I am very curious about the first depth chart to see where they are using Deone Walker.   Given his size I feel like people assume he is a 1 Tech, but I feel like he could use to lose about 20-30 pounds as a 3 tech.   He is a massive guy, but he carries a ton of weight in his belly, and isnt very stout in his lower body.   Incredibly gifted football player, but I think part of what drove teams away from him is the lower back and conditioning issues.     Both of which could be a result of carrying bad weight.

You might want to start another thread about the happy stuff. This one seems have turned into the injury thread about a new york second after you hit submit.

It is called rinse and repeat

Bobby’s praise of Deone Walker was pretty effusive. I wonder if Walker has looked better than Sanders thus far.

As someone that didn't care for the pick I've become very intrigued about Walker. His biggest concern coming into the NFL was the back injury and questions about his commitment and work ethic. Well he gets to camp and is already fully healthy and seems to be carving out a role. I still don't feel overly great about his long-term prospects, but for this year and the next couple years? With his raw physical traits he could be a game changer even in a rotational role.

I keep going back to his 2023 season where he had 7.5 sacks. Hes got the talent to be a stud, it’s just going to take coaching to get it out of him. Most of his pre-draft negatives seemed to center around technique and conditioning.

I thought the knock on Walker was that he played with too high a pad level?

…and the question was how much of it was because he’s a huge person with a bad back. He seemed to play lower the year before, I think. What might he become with good health and proper technique? I would LOVE to find out!
