Lawrence has been middling some very hood play and some terrible play/injuries but got massive contract extension. Fields had terrible HC and little skill people around him in Chicago. Now he is with the Jets. Some guys just dont get the best chances for success. Quote

They had the 1st pick twice, and the first time they punted on QB to get more weapons to help Fields succeed. He was also the starter on a season where they were bad enough to get the 1st overall pick. I’m sorry he got hurt and I wish him the best, but he’s had plenty of chances. Russ was a vet minimum guy who got hurt early and basically gave him the starting job in Pitt. He had two different staffs and like 3 or 4 OCs in Chicago. I have always said, the path for Fields’ relative success in the NFL was to hire Greg Roman as their OC and run the ball to 3500 total yards with like 800 rushing and 25 total TDs. He needs an OC who is going to get creative on the ground because he’s never going to captain a competent passing offense. He’s closer to Tyrod Taylor ceiling than anything else.
