Gregg Posted September 3 Posted September 3 https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/46145896/sources-jets-alijah-vera-tucker-significant-arm-injury He is arguably their best OL, so this is a big blow to a team that is facing a tough season. Good for the Bills when they play them in week 2. Quote

They do suck but they always get up for the Bills and give them a hard time at MetLife. The Bills are 1-2 in their last three trips there. In last year's 23-20 Bills win the Jets missed two FG's and an extra point. The Bills probably win but I bet it won't be easy. 1 1 Quote
BarleyNY Posted September 3 Posted September 3 This might really impact their quest for third place in the AFCE. 2 4 Quote

Malazan Posted September 3 Posted September 3 That guy is hurt and misses games every year. The only season he played them all was his rookie season. Quote

We missed a FG and an extra point. we also gave up a hail mary 11 penalties for 94 yards (Jets had a ton too), but I remember the calls being pretty not great to us (lol the link below, cant find the spencer brown unsporstman like that wiped away a DPI). So yes they do give us a tough time but it seems to be more us screwing it up than them playing at another level. Quote

I would bet by the end of the season they are a tough run first team that plays well on special teams and doesn't beat itself. I have no idea how many wins they will have but I love Aaronn Glenn as a coach. All those guys who grew up around Parcells I am partial to. Losing tucker is a big blow to how they want to play the game. Quote
Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted September 3 Posted September 3 Probably damaged from signing his ridiculously long name. Should switch to initials? 🤔 Quote
billsfan89 Posted September 3 Posted September 3 I hate seeing injuries. And while I am not fan of the Jets I never root for injuries. And I actually really loved Vera Tucker out of the draft. I thought that was such a good pick for the Jets at the time. And he's been good when he plays he has just had really poor luck with injuries. 1 Quote

Frankly, I'm wondering if this season is going to be a contest between Miami, New York (Jets) and New England for who can be last ln the division. Edited September 3 by BigAl2526 Quote

The Jets games away are always funky "knuckleball" type games in recent years. The Bills gave away the 2023 season opener with all those insane turnovers by Josh and the Special Teams TD in OT, they barely escaped in 2024 on a tight game where missed kicks helped the Bills a lot, and a close loss in a 3 point game again in 2022. Jets physical defense and decent talent elsewhere make those games harder. It is coaching and at QB where the Bills make up the margins and even then Josh has had some of his worst regular season efforts against the Jets away... 1 Quote

Because there are injuries in almost every practice and every quarter of every game. I was watching the Tennessee-Syracuse game on Saturday. And in the span of less that a quarter there were at least 5 guys injured. Its a violent game. And it seems like there are always lower extremity injuries. And of course guys getting the wind knocked out of them and concussions of varying severity. You would think that with all the modern training that injuries would be less, but it just doesn't seem to happen that way. Quote

I get that it is a part of the sport and that there's just only so much the league could do and the players know the risks now more than ever. But yeah I hate seeing players get hurt. Quote

In each of the ‘23 and ‘24 games @ NYJ, Hall ripped off a huge chunk run. He didn’t play in the ‘22 game, but Michael Carter did have a 25-yard scamper in Hall’s place. Quote

Unfortunately, injuries happen to every team every year. Quote
