotta love to a defense that gave up 40 points and 8.6 yards per play. So I'll limit myself to one game ball per squad: Offense: Josh Defense: Ed ST: Matt Same as Peace Frog but without the trolling. 1 Quote
MJS Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) In order: Josh Allen Ed Oliver Keon Coleman James Cook Matt Prater (Weird that he is a Bill) Dalton Kincaid Can't give the defense too much more props outside of Oliver because they gave up 40 points, but Benford and Strong were also solid. Honorable mentions. Spencer Brown had some nice run blocks as well. He can be another honorable mention. Edited 2 hours ago by MJS 1 Quote

I'm hoping if nothing else comes out of this game on offense, it shows Brady that we are at our best slinging the ball down the field and not the dinking and dunking he's been doing recently...... At one point in the first half, the announcers said 41% of Allen's passes were behind the line of scrimmage. I acknowledge that dink-and-dunk is appropriate in some circumstances. Brady did a lot of dink-and-dunk in his time. But nearly half of the passes behind the LOS sounds like the stat line of a rookie QB who hasn't earned the confidence of his coach. Josh is a future HOFer, the reigning MVP, and probably Buffalo's best QB ever. You've got to let him air it out sometimes. 2 Quote
