Bills' players and Coach snubbed!

Allen didn't even register a single vote to being MVP this year.  Dawkins, who lobbied for the respect and award for Lineman...no vote.  And no vote for our Coach.

Makes sense, because now that they signed Poyer, they are apparently going 8-8 from what I read here.

it’s very rare for an MVP to go back to back so that probably factored into the people that wrote in the article not listing Josh

 

McDermott would probably have to go 17-0 to get coach of the year since the Bills have been a perennial contender and have Josh Allen

 

Dawkins is probably the biggest snub but feels like the at is mostly just a name award and Dawkins probably isn’t as big a name as most on that list.

Especially when the last award was so hotly debated. Voters probably felt the odds of a repeat are low and at the same time also felt that since Allen got the nod this year, Jackson would next year - if it were close again (and odds are it will be).

 

I'm not the type of fan to get upset by "snub" and I think there's logic that can explain why he didn't get a vote in this. I don't think a single voter on that list is arguing that Josh Allen isn't an MVP caliber QB.

OK, but reading this, makes it sound like Allen was actually tied with Jackson for MVP??  Maybe they just left his name off by mistake since wasa tie??

I'm not a McDermott fan but you can see the theme for coach of the year. They are mostly reclamation project teams or teams that have not been even to a Championship game that are expected to compete.

They're tied in betting markets, which makes it even more weird that not one of 20 analysts thought he could win.

But... he has an MVP, so I dont care if he ever wins another.   How many MVP award for Aikman? ZERO!  How many superbowl wins?  THREE.  Superbowls are all that matters now.

You missed in the very next bullet point:

 

"Allen, a top contender for this year's prize but absent on all of our analysts' ballots, could become just the fifth player in the Super Bowl era to pull off a repeat (joining Joe Montana, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers)."

 

Interesting that there were 29 voters and not one single vote was cast for a Bills player.

A marginally interesting aspect of this for me is that it's questionable whether the Bills would even use this as bulletin board material.

 

While teams generally pounce on the opportunity to use snubs for motivation, in this case it sends the message that individual accolades are more important than team ones... never a good message.

It’s almost impossible to win MVP two years in a row. Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodger’s did it, but that’s it. Never even happened for Brady. So unless Allen is far superior to every other QB this season he won’t win it.

 

Also this has the feel of being upset over a mock draft selection.
