Beane has said he would sooner trade HIMSELF out of the front office than ever move Josh, so not sure there is any amount to make it happen.

 

I get the old saying "everything has it's price", but I dont see that here.

 

MAYYYYYYBE if we already won a Super Bowl. Like, ok, the monkey is off the back, mission accomplished, Josh is getting old, and the Jets just offered us their next 20 years worth of 1st and 2nd round picks. And even then, it's a 50/50 shot.

Honestly there's really not enough compensation 

 

But if I literally had to guess I think it would probably start at at least four first round picks with probably 2 second rounders

I don’t know how this is a surprise to anyone as he’s the best QB in football.  Everyone always says Mahomes, but I’ll take JA17 all day long.

Mahomes is the best. He played a major part in the Chiefs winning multiple Super Bowls not to mention getting to the Super Bowl even when they lost. Winning goes a long way and even though football is the ultimate team sport the majority of fans/media will have Mahomes #1 and the championships are a big reason why. Fair or not that is how many will look at it.

I don’t disagree that’s the popular consensus, but I don’t agree.  You have your opinion, and I have mine.  Neither is right or wrong.

Interesting comment!

There are some truly great QBs with only one win including Young, Favre, Dawson, Stabler, and Brees. 
Josh is on a trajectory to be better than all of them, but that will take a Lombardi win and some longevity.

Basically they will give him a few grades in the high 80s, a bunch in the mid to upper 90s and then 1 or 2 that are 99.  Based on Madden Math, that comes out to 99 overall.

I was thinking the Jets would start with an offer of their 1st and 2nd round picks for the next 5 years.
