If Benford is hurt, we are cooked.  I hope it’s not some lingering concussion issue…

The fact that he left practice, didn't make the trip to Tampa, and then didn't practice is a huge concern imo.  Dane Jackson and Jamarcus Ingram as our two starting corners is not ideal.

Are you referring to our first round pick, Max Hairston? If so, damn right we do. He starts as soon as he is healthy. He WAS showing great speed and awreness according to many reports before he got hurt. Only way we don't start him is if Tre White balls out - which I highly doubt happens. Good if he does but let's be real.

Maybe you're right. I was assuming that he wasn't ready, but I suppose he could learn on the job.

Ok, I feel a bit better. You've changed the image of my head from a truck heading toward a brick wall to a plane taking off with the mechanics running after it making last-minute repairs to one of the wings.

There seems to be an odd conspiracy theory, floating around TBD, that McD/Beane intentionally put a week-one starting cornerback onto the practice squad.

Not me.  I hate when we're always playing from behind.  Get the ball, get the lead and stay out in front.

If the Bills start with the ball first and dont score then they are way behind. Alternatively if the Bills start on defense and stop them then they are way ahead.

It does feel like it's going to be that kind of game, doesn't it? I don't see this defense stopping Henry and Jackson--except via turnovers, a big exception--and I'm confident that even the Ravens defense will have trouble with Allen and Cook. But the relative difference between the units is lopsided.

To put it another way, Allen/Cook > Jackson/Henry, but Ravens D > Bills D.

To put it still another way, the Bills O would absolutely destroy, shred, mutilate the Bills D, while the Ravens will merely destroy it. 😕

Unfortunately Jackson/Henry are better than Allen/Cook. We will need a lot of luck (again) and help from the officials (again) to beat Ravens this time. Fingers crossed!

The ravens are more talented overall, but they were more talented than the Chiefs last year and lost week 1. Jackson and Harbaugh are 0-2 in week 1 road primetime games. The Bills have lost one home week 1 game with McDermott/Josh (non-primetime). Week 1 of the last year of Highmark and being a night game should give a nice edge for the Bills which is why they are favored by Vegas in the game.
