Well there is no way they’re only keeping 3 DTs. Alec Anderson is OL also.

The only way shavers makes the team at WR6 is for special teams. A possibility but I would think they’d prefer the depth elsewhere.

You also have them keeping Hancock twice.

i am going to start fresh with a full 53 in a bit I hope

MY PROJECTED 53 MAN ROSTER
                                                                           QB- Allen, Trubisky

OT- Dawkins, Brown, Grable, Van Demark

OG- Edwards, Torrence, Anderson

C- McGovern, Van Pran-Granger

RB- Cook, Davis, Johnson

FB- Gilliam

TE- Kincaid, Knox, Hawes

WR- Shakir, Coleman, Palmer, Samuel, Moore

DE- Rousseau, Bosa, Epenesa, Jackson, Solomon

DT- Oliver, Sanders, Carter, Jones, Walker

LB- Milano, Bernard, Williams, Andreessen, Ulofoshio

LCB- Benford, Strong

RCB- White, Hairston                                                                                    NB- Johnson, Lewis

SS- Rapp, Bishop                                                                                       FS- Hamlin, Forrest

K - Bass

P - Robbins

KR & PR - Codrington

LS - Ferguson

I have 52 players listed above. The last roster spot will come down to: Spector, Ingram, Hancock, Shavers, and Green

SUSPENDED LIST: Larry Ogunjobi and
Michael Hoecht

Both are serving 6 game suspensions for violating the NFL’s performance enhancing drug policy. Both doesn’t count against the 53 man roster during their suspensions, however Bills will need to release and or trade 2 players once Ogunjobi and Hoecht return from suspension.

I’ve got Beane trading Kendrick Green or Ja’Marcus Ingram before week 1

Im not sure Lundt beats of VanDemark nor am I convinced White will beat out Trubisky but I agree with your other 43.

Will be interesting to see what they do with the PED cheats. Ive not heard a word about either in camp. Given the lack of depth at DT and Bosa history they probably will both make it but I would not be shocked if one or both are just cut even before eligible to return.

QB - Allen, Trubisky

RB - Cook, Davis, Johnson

FB - Gilliam

WR - Shakir, Coleman, Palmer, Samuel, Moore

TE - Knox, Kincaid, Hawes

OT - Dawkins, Brown, Grable, Van Demark

OG - Torrence, Edwards, Anderson

C - McGovern, Van Pran-Granger

Offensive thoughts: This side of the ball is almost identical to last years roster with the exception of 3 changes (Hollins, MVS, Q Morris). I think it’s fairly straight forward to predict. The QB, RB and OL rooms remain unchanged while the 3rd sting TE and WR rooms get a mild change.

DE - Bosa, Rousseau, Jackson, Solomon, Epinessa

DT - Oliver, Jones, Sanders, Walker, Carter,

LB - Bernard, Milano, Williams, Andreesen, Spector, Ulofoshio

CB - Benford, Hairston, White, Johnson, Strong, Codrington (KR/PR)

S - Rapp, Bishop, Forrest, Lewis, Hancock

Defensive thoughts: This is where the challenge lies. A lot of the competition here is new arrival late round picks vs older more seasoned back end of the roster players. With the youth movement on D, I option to keep some of the younger guys (Ulofoshio over Thompson, Strong over Ingram). A few tough cuts here with Demar Hamlin, Dane Jackson. I think they like Cam Lewis as a jack of all trades emergency DB so I think of the “old guard” players he will be back. You would suspect that Beane will have foresight in how to approach when Hoecht and Ogunjobi return, as there is no way they will keep 12 DL. Maybe he is counting on some injuries or the trade market, but my guess is someone not subject to waivers would be in the plans in order to handshake deal bring them back to the PS like Forrest, Epinessa or even DaQuon Jones (3 guys who are likely done here next year anyway).

Add in your 3 special teams roster locks and there is 53.

I think this is pretty close. I think Chase Lundt is going to make it. Been having a really solid camp and VPG is yet to emerge from PUP. Will be interesting to see how they juggle IOL in pre-season but if we see Grable or Lundt get some time at guard I think that spells trouble for VPG.

I still think Hamlin is making it. I'd probably swap him in for Forrest.

Finally if they are working Dane in at Gunner that makes me suspect they are trying to find him a route to the roster too. They could either keep just five linebackers (cutting Eddy O or Spector) or choose Jackson over Strong. Again will want to see how they shuffle resource in the pre-season games. Four or five days ago I would have had Jackson on the outs. But the fact Max is gonna miss so much time in camp plus the Gunner thing.... Im leanjng back the other way a bit.

This was the first projection I came close to agreeing.  As mentioned, Ogunjobi, and Hoecht will return week 8 after or during the bye, so we’ll swap out a DE and DT, for the two suspended so two of the depth guys will be moved to the PS.

Good job for a first attempt, hard to disagree with much of anything.

I do think we keep too many LBs for a team that plays a lot of nickel and one more is expendable for a guy we don’t want to lose.

I also think Mike white could take Trubiskys job but I want to see it during the preseason games.

Codrington was very good as a returner last year but with the way our team values versatility Beane has to be hoping Davis or Ty Johnson can handle the role to not waste a spot on just a returner.

My surprise cut is Curtis Samuel, I never understood the signing as he’s never proven to be an actual WR, just a gadget type and is always injured but financially I don’t think it makes sense to cut him so who knows. If someone emerges at WR or they really want to keep Davidson with how often our TEs are hurt it could happen.

This will probably be Carters undoing. Another pick that didn’t make sense with so many WRs, like Troy Franklin, still on the board.

Hamlin is not a pro bowler, but he still might make the 53. I’m curious if we keep 4 TEs. Davidson could be a Red Zone difference maker.

QB - Trubisky ... (White to PS)

OL - Anderson, Van Pran-Granger, Vandemark ...  (Lundt to PS)

DL - Carter, Walker

LB - Thompson

CB - Ingram ... (Strong to PS)

S - Hamlin

RET - Codrington

I think the final roster might come down to the backup for Johnson at Nickel and #5 Safety between Cam Lewis and Hancock. Hancock would more likely get poached from the PS so he gets the nod.

I only went with 5 WR figuring they could sign Shavers and Virgil to the PS, maybe the rookie from Maryland as well.

Tre White doesn't make the cut - he is not the same guy anymore. Ingram will be the surprise starting corner opposite Benford.

I hope Ingram makes the team because he has looked better every year we’ve had him but Tre is definitely making it. He’s back baby

Zero chance they are cutting Hoecht.

He signed a 3 year deal and, according to reports, has looked good in practice.

Ogunjobi is insurance on the interior in case Deone Walker’s back issue flares up and/or he’s not able to make an impact as a rookie or DeWayne Carter doesn’t make a second year jump.

Smart move by Beane to re-adjust the contract and stay the course.  Hopefully we have no room for him when he comes back off suspension, but with Daquan Jones getting older and 3 of the 5 DT’s on this roster rookies and a second year player, having an insurance policy in a proven player makes a ton of sense.
