blacklabel Posted Monday at 12:48 PM Posted Monday at 12:48 PM Honestly ever since they signed this dude I feel like I've seen his name consistently pop up in camp reports filed under "hey this guy looks pretty good." Hope he sticks! 1 1 Quote

Any other year and I'd say he's a lock to make the roster just for kick coverage. Ciarlo's problem is that Shavers has managed to shine and get himself a roster spot. But now McBeane's problem is that Shavers hasnt been doing much on special teams. Tricky problem to have. I'll definitely be watching how it all plays out this week. Which is odd because special teams was Shaver’s MO at Alabama. I mean that’s all he did. I’m pretty sure he had 1 career reception there. 23 hours ago, davefan66 said: I agree. The Bears game tainted these guys. Our starters have had bad games from the Kelly era to Josh’s era. Never have I seen such backlash from the fans. Andreessen will have a good career. Great? I don’t know. But good. Those fans can speak for themselves. There’s a percentage of us that got a stable head on our shoulders and know preseason is meaningless other than the guys competing for a roster spot. I’ve gotten excited too many times in preseason from the likes of Jeff Tuel and Brian Brohm. I know it means absolute dog **** now. 1 Quote

Of course instincts and feel for the game play a huge role... but we're talking about two players at the front end of their careers. It's like people watched "The Bears vs Buffalo Joe" and have decided that Andreesen will never be anything more than the player he was one week ago. Quote

He didn’t live up to his draft hype, but he’s a good returner, mediocre WR and could be used as an emergency RB if push came to shove. I don’t know who makes more sense for them, but it’s basically him or Coddrington for the returner/emergency position player IMO. I don’t care to see either out there aside from returns, but if I HAD to have one, I’d rather it be Shenault, Coddrington is just not good at CB and WILL get burned. In an ideal world, you get a guy like Ty Johnson as the returner, who has a clear place on the team already and you don’t have to use a roster spot on a guy that’s really only doing one thing for you. Why they don’t take that approach is beyond me, it’s not like Ty is getting to so many reps at RB that he couldn’t do both. Stay in your lane on KO coverage. 1 Quote

I mean if he did, based on what I've seen of Ciarlo's girlfriend that bitterness may be warranted. Seriously though it's WILD how aggressive folks get towards these players. 1 1 1 Quote

Because he played a lot of defense for the Bills in Preseason. Maybe you are mixing up who this is? 1 Quote

He looked good at coverage, and was aggressive. Hopefully he clears waivers, if so, Jimmy will be on practice squad most definetly 2 Quote

Interesting to see what you can find even in the summer when everyone's 90 man rosters are filled. Quote

But for a guy who was mostly a LB, it would be really tough. Playing in space is a major adjustment for guys used to playing near the line of scrimmage. of the top of my head, I don’t know anyone who loves from LB to S in the nfl whereas the other way happens a good amount (see Matt Milano).
