The Bills Have a Shavers Problem?

Samuel had 253 yards and 1 TD in the regular season, not really seeing these big plays... He had 2 TD in the playoffs but only 81 yards total.

I could definitely see that happening too. I love codrington as a return guy, but I’d rather have shenault due to his ability as a pass catcher/ball carrier

I'm for him making the team if it makes sense. I like the dude, but what Shenault brings as a special teamer and maybe a gadget guy on offense is really all Shavers is up against for not making the team. 

 

With CBs going down and deciding on who to keep out of our 37 D lineman makes me think they don't keep more than 6 receivers, with Shavers feeling like the 7th WR on the list behind Keon, Khalil, Josh, Curtis, Elijah, and Laviska. 

 

Who's knows though. Elijah hasn't done himself any favors this traing camp.

PUP makes sense gives Moore time to work in season with Josh. My hope is that Moore actually proves his worth because he can actually run NFL routes and separate like none of our other receivers on our roster and then they just say bye-bye to Samuel Mr. gadget

You’re looking at a stat sheet talking and about making big plays…. 
 

yes- he made at least 3 big plays that I can remember. Sorry that your stat line doesn’t support that fact.

Shenault is toast. His only chance was as a Return man and Codrington definitively beat him. He consistently Started over him.

 

Also, with all the injuries at CB - the idea that they'd keep 6 this year instead of the 5 they've kept at WR the past couple seasons seems highly unlikely.

Best kick returner BY FAR this preseason and has similar a gadgety style skillset to make Moore and/or Samuel redundant.

 

I don't think Shenault makes it, but if he does I think Brady would believe he can weaponize him like Cordarrel Patterson.

He missed the trip tonight sick. Turns out he's got a new form of foot fungus that they will need to send samples to Switzerland for them to work up a cure. His foot actually fell off during the procedure and they expect a new one to grow in roughly 6-8 weeks.

Honestly, with the way things are shaping out and with so many injuries in the Secondary - that honestly seems like the only way he does.

 

That or another team taking most of Samuel's contract off our hands in a Trade, but I don't see that happening.

Elijah Moore was pulled at the exact same time - does that make him safe too?

Sure seems clear what the coaches think. I actually think Shenault is better at kickoff returns, but that's not all there is to the roster spot...

Shavers probably makes it but also probably doesn't dress. He's realistically 3rd outside WR after Palmer and Coleman.  If one of those guys misses a few weeks then he could dress on game day. He's not taking inside reps. He's not a gadget guy like Samuel. He's not taking red zone reps from Coleman and Kincaid. And he's not returning kicks. That leaves gunner which we dont even know if he us any good at.

Nice story but if he actually plays then they are probably not in a good spot with injuries.
