The restaurant called Mothers around the block from McDivots has one of the two Owners from Buffalo, so they have Beef on Weck and is even better. It’s not cheap, but they use prime rib vs. roast beef. If you ask for it Buffalostyle, they will put horseradish and dill pickles on it on a genuine kimewaerck roll. i understand. I would say it’s worth it once a year. Load up and freeze it. Us past Buffalonians need to stick together. I was in Brandon for one year, and loved going to O'Brien's for the game. Talk about a Buffalo bar. O'Brien's is for sure a blast but one thing... there are no past Buffalonians. Displaced maybe but not past... it's in the blood. 1 Quote

Have to get this out of the way…911 was down a cook or two and we were told at the door 90 minutes for wings. If you go there no AC so be warned, and i’d imagine like BarBill these are one of the untouchables on gameday. If ya’ll are watching Sunday Night Football, what’s your go to for the Ravens? I Got Nine Eleven sauce for the wings and probably doing smoked ribs and texas twinkies. Go Bills My wife and I are having this. https://www.portraitmagazine.com/newmans-at-988-dungeness-crab-cakes?fbclid=IwAR32RsODgdVRbfAYT_FvwYYlSVkQb-QgJ9Z4QYTwhxz8JNAa2KWJtU3LRE0 1 Quote

Has Main and Hamlin surpassed Bar Bill in your opinion? I've heard that from numerous people. I was at Bar Bill last in 2022 and it was still outstanding then. Quote

I'm in the Northtowns so East Aurora is pretty far away so I don't even get to Bar Bill that often to begin with but might need to venture out that way to try Main and Hamlin sometime 1 Quote
BigAl2526 Posted July 19 Posted July 19 I'll probably by some crab cakes at the supermarket. I like them a lot. Quote

It's always like that (long wait to get a table/long wait to get food). Place is run terribly. They make you jump through hoops to get their wings (open limited hours, long waits, only take cash, no A/c). They have the dream restaurant business, people lining up out the door for one menu item. Should be the most efficient money making machine in America. But they manage to screw it up to the point where I don't bother going. Rant over. It actually upsets me because like you said they are the best wings I've ever had. There is something to be said for building anticipation. The best seasoning is hunger. 1 1 Quote

Main and Hamlin is where all the locals go. Then in the spring I decided I would go into Bar Bill, and they were just a touch better than Main and Hamlin. The past couple of times I went into Main and Hamlin, I felt their quality slipped a notch or two. Bar Bill has always been consistent. Either way, you can't go wrong. 1 Quote

The Bar Bill on Main in Clarence is a must stop event when we get up for the opener this year. I have it penciled in during several openings and we’ll see which one works. We’ll be staying up the road on Main St in Williamsville. It’s silly that food takes on such a priority when I get back to WNY, but it’s what I do. I can only do so many meals in a day, and so far I’ve missed out on Bar Bill. I’ve tried to get into Duff’s (an old watering hole) a few times, but as noted above I will only wait so long for wings. Hopefully the Bar Bill wait isn’t too bad or we can try it at an off hour, you know, like between lunch and dinner. I’ll try not to go directly there from Ted’s, because I try to disguise my gluttonous itinerary to some degree. . Edited July 20 by Augie 1 1 Quote
Don Otreply Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Just Moved to Baltimore, living in the Canton neighborhood, there is a Bills backer bar a neighborhood over in Fells point, me and my better half hope to be there for the game, there are a fair number of Bills fans in Maryland, we see their cars blazoned with the charging Buffalo! 🦬 Natty Boh, Jameson and wings!! GO BILLS!!! 14 hours ago, Mike in Horseheads said: Baltimore ... what ya havin ? .... A lost ***** baseball season, thats what! BarBill in East Aurora is better than BarBill in Clarence, which is still pretty awesome. The wait in East Aurora can top 90 minutes. That's why I stalk the bar, and when someone gets up to leave, I move right in. The most I've had to wait in East Aurora is 10 minutes using that strategy. One time on a busy summer night, my wife, step daughter and I walked in, a party of 3 left the bar as we walked up. We sat down, total wait time, 2 minutes. Quote

That was my plan at Duff’s on Sheridan, go in by myself and snag a seat at the bar. I went as about a 16 year old and shared pitchers of beer at tables with my older friends. I went in to try to get a seat at the bar a few years ago, only to realize they didn’t really have a bar to sit at. 🤷♂️ 1 Quote

Depending on the season and region, it can make up a substantial percentage of their diet. Quote
