Interesting that there isn’t a thread for who we think will start if Tre can’t go which I believe is the most likely outcome for week one.

I’m betting we start Dorian Strong. He seemed to be trending up toward the end of preseason and is someone with the kind of boundary coverage skills the coaches will want (assuming he’s far enough along in defensive concepts). I like Ingram better when teams spread us out and we need to go dime.

What do you guys think? Is Dorian far enough along to warrant being 2nd string on the outside?

I know we are a bit banged up at corner, but will this be the first time that we face these guys with a fully healthy front 7, including Bernard, Milano, and Taron?

This Bills D have a difficult task ahead of them. The Baltimore offense is one of the best in league. Their run game is outstanding, efficient passing game, and the best in the red zone. Of course, this is a new year but I don't see a huge dropoff if any from the Ravens offense.

Obviously, it's not optimal that the Bills secondary is banged up and have other on the line suspended. I have to think the Ravens will attempt the Bills weaknesses. I'm not sure the Bills can get the Ravens off the field in 3rd downs.

I think is a really solid take, but I wouldn't make the assumption it will force Baltimore out of these sets. Likely missed time last year and Charlie Kolar filled in. Then they brought in Lucas Scott, a rookie, near 300 pounder to play FB. He is on the practice squad, but I would imagine they activate him for Sunday. Mind you these players are less impactful than Likely and Ricard, but I don't imagine these issues will force a complete identity change.

I don't know about the wanting it or needing it more. Both teams are experienced and know the importance of getting the win.

I think it's more about match ups and injuries than desire and strength of scheduling.

Sure, but the bills can afford to lose this game, the ravens can’t. I think that will have some impact on players psyche, even if it’s subconscious. In coin flip games I think it matters.

I disagree. That's not the thought process, mind set, and thinking of professional players. You always hear players and coaching talking about a week by week basis and game by game mentality. It's the complete opposite of what you are saying. It's week 1 and there's no way the Bills players are thinking about your theme subconsciously or not.

I’m aware of what players and coaches say.

I don’t think it’s possible for players to look at the schedule and not recognize certain things.

Bills are surely up for revenge each and every time they play the Chiefs in the playoffs.  Never seems to matter so far.

If we lose our home opener due to motivation, McDermott should be fired.

This is a premise talked about in the media and with fans, but any person who played sports at a high level will tell you that the only thing that matters when the ball kicks off is your talent and preparation.

One Raven I always fear is Justice Hill. For whatever reason, that guy just owns us. We can’t let him pick up these easy 8-yard gains on dump offs all game.

Only the guilty fear Justice.
