Just discovered there's a Hard Knocks podcast - hosted by Siciliano.  First ep has Fitz as guest.  Just started watching

Edit: Finished watching.  A lot of rehash initially that will be nothing new for Bills fans - but Fitz portion is worth the watch

Alls I asked for was that the show not be hokee. I never thought that the Bills of the 90s played well to a national audience—something was always off and awkward. For HK, the hoke is there, but so are some genuinely good guys inside the building and that always plays well.

Come on!!!

I LOVED THE EPISODE!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏

Winning Culture

The wait of the world is on Allen’s manly shoulders.

Dion Dawkins is THE MAN!!!

Tre is a g dog. The camp roster was rounded out smartly, with some edge. This team is a bigger step better from last season than any other top ten organization. I think. But Defense will decide if that potential is realized, right?

?Will we see Mr. Pegula meet with Beane? Based on that ep., It’s TP—>McD—>JA17

I’m still astonished at the young, inexperienced coordinators this team has. It wasn’t too long ago we had medium to very experienced OCs and DCs. I really want to see more of the dynamics between McDermott and the coordinators. Is he giving a master class mentorship to a winning culture—but maybe a more astute Xs&Os and big game manager OC or DC goes on to outclass him on the scoreboard as HC somewhere else? But props to Sean. Every single team in the league would be better off having had McDermott serve as its HC at one time or another. We are all rooting for him to get that ring!

Taron Johnson made me laugh the most. Smart. Resourceful. Honest. Attitude. TJ7.

Damar Hamlin has a roster spot for life. He’s worth his weight in gold to THIS locker room. I have a feeling he’s the quiet inspiration of the entire thing. 52+DH3 is greater than any other 53rd man imaginable. All I kept thinking was.. Damar Hamlin winning a Super Bowl with the Bills, wowww :goosebumps:

There's very few people I've heard from that doesn't like Liev Schreiber's voice as the narrator.  Would you prefer Maddy Glab?

I literally named an alternative.

The guy is boring AF.

I disagree.  Liev Schrieber does a nice job...and actually has done narration for the History channel as well.

He definitely belongs on the History Channel, perfect voice to take a nap to.

Spoiler alert, season 1 of The Wire was solid, not spectacular, just solid. Season 2 was a TOTAL bore, seasons 3 & 4 are the meat and potatoes of the show. Absolutely great stuff with some calling season 4 the best written season in TV history (I’m more partial to 3). Season 5 was back to being okay.

Somebody gets it. I never understood the Best of All Time hype. I think True Detective season 1 is up there. Plenty of other shows were better than The Wire

For some reason I thought Liev Schrieber was a woman. Please tell me I'm wrong.

It doesn't happen often, but I'm thinking you're wrong on this one.

"I'm the blackest man you know" - Tre' White.  I spit out my drink when I heard that.  Jesus, just too funny 🤣

I find that odd, too.

It reminds me of the army.  During duty hours, a soldier will be called by rank and surname: "Corporal Jones."  But even off-duty when hanging out with friends, he's typically called, "Jones" instead of his first name.  I think this creates an emotional buffer which can be useful when soldiers are hurt or killed, but also a sense of unity, identity, and camaraderie.  It's like a reminder that you aren't hanging out with your undisciplined, dope-smoking, sleep-till-noon high school or college buddies anymore.  You're in a different world, now.

I wonder what Josh's rationale is.

Feels like a fun pet-name, for lack of a better term.  Def didnt take it as a stiff work thing.

Finally watched it this evening. I wonder if anyone with the Bills organization spoke to Dion about drifting without wearing a racing harness. He had one on the kids, but not on himself.

I've heard some chatter about kids in the car while drifting and just him drifting at all (with possible risks and all. I don't know a whole lot about drifting tbh, but I hear you don't really go that fast. It's more about spinning wheels. Idk

Watched it last night and was more concerned not having the kids harnessed. He can make his choices. His children cannot.

Have you seen how large he is? He’s not going anywhere. I’m more concerned about the car

At least one of the kids was in a harness I noticed. That's what made me pay more attention to see if he had one on in any of the scenes.

All it takes is some loose gravel, or a tie rod breaking, to have the car go out of control and him start bouncing around inside of it.

I checked the calendar and I can say with quite certainty it has been about 3 years since the debut of episode one.

Hard Knocks should be everyday at about 10 pm.

Just a friendly reminder to a few, if you have Max, and 9pm doesn’t work for your schedule, by tomorrow morning at 5am you can watch the replay.  That’s what I typically do with things that don’t work for me evening schedule.

Everyone is different, but we get up at 5am, and I get one hour of bliss in the morning to make my wife breakfast and coffee, and watch something of interest to both of us.  Then off to the gym, and onward for the day.
